After we worked on the library yesterday, we went to the pool. I worked on the garden a little. We added some soaker hoses so that the tomato plants wouldn't get so much water on the leaves. I noticed, too, that I have some broccoli budding!!!
Then, we met Mark's parents and sister for supper.
Tomorrow, we are shopping for VBS. Thursday, we're riding. We're also going to the play being put on by the homeschoolers that caused such an issue in our group a few weeks ago. Friday, we have our group meeting. I THINK ... HOPE... PRAY .... that Jaydin and I are home all day on Saturday.
Tomorrow is my last PSC challenge. It was fun doing it. I'm glad I had that chance. Jennipher told me that the door is always open if I want to be a guest or on the design team again. That was SO sweet of her. Wish I had the time.
Hi all....
Well, it's been a full day! We went and voted....that didn't take too long. Ate lunch out and headed to the friend's house to work. Oh, it was rather warm working over there today. Probably one of our hotter days for sure. Since there is no A/C in the house....I had the ceiling fans going on a box fan following me around. Found more paperwork...in the strangest spots!!! But, sorted all that out in years. None of it was current stuff. But, it needed to be sorted!
Jack got the yard mowed...front and back. Really makes the house look better. I tossed out lots of stuff in the kitchen. Who knows how long this stuff had been there!!! They had trash pick up....so, we fill the dumpster up again!
Saved the bigger empty boxes we found for packing other stuff. It's starting to look a little better!

Shell...that's great that you had so much VBS stuff from last year. I saw the VBS stuff at HL the other day. Oh, gosh that brought back memories of school!!!

Thanks Krista. Sometimes I think I'd just like to have all kinds of shelves around, but I think except for having a table to put my Cricut and Cuttlebug, I like it the way it is. It feels more homey.
Nothing better than a homey feel for your creating space!

Cody's team played really good, Cody caught a fly ball for an out... He was not in but a couple of innings...They won , I know they were up 11 - 6, not sure of the final score, as the score board kept going out...
It got chilly out there tonight too
very nice, it's hard to get used to a pool being just a few feet from the back door!!!!! Our house will have about 20 feet of back yard...total & they say they can put a pool in there too Luckily we got the lot we wanted that backs into a conservation area, so no rear neighbors just a 15 foot buffer & then trees!
Sounds like the kind of back yard that my DD's new house has in CA. They back up to the Country Club golf course and a large stand of trees. There is a small putting green for their back yard. I don't think they have even room for a pool. I know my youngest DGD is going to miss that.

I'm glad that you enjoyed your GDT. I do love doing it. Always makes me think outside the box and has really gotten me out of my comfort zone.
It's later than usual for me but I went out with a GF tonight to the movies. We went to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. It had its poignant moments, but all in all pretty good.
Came home and Jenn had added a different twist to our challenge this week, so I had to go fix my blog post and then decided to check out Feline Playful to see what challenges were listed. I was able to submit my card for 7 other challenges this week!
I really want to go finish up a card I started yesterday that I'm going to submit to Designed to Color for publication - again! I would also like to make up a card for a couple of the different topics they have listed.

Sounds like they are off to a good start this year.
morning! My chore for today is to see if I can make a bedspread out of the stash of fabric I have. We need to take pictures for the management co. & I didn't see any bedspreads I like...even tho they were about $100! Quick & easy, no fuss spread...wish me luck!

I know you're up to the challenge. Don't you have a bedspread of your own you can use? What about one of your quilts?

Morning... it looks sunny but I think it is to be cooler today... I need to check on that so I can get dressed, I was too tired last night...
I was so cold after sitting out at the game, I fixed some hot tea as soon as I got home and that did it,
yep I was ready for bed, I did not read or watch tv...
I do not have any big plans today, I hope to get get caught up on my book, and maybe work outside a bit... but that will only happen after I play...I need to get some cards finished up .

