Default Non-political non-hijacked thread

I told myself and my sister that I would no longer post to politcal threads but then the thread started talking about the misery of living with big breasts and I had to post so rather than being yelled at for hijacking I am starting a new thread.
IT IS NOT FAIR that women have to go through what we have to go through....monthly and in the chest area. IT IS NOT FAIR! Then we have to deal with all the innuendos and commentary on both.
Who else feels my pain?

I feel your pain ~ literally!! People don't get it, they don't understand we actually get muscle pulls in our chest that make it feel like a heart attack. Our backs hurt all the time. As a young lady, boys thought I was easy because my chest beat my body to the door by a good 5 minutes. Horrible, horrible life sometimes.

Sports in high school SUCKED! I was literally taped down before track meets. Of course, that's nothing to the nuisance that they are now after nursing my son. I am popular for all the wrong reasons....
I'll never understand why people, men and women, like the 'big uns'.

I feel your pain too ladies. Yep, I was terrified when they got bigger during pregnancy and nursing. I am so scared of what will happen with the next baby. Do they ever stop growing? I already have plans for a reduction but I know it's pointless until I know I won't have any more babies.

The media specialist at the chool where I worked told us at lunch one day that her husnabd told her her boobs looked like some ladies in National Geographic. Needless to say the repercussions were not good.

Default yuck!

Yuck! I hate wearing a bra to bed---even with my big boobs. They're uncomfortable enough during the day. I can't wait to get mine off at night. Only......I have to admit that I hate seeing them in the mirror with my bra off even more than I hate seeing them in the mirror with my bra on! Anyone know how painful a reduction is?

ROFL...

Reality for me... if I take my bra off, my nips hit my waistband of my pants.

I'm still breastfeeding, but we'll see what happens when she weans. If I don't get to a DD or smaller, I might have to get a reduction. These girls KILL my back!

I'm doing my part to ensure the shrinkage, with weight watchers. SHRINK boobies, SHRINK!!

Me too! I had to wear one at night while I was nursing my DD though. I just couldn't get away without one. I wore some that didn't have an underwire though while nursing and to sleep in so it was a little better. My aunt had a reduction a few years ago so I could ask her. She is the only person I know who's had one. The problem runs in all women on my mom's side of the family....except for my youngest sis.

Default reduction pain

I'd be mighty interested to know about the pain factor. It's the only thing that keeps me from commiting to it!

A funny story, though......A friend of mine found a lump in her right breast (turns out it was benign) and had to have it biopsied. So she went to the surgeon for a consultation. I should tell you that my friend is also a mother of 5, with a wicked sense of humor and is enthusiastic about sex with her husband. So she went to see the surgeon and he told her that there's a risk of some nerve damage in these procedures. She said that was fine, just not to damage that nipple nerve!!! I couldn't believe she said that. She was laughing and he just looked at her like she was an idiotic pervert, then told her that it COULD happen. She played it off by saying that she'd still have sensation in the other one, so she'd be okay.
She cracks me up.

As a woman with large breasts, have you ever stopped to wonder how freakishly BIZZARRE it is for breasts to grow so large? Sometimes I can't believe it. They get in the way of everything, don't they? Men from the very old to young look at them. Sometimes I'd like to poke their eyes in.

I had a reduction last February. My german heritage finally got the best of me. I could no longer take it. The plastic surgeon had a book with before and after pictures. It didn't look as bad as I expected. When I found out insurance covered most of it I couldn't get to the hospital fast enough.
Yes it is painfull but I do not regret doing it. I have lost some sensation in one breast. Although it seems I get more feeling as time goes on.
I used to be a bartender and constantly heard comments. It is so nice to finally be able to walk in a room and not be stared at in the chest. I no longer feel that I get duragatory comments. It has actually improved my self esteem greatly. I even intend to have a tummy tuck when I can.
I recomend it!

I also feel your pain also as I am in a double D cup ,wish I had taken after Moms side she is a small B I think. Men are always facinated by big ones. My man loves mine, atleast he does'nt have to carry them around on him. He would not like them as much then.

O.k. Ladies, I can really relate to this one. I had a reduction many many years ago (20) and have NEVER regretted it. I really do encourage people that are large on top to consider it - it changes your life. I was young and had to wear size 24-26 size blouses. Can you imagine being a teenager and going through this? Ugh.

But, one funny story about big ones...My sister and I were reading Cosmo and they had an article about sagging breast and they had a test to check to see if yours were sagging. You were to take a few pencils and put them under your breast and see how many you could hold. My sister went into the bathroom first and I can hear her counting 1, 2, 3, 4 yep that's it she says. We consult the magazine she's firm. I tell her she better find me all the pens and pencils she can find and then I go into the bathroom and she hears me count 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66. SHe was laughing so hard she cried. Let's just say the magazine didn't say if 66 was sagging or not!!! And, I'm not exagerating. Reduction - Best decision of my life.

"Nice RAK" was the subject line of my first RAK Thank you, so I think it's funny!!!

Back to the boobs, my SIL's are VERY busty. One is a DD, the other is bigger than a DD but refuses to buy a DDD. And it's worse when she's nursing.

This summer I went bra shopping with one of them, and when the lady brought me back a D size I got a High-5 and was told that I am officially one of the family!!

I am fortunate that I never went to more than a DD after all 4 of my boys. My husband told me just the other day that women with big boobs look better in a tight shirt than naked. But then what do you do about that little roll that hangs out over the top of your pants when your shirt is tight? I guess I just need to lose some weight. Working on it.

I can SOOO relate to all of you. I've been waititng to be done having babies so that I can have a reduction. My boobies have gotten bigger with each kid, and they didn't get smaller when I lost weight. I am pregnant now with number three. I can only imagine how big they'll be after this one is born. On the bright side, they look a lot smaller over my big, pregnant belly!

