Can I just say that there is only a certain amount of laziness and hours of sleeping the day away that I can tolerate from people, and we are coming dangerously close to the limit. I feel the frustration building...

Laurie...I am so going to make the soft pumkin cookies. Katie loves those. It will be a good thing to make and ship off to her at college!
I love all the pumkin cakes....mmm..chocolate and pumkin...now my mouth is watering!
Holy=ly, How did the nesties work? There is a really cool nesties sandwich stack file here on Splitcoasters...I will try to find it for you!
Vikki, I so totally LOVE the idea of the cookbook for the kids. Actually, got me thinking...maybe we could all do 6x6 holiday recipe cards here...maybe that's what we can do when it's my go-round?
Okay, I was all excited to show you my OSW and it's saying the file is too big. Grrrr! I thought I fixed that. I will post and add a thread also Vikki...it probably won't be till next day off. Sean is on his way home to have pizza with Jim and I. Um, and Jim mentioned that I have been in my stamping room all day....he's right. AND I"VE had a wonderful day in it!!!!!! Thanks for the inspiration Vikki!

OK - It looks like I've been missing every second page or so for the last few days - which is why I have been wondering what on earth has been going on! You can obviously see where my head has been!

Will catch up and talk soon

Works for me.. due before Easter?????

Glad you busy all day! I can say I have found the top of my desk! I have watched so much tv today. I've been up once an hour to refill my glass of iced Tea and potty breaks!

Clint has been sleeping. He didn't get up until 11, and I didn't even notice he went into the bdrm. I had gone out to get a refill around 1 and he wasn't there. then I noticed his shoes by the door (so he has to be inside) he was sleeping! He just got up about 30 minutes ago

HOLY WOW KAREN!!! Those cards are GORGEOUS!!!

I will try so very hard to participate in the tax season 6x6 recipe swap. Maybe if I make them before Christmas and just put them aside 'til it's time to mail them? I really like that idea.

Hello--hope you had a good weekend and a relaxing Sunday Night!

I too have no idea how to use the pretty name for a watermark.

Can someone tell me again when our swap is due? November 15th?

Thanks, Barb

I have skimmed through the last few days..
Lauries, how is your friend Paul's Dad?
Karen - I love your cards
You girls are funny with your pumpkin. Over here it a vegie and we use it in savoury dishes, but you guys use it as sweets. I just can not imagine eating pumpkin cheescake. I suppose it is no different to zucchini cake or the like....
You guys really t into the Halloween sltuff - you will have to take some piccies of the decorations etc and post them for me to see. It is not very big over here at all, but is getting bigger as we become more 'Americanised.
We had dramas (I know) with Mitch over the weekend. He made a big stuff up at work and had to see the big boss at 8am this morning. I think that he thought that he honestly wouldn't have a job anymore. DH rang bot his BIL's (my Brother and my sister's Husband) and told them what has been going on (he has been slowly going off the rails a bit). Anyway, they both had a talk to him over the weekend, as he won't listen to us. Anyway, he has just sent me a text to say he has a job still. He is almost finished his 3rd year in a 4 year apprenticeship. He now has to deal with me and some other changes! Should be fun.
Anyway, I am off to uni to meet some girls, finish an assignment and do an online test, now that my stomach isn't so tied up in knots.
oh, and the recipe swap sounds great.

Okay, save the watermark to your pc as PNG format... not a jpeg

open a card pic in whatever photo editing program you use. now also open the watermark in the same program (hoping you can have more than one open at a time)

now right click on the watermark and 'copy'
go back to the photo of the card and 'paste' the water mark right over top of it.

if this does not work I hang my head and tell you to down load GIMP... it is free! and I can email you the tutorial too!

eeeww I can not imagine eating pumpkin as a vegie. LOL

Share some recipes Kerriann!

Halloween is not one of my things. I will participate in challenges and oblige my little DSS when she asks for Halloween things, but as for 'on my own will' not a chance!
Now that I live out here, nobody comes here to trick or treat, and my children are gone I do not decorate.

I barely decorate for Christmas or anything else.
When the kids were still home I went all out on every single holiday and season.

Kerriann I too am missing posts, then they are there the next day. It's very odd!

Thank you Vikki!!!

I don't get into the scary Halloween. I guess my stuff is actually more Fall. I have three pumpkins and three scarecrows out. Might put some orange and purple lights out just to light up the front walk for the trick or treaters. We have to find them first!

