Interesting, though ... until you mentioned it, I've never heard them called a 'red' dogwood. We called it a pink dogwood all of my life. Just interesting to me.

How about a tool apron, cowboy vest, super hero cape, chef's hat ....

I finished Jaydin's dress today. I'll post pictures next week when she wears it. I did take some today, but I'm not showing it off until Easter. It's really not a big deal for those of you who sew. It's a simple dress with an underskirt and pockets. It was just a major accomplishment for me. I'm very, very pleased with how it turned out and what it looks like on her. Very 'sweet'. There's nothing 'grown up' about it. There's just too much out there to make the little ones look more grown up than they should. I want her to stay little for as long as she can, ya know??
I agree completely! I can't wait to see the dress. I'm sure it is wonderful and best of all Jaydin must feel very special that you made it for her. While I do love my papercrafting, the satisfaction from sewing something for someone yoy love far out weights paper. Quilting would be a natural next step for you...just sayin!

My yard man just stopped by. I had called his cell phone because I thought he was going to come earlier. He looked at the 2 spots where I want him to plant and mulch and gave me a price. Said he probably won't get to all of it today. Maybe can fix the front bed and plant, but will have to do the mulching on Monday. Gave me a price so I can just leave his check under the mat as I usually do.

I took a few pictures when I was out in the back yard earlier . Here is one of my bottlebrush bush. It's the first time it's bloomed in the 2 years that I've had it. The other is my gardenia bush . The blooms on it now are starting to fade, but it's got at least a half dozen more buds on it. It's the first time in 2 years that it has bloomed also. Oh, wait, it had 1 blossom on it last year. But I transplanted it 3 years ago and it hasn't bloomed since then until now. I can't wait until one year it is covered with blossoms.

What a cool bush that is. Love it.

Mom has 4 BIG (BIG!!!!) gardenias. They haven't started blooming here yet, but I would imagine it will be soon.

How did you like the movie?

I do enjoy sewing. I love sewing blankets and such. While I think I might like quilting a little, I don't think I'd get into it. It's far too intricate for me, I think. I do want to do a couple of T shirt quilts. I know those will be a bit of a pain since I will have to use stabilizer on each shirt. I think I can do it, though.

Strange. I know that the pink/red ones are hybrids, but I had no idea that they were actually called 'red.'

Jonah's drama group is doing a play, and he's going to be the mad baker. I suppose that will mean that I need to make a baker's hat and costume. Jaydin's group is doing the Princess and the Pea (I think I've mentioned that). She is going to use her cowgirl costume from Halloween last year. I don't think I have to 'make' her anything for that.

Jonah may need an apron, too ...... hmmmmmm ......

My bleeding hearts are blooming. So far I've only had one come back. Will do closer inspection on the yard later in the week.

Buddy sounds precious.
Goddess used the litter box the very first time she came in the house... before she was an inside kitty. She snuck in the door behind me and went straight to the litter box.

I guess it depends on what you really enjoy doing. I think making a special card for someone is about the same for me. Most of the ones I make now are specific for someone or something, so it gives me great pleasure. Of course, I am not sewing so much and I don't think it really gave me the same creative outlet that I get from my card making.

We both enjoyed it very much. About what I expected with all the action going on. Peeta was more than I expected. In the book I always thought of him as smaller/younger than Katniss.

Back from the movies and dinner. Movie was really good. Now can't wait to read the next 2 books.

Lynne and I went to Chili's for dinner after the show. Yummy. I had grilled chicken, came with rice and black beans. I ate it all. We both agreed that we should do it more often. Oh, we saw the preview of the next Snow White movie that comes out in November. That's gonna be strange since it's also when the last Twilight movie will be released and Kristen Stewart is in both of them. I think we'll go see this one too.

These are 5-6 feet tall, but bushy, bushy. When they bloom, I'll get a picture or two. They are really cool. She has more than one variety, too. One has smaller blooms and leaves, and the others have large blooms and leaves. My brother gave her one of them - she cherishes that one. The others came from rootings from the ones I had at our old house.

Hmmmm .... Interesting. I never thought of him that way. The book said that they were in the same year and that he was medium height and stocky. I assume that meant that he was taller than most girls since they were older teens. Weird how different our perceptions are when we read, huh?

I may do that, but I don't get to make him many things. I may make it just so that I have done something special for him. Does that make sense??

It's been a busy crazy time this week...and it's not over!!! MIL will be here until this afternoon. BIL is going to check to see what the weather is before the plans are made to fly. He said that he wants to fly will there is light. They came in on Wednesday night...it was a bit dark. So, my day is up in the air.

We worked on craft stuff after going to my eye appt and to HL. Got a few things done. She did a couple of cards. We found a magazine to use baker's twine to make lollipops. Oh...very cute!!!
I have that magazine too... and just ordered one of each of the BT from SU It's actually .03 per yard cheaper than the BT at HL unless you use a coupon. I figured it out before pricing my order 'cause that's all I wanted to use it for. LOL

Okay, girls I'm caught up. Not sure how long I'll stay that way. We're taking Adrian and Flat Jaydin on a field trip tomorrow to Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds - 1400 heirloom garden seeds! They are having their Heritage Festival. Glad when this weekend is over.

Dody... loved the pics! she did such a good job taking your picture and that dress/ hat set is just too cute on here!

Maggie, your yard always looks so nice. Hopefully we can make some changes to mine next week. We have just about everything we need

Soni, thanks for updating on Randy. Will keep sending up the prayers

Shell, I thought about you quite a bit this past weekend. Can't even remember in what context now.

Suzy... hope you've enjoyed your visit with your MIL. Cute name for such a small dog.

Okay.. grandpa has kept Adrian occupied long enough. I need some cuddle time before bed. Not sure how often I'll get on this week but did want to catch up at least.

Happy belated Birthday to Brooke

OOOOOOH!!!! Send Flat Jaydin home with some if you can. We LOVE heirloom plants. That sounds like such a COOL field trip. Hope you all have a great, great time!!

Thank you for thinking of me. Today was my daddy's birthday. I thought about him a lot today. I'm good, though.

I had a few texts, evidently he is not thrilled being there... he said they are in competent in many ways... I pray he can rest and heal so he can come home soon... it is so bad to be uncomfortable after surgery, but to be frustrated too, and alone three hours away...

truthfully, he was concerned , he was afraid if he did not do well, or had trouble afterwards in case thet had to do more than planned, but she decided that was what she was doing... I believe the first 24 hrs after surgery everyone needs an advocate there... but just my opinion