I am sure you do not need any luck, well maybe finding material that works together... what size ?
We worked yesterday morning on getting the library cleaned out. We're going to organize the books better and put them somewhere else (we think). We are planning to build a closet/room off of the balcony (into the attic space) that I can use for storage up there. Then, I will have the library area for my Haven space. That will give me two 21'x14' rooms. I need to use one for a cutting table and fabric .....
That's what I'm after. My space will do triple duty... the office/ writing space, the cutting table and the mixed media area.
It was only 60 when I got up at 9!! Yep. Adrian had me up at 3:30. Just needed a drink. I don't think she went back to sleep right away as she didn't wake up until after I came out to the kitchen and Bob called.
It looks as if we got almost 1/2 inch of rain last night. Now the sky is clear and blue. Sure it will get hot. We hit 98 yesterday but it felt cooler after the sun started to go down.

It sounds like your system just needs one of those quiet days. I'd just sit back and enjoy it
Adrian is playing with her legos right now. When I'm done on here I'm going to see what she wants to do. I bought some of the MS paper clay this weekend. Thought it would be good for her art journal. She also has her stamps and stuff. I thought she just needed one more semi-quiet day too.
Hi all.....
Well, we've had some rain!!! Rather down pours at times. The A/C guy was to come and check the units. He called to say it was raining where he was. Jack told him that it was raining off and on. The guy got here but, said that his pressure readings would be off. So, wanted to reschedule the whole thing. We are on for Friday now....10am to 2pm.
I left for the eye doctors to see if they could find out what the problem was with this new pair of glasses. Had a recheck...wow, a big difference. So, I have a new prescription. Hopefully it will be the right one this time!!! I couldn't believe how somethings were so different with this exam. It was a different doctor this time. But, it was a tech that did the exam before. This time it was another doctor. He isn't the main doctor....that I had seen before. But, I liked him and he took his time with it all.

I need to fix some lunch for us....running a little late on that. I did get soooo wet getting out of the car at the doctors. I waited for it to stop...but, it got worse. I thought I would have to call them and say that I was in the parking lot....but, can't get in. Just braved the rain...no umbrella in the car! Figures!!!

I know you're up to the challenge. Don't you have a bedspread of your own you can use? What about one of your quilts?
I only have the one on the guest bed & the quilt on my bed. I rarely make queen size quilts unless they are for someone. The last spread I had I used for over 10 years & I was sick of it so it went to GoodWill. I don't change out spreads with the seasons...do you?
I bedspread turned out cute. i had 12 yards of a fun parrot print I picked up real cheap...worked great. Now I need to make the pillow cases and a fun pillow to contrast.

Sounds really cute. You're going to have to post photos when you get them all done.
Not really. I mostly keep my comforter on the bed year round and just fold it back at night when I go to bed. Then I just have a sheet and a light thermal blanket covering me. I did get a new lighter weight comforter recently because I had to take my usual one to the cleaner to have it cleaned and some seam rips repaired. The new one is a lighter weight, so I'm keeping it on the bed until the Fall when I'll want the heavier one for covering up.

Suzy, I did get one card made and posted on thechallenge thread, I have things laid out for 2 more... But at least I got one in before the month is up...lol the next one will be the one I send to the lady above me : ) and it will be from a sketch I like ... and then the 3 x3 too...Maybe tomorrow if I can ... just wanted you to know ...
Shell...that's great that you had so much VBS stuff from last year. I saw the VBS stuff at HL the other day. Oh, gosh that brought back memories of school!!!
Yes!! HL has some great stuff. In fact, I found some more stuff there that I 'HAD' to have. They are awesome about stocking crafts that coordinate with the VBS themes ... and at a good price.
I also found a Penny Black stamp set .... FOR ME! It's sooooo cute. Another Mimi set.
Was it your choice to be done so soon? or was the time element completed??
A guest designer is only there for a limited time (sometimes, only one challenge ... like the For Fun Challenge I did). This one was for the month of May.
It's later than usual for me but I went out with a GF tonight to the movies. We went to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. It had its poignant moments, but all in all pretty good.

I didn't change my blog. I wasn't home all day. After being up all day, I don't think it would do a lot of good for me to change it now. Oh well.... they can check out the details on the PSC page.