Yeah. My mom keeps pretending that she doesn't have big ones....whatever. Mine didn't just appear as a flaw in the gene pool you know!

Anyway... Marilyn Monroe fans here? She was petrified of sagging and she wore a bra 24/7 until the day she died. SHe looked damn good, too. Maybe I WILL try it...just seems unfair to keep the girls 'caged' up all the time....the price you pay. Tell me about this reduction thingy, too.

Oh, how I can relate!! I had to start wearing a bra in fourth grade. It was horrible! I have always hated having to wear the 'big' bras to keep the ladies in place. Thankfully, there are finally nice bras for big busts, that don't make you look like you have 'rocket boobs' as my hubby calls them. Unfortunately, these bras usually cost an arm and a leg. What's the deal? I guess the manufacturers know we'll pay the price for not having to look like a grannie- no offence to any grannies out there, it's just that those bras remind me of the corset-like contraptions my grandma used to wear. It's so unfair! I have now been wearing a bra non-stop(except for showering) since the end of April when my daughter was born and I've just about had enough! If only men had to go through the things we do!! Instead, they just keep wearing the same undergarments until WE throw them out or they disintegrate while being worn. I guess for them, "hanging lower' is considered a plus Oh well, that's enough chatter from me.

Pain is relative. The day after my reduction surgery, I didn't take any pain medicine. I also had two NINE pound babies without pain meds, and one was back labor...talk about pain! My mom also had a reduction, and she didn't have a lot of pain involved either.

Now when I stub my toe, the whole neighborhood knows about it! Go figure.

If pain is the only thing holding you back from having this surgery, then go for it! Even if it is painful for a couple of days, it is so worth it!

Just my former "F Cup" opinion! LOL

R-E-D-U-C-T-I-O-N ~ 2 years ago come February.
My aunt had one done 20 years ago and was a strong supporter of the procedure so I didn't hesitate.
Hurt ~ yes; but nothing an OTC pain killer couldn't dull.
Numb ~ one; progress noted.
Regrets ~ absolutely, positively none.
Anyone who thinks they are a DD but have yet to be professionally fitted ~ odds are you're an F or G or some other nasty letter shocking hey!
The most unexpected after effect was the change in posture and muscle pain in my back about 3 weeks later ~ think about it; all your muscles are used differently when you're not trying to hold up a "pendulous" (to use the clinical buzz) 10lbs on your chest.
Other than that mine was eventless. Expect sore arms and shouldn't lift your arms high or carry a load (okay, I admit ~ but how do you NOT carry a 2 year old)
It took me many years of being on wait lists, to have my turn come up, to find out I was pregnant....back to the bottom of the list......repeat...

I had a reduction a year ago in January. I've always had a big chest but was really skinny. Around the time I was 20 I had to take medication that made me gain weight. Of course, "the girls" got bigger and saggier. My surgery was approved by our provincial medicare last year (I'm 27) and I was able to have it done. I didn't lose any weight before I did it because I couldn't exercise because I was in too much pain. It sounds like a lame excuse but I'm sure some of you can relate. Anyhow, I got it done. DO NOT regret it and the pain was not bad at all. (and I HATE pain) It was uncomfortable to sleep for the first two weeks or so because I'm a "sleep on my stomach" girl but really, I had nothing to complain about. My husband was really really supportive and helped with everything (especially our two year old!). I've now lost 30 pounds since really trying to lose in May of this past year and I feel great ! I would recommend that if you can lose the weight first then do it ........but really anything is better than what I had !!!!!

Default Name Calling

Yeah, I was called Melon Helen. Great rhyming name, eh! Now, after three kids, well, now I am... let's just say they aren't as firm as melons anymore, more like pancakes.....

Oh, man, you ladies are scaring me with all these stories about the twins getting bigger and bigger when you have kids! I wear a DD now, although I fear I may need a bigger size again, and those are hard to find off-the-rack!

I, too, got my first bra when I was only 8 or 9. In high school, my best friend and I used to trade jokes about our mutual voluptuousness -- especially during volleyball season! How exactly are you supposed to bring your arms together discreetly and tastefully when it involves either squishing them together or swinging your arms up over them and then bringing your hands into position?

My girls have never been massive except when I was nursing. I remember with the first baby, my DH leaned over to have a look and said, "WOW!" I said, "The doctor said no you-know-what for 6 weeks!" You never saw a face fall so fast, LOL!

I nursed three kids and mine have gotten SMALLER than they were before; not much, but some. I wear a 38 B, before pregnancy it was a 38 C. And I hate polyester bras and cotton ones in my size WITHOUT underwires are almost impossible to find. ANd you know what Victoria's Secret is, don't you? You can't shop there unless you are a twig!

My 10 year old informed me two days ago that she thinks it's time to go bra shopping. I wanted to shout "NOOOO!!! Don't do it until you absolutely have to!" But it's true...wearing a bra to bed will keep everything in place longer. I didn't get saggy until I stopped wearing a bra to bed (I did this when I was a young teen...I can't remember why) and went braless on occasion (back in the 70's when it was hip to be swinging around.) unleashed).

All I can say to this thread is REDUCTION< REDUCTION< REDUCTION. I had one done 2 years ago and absolutely love it. I have so much self confidence now. I no longer feel like a freak. The pain was minimal to none. Didn't need pain killers. Hurts alot less than you think it will. I even did an interview with the local newspaper who was writing on this issue. Run don't walk to your nearest surgeon. They now stand perky and beautiful. My husband even thinks they are beautiful now and is so glad I had it done. Good luck to all.
