yeah! I just love that doctor. She told me when I got them that if anything happened she would take care of it even if it was my fault. I seem to remember her even saying that I should watch for when the warrenty was close & replace them but I forgot that. It was her idea to replace them both.
Also a good reason not to travel right now. We just heard from the realtor handling the short sale. The deal fell thru because the appraisal came back at $300K. So good news/bad news...we'll be here longer safely but we will have to start showing now. Hey, it beats moving 3 times!
Sorry those people are not getting the house, but so glad that you don't have to move quite yet. It'll be nice if you can stay there until your house is ready.
thanks, I wrote it down! It kinda sounds like Sue Monk Kidd's The Trouble With Bees (or something about Bees...brain dead I tell ya today!)
I also got a chuckle from the name Aunt Tootie. Did y'all know Tootie is a nick name for Dorothy? What if my mom called me Tootie???? BAHAHAHA Tootie Horn, too funny!!!!!!!
oh, they were home canned by his mom. (and I meant FIL not FIW...geeze I am brain dead today.)
That's ok. I knew what you meant.
That is one thing that worries me about my own home canning since I'm not an expert and haven't done it before which is why I want to cook up those tomatoes I canned into some sauce. Don't want them sitting on a shelf for too long.

I know a couple gals who go by Tootie, one is a Nancy and the other is a LaVerne.
Both were given the nickname by their fathers.

yeah, she said there is a fine wire that breaks that is usually the cause of them not working. These were extremely pricey so I am thrilled she stands behind them. hmmmmmm, looks like the cost just was cut in half...cool!

well yes but showing is a small thing compared to the $ you are saving : )
I hope the process of your home being built flows quickly and easily and you are all moved in there in good time... for now, enjoy the pool, and sun shine

you know , I tried reading that book, but I just could not follow it... maybe I should try again
speaking of books, I have five waiting on my table by my chair... I have most every thing I want pulled out, washed up if needed and ready to be priced...
I think I will either go sit and read and put my feet up, the stairs have my feet all swollen or I might walk to Kristas... yet at 96 degrees I may drive over

Really!? The only Tooties I've heard of was a gal on our old bowling team & of course Tootie from Facts of Life..They were both Dorothys. oh well, it still can make me laugh every time.

true, very true & Bud insists on keeping it spotless at all times anyway. I am turning into quite the housekeeper in my old age, lol!!!

I loved it & everything she writes. Sue Monk Kidd used to write for Guideposts years ago.
Well, you said that he "volunteered" to work at Christmas. If he was already working at Thanksgiving, I was thinking he might want to have that off. I know about how those holidays can be. My BIL used to work swing shift and one of my nieces is a nurse at TCH and works 3 days on and then 3 off, so sometimes she has to work on holidays also.
I was confused. I couldn't imagine saying bob 'volunteered' to work so I had to go look. I said if I remembered correctly, he was working Christmas.
There was one year I told him to work Christmas if he wanted. It was just the two of us and the relief captain had 3 or 4 little kids. Christmas was falling on the crew change day (Wed.) so he'd have only worked one day extra. But the guy's wife had already made plans to take the kids to her moms so he got to come home on time.
If you like The Help, you may enjoy this other book that I just finished reading. It's called "Saving CeeCee Honeycutt" by Beth Hoffman. It's about a 12yr old whose mother passes and she goes to live with her great-aunt in Savannah. I enjoyed the book so much, there were times that I laughed until tears. CeeCee becomes friends with her Aunt Tootie's maid and other eccentri older ladies and the things they do are soo funny. It takes place in the early 60's.
I can see this book being made into a movie. I can even picture the actresses playing some of the parts. I can see Queen Latifah as the maid.
That sounds like a good book. I checked it out on Amazon.. almost $13 for Kindle. I'll have to see if our library can get a print copy.

my 5 gal bucket was 1/2 full of tomatoes. I wound up with 1 gal zip bag. I need to tie those plants up tonight and water. Keep them maters comin'! I also found some pumpkin seed today so I'd like to get them started asap. Everything was pretty picked over so no green peppers but I found Basil and Cilantro.

My bad. Don't know why I thought you said he volunteered. That was confusing to me.
oh, I see. Doubtfull you will be spending as much on them as you will.....say...Jaydin though. But you are sweet to include them.
No, no. Of course not. However, they will probably be at our big family party (cousins and such), and I will do for them there (so that the cousins don't have to take that on), and we'll do for them for Christmas day. That's still a lot when you're talking 6 kids. That means that Caitlyn and Kenzie might not get as much. And, I'm quite sure that Becky will no more for my kids than she absolutely has to.

I saw on face book a picture of using a hang up style shoe organizer for a small herb garden very cool less watering and nice close by planting ...
I just had to correct 7 typos in that sentence... oh it must be time to rest lol
I'm working on finding crafts for iQuest. I've also looked through a number of songs. I'm so excited that I have a theme for the year.
I love working with themes. I'm in charge of our JANO program for the writers group in January (Writing 50,000 words in January) I'm working on a theme so I can start making the goody bags (not the contents) for the after party in February and for the kick-off in December.

If I have a theme, I can run with just about anything. Thankfully, the good Lord spoke to me and told me what direction He wants us to go. We're doing Heroes of the Bible - one hero a month culminating in a musical of the same name in the spring. We can do a focal memory verse for each month along with that hero. Our kick-off event will be focused around an Olympic theme (I thought that was a good hero focus). I'm excited!!

That does sound like a good theme... and easy to spread out into various things. Have fun!
this is me working I think I'll probably do better after I go to bed with a pad and pen than I'm doing on the computer. I have gotten my creative blog post written for tomorrow and the pictures resized. I need to resize the pics from the conference so they'll be ready for the author blog.
just not into fiction tonight. It looks soooo nice outside but it's still really humid. I got the tomatoes and corn watered then called it a day out there.

Fortunately, we've had rain here each evening around 5 or 6 for the last few days. Helps me not have to water the garden. I'm quite sure that my garden likes it, too.
Hi Quackers! Just got back from dinner with 2 of my GF's. Great dinner and great company. Now I have GOT to get in my stamp room and get some work done.
Good morning Quackers. Got my blog updated last night with my latest PSC card. This is one of the ones that I submitted to the Designed to Color online magazine which was rejected as were all the cards that I submitted. It may get published in a book though. One of the girls on our PSC DT is creating a book that she hopes to publish. Her blog is Parables of a Crafter and after she saw it, she asked me to submit it to her challenge for this week. She's choosing 1 or 2 cards every week to put in the book.