I am so glad we are not doing trick or treat this year. I like that with the kids gone, we can shut off the lights that night. We did it every year that we had small kids...heck, even when our babies were in high school! Funny thing is, with Katie at college, I actually made a trick or treat basket to send to her at school. I hope we can tone down our Christmas decorations this year also. I don't mind putting up the decorations, I just rather skip the tree. It's a huge PITA. Everyone wants it up...but then it takes forever to get a day to take it down and put away everything.
I am so glad to hear that others have been missing posts. I thought it was only me!
Barb, thank you for asking the question. I wasn't sure of when it was due either. Also, are we making card swap? Or just one card to each with a little "something something" gift to go with it....?? I can try to find it back in our posts, but if someone remembers the details, it would be great. Now that I have a place to write down dates, etc, I can get it all organized!

Default Need help from my talented friends!

I'm going to a tapas and wine Bachelorette party on Friday night. I need to make some easy and cute appetizers. I am picking up Katie from College to attend the bachelorette party, so I won't have a huge amount of time...any suggestions?

I thought we were doing a card swap and adding the little extras because it is Christmas. Is this what everyone else thought or not?

Well, I have done the online test and almost finished the assignment. It is due Wednesday, so all is good!

Here is our favourite recipe at the moment:

Kerriann's Fetticine Marinara

Put cream and evaporated milk in a large frypan. I use about 300ml of cream and about half a 375ml can of evaporated milk. Add some chilli for some zing - I add lots. Throw in about 750gms of marinara mix. The marinara will not take very long to cook at all, so don't go and do anything else. Cook your fettucine, then plate up and serve with lots of crusty bread and perhaps some parmeson (sp) cheese on top.

This feeds 3 or 4 of us, depending on how hungry we are.

I just thought of a pumpkin recipe that I can share....

Lady Flo's Pumpkin Scones

Lady Flo is/was the wife of a long standing Premier of Queensland (like your Govenors?) and then became the first female in the Qld parliament. Joh and Flo were made Lord and Lady by the Queen years ago. She is known as being a normal, average farmer's wife who has done great things. She was 100 this year and still lives at the farm, which is about an hour and ahalf away from where we live. She put out a recipe book in the 90's and my Nana bought one and had it signed by Flo and then gave it to me. Now there's some useless information.....

1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 cup cold mashed pumpkin
2-21/4 cups self raising flour

Beat together butter, sugar and salt using an electric mixer. Add egg, then pumpkin. Finally stir in, by hand, sifted flour. Turn onto a floured board and cut. (I have a particular glass that is the perfect size for scones). Place on a heated floured tray and cook on the top shelf of a very hot oven (225 - 250C) for 15-20 minutes.

And ther you have my only pumpkin recipe, except for cut it up into pieces, throw it in some boiling water, cook until soft, tip out water, add a dob of butter and mash. Serve with all your other vegies including mashed potato!

Congrats on the baby news! Yeah!!!

Paul's Dad is doing better, but continued prayers would be nice. They have found the "reason" for the infection and are treating him with mega doses of antibiotics. He will be released to a nursing home closer to home (where his son is a nurse) until the infection is cleared up completely, and then they will start to figure out what to do with the "growth" in the lining of his bladder. UGH! Thanking God for what has been done so far.

I thought also that we were swapping cards and sending a little something for everyone.

Yep, a card with a little something extra from our stash

Kerriann that is awesome bit of 'useless' information! How cool is that to have her cookbook and signed even!
I love that kind of stuff. That book would be so treasured. And to be 100 years old! WOW!

Good Morning Everyone--Happy Start to a new Week!

I need to get caught up with taking some pictures of swap cards and getting them uploaded. I also plan to swap out the Caffeine Swap and get them postal. I also took about 150 pictures at the football game on Friday night with my new camera and need to get them on my computer so I can sort them and probably delete 90%!

I hope you have a great Monday--as good as a Monday can be...............

Good morning ladies.. I must get out of the jammies today! Not sure for what, but I only have one more pair left!

Okay the VSBN coming up one of the challenges will be using DIgi's for a scarp book page. I do not have digi's for that kind of thing!

Oh good grief!

You girls have any digi's or only use the hand to ink kind? I need stability! Too many choices! LOL

I haven't gotten into the digital images yet. I like my stamps and ink. I suppose it really doesn't matter, but I have invested a LOT into my stamps, and will continue to use them.

Holly, thank you for the continued prayers.

I agree, I have seen beautiful cards too, but Holly, we are so much alike...

My allergies are kicking in today, and it's making me sleepy. Ugh!

I didn't stamp at all over the weekend, and I KINDA feel bad about it However, I was totally into creating my next card for stamp club. In my head anyways.

I have my swaps all designed in my head for our group too, now to just put ink to stamp to paper! I am really excited about these cards, and I am totally in on the recipe cards for Karen's swap. 6x6 is a great size!
