Good Morning--celebrating my birthday weekend by offering prizes to anyone who joins any of my swaps through Sunday night-stop by ladies--you will love these swaps!
Nothing much planned today--headed out in a bit to go to a couple of stores to make a couple of exchanges of things for the grill--needed some replacement parts. Also stopping at a furniture store to look for a new chair for the living room--one we have is so unconfortable and no one wants to sit in it, so I am looking for another small recliner like we got a couple of months ago.
Then, we are going out for dinner tonight. Tomorrow is a fun day for me--I am taking a brayer class taught by Michelle Zindorf. Have you seen some of her creations? Google her name and check out her blog. I signed up way back last spring and am taking both the beginning and advanced class--it is in Elk Grove Village, IL, about 2+ hours away. It is kind of expensive, but a b-day gift to me. And, I did get a camera from my roomie (I did pick it out and bought it yesterday on her CC--it is a Canon Rebel and was a hot buy comdo-camera, 18-135 lens, filter, camera bag, extra battery, SD card all together for an outstanding price. I could not even beat the price anywhere on line and got it at a local store 5 minutes from my house--great place! Can't wait to charge it up and play!!!
you are too funny, and here i thought "ooh, Vikki invited her sis to our cool lil group" LOL
was able to venture out today, lots of trees and big branches down, some roads still closed, school was canceled, was almost like a hurricane came through!
the news says it is the worst we've had since 1999!!!!!
of course the kids are lovin it, some are out with thier boogy boards in the flooded areas! wish i could join em LOL................................
we are havin pizza tonite, nice and easy peasy

Good Morning--heading out in a couple of minutes for my drive to Illinois for the Michelle Zindorf brayer classes--I can not wait to have fun on World Card Making Day! I will make a full report back tonight--see ya all and enjoy making lots of cards today!
Good morning all!
First off..barb, sorry your card is a bit late getting to you-I totally had the dates screwed up! But HAPPY BIRTHDAY! How cool is it that National card making day is on your Bday weekend?
I just got the Elizabeth stamp on thursday! I will play with it tomorrow. I love how it looks.
My day off this past week was Thursday. I drove to my sister's house and picked up my order. Funny, one of the stamps I ordered was the Elizabeth stamp! I was COMPLETELY out of white and very vanilla cardstock! I felt lost without a basic color like that. I also had two doctors appointments--nothing important, just the "you are in the age bracket where we like to do these tests" stuff. LOVE being in that "age bracket". NOT! I had my yearly physical a couple of weeks ago and since it had been a while they had seen me, I swear they are making me get all this stuff done!
I'm working 1-9pm today. Jim is going to work on the craft room a bit and get it ready to paint. Next weekend I'll paint it and MOVE in! I got a really awsome table at Staples that I can't wait to use. It was on clearance and I couldn't pass it up!
Monday and Tuesday I am going to be in Washington DC for work, so it will be a busy week.
Holly, that weather was wild! We just had the "leftovers" of the rain and wind and it was crazy! I'm glad you are all ok and safe!
Enjoy the stamping today ladies! I wish I could call out sick and stamp along with everyone today!

Karen, I can't wait to see pics of your room. My ink pad holder should be here soon, and then I can finish my room and take pictures of it. I can't wait to be totally organized! Well, except for my desk. that will probably NEVER be organized. Oh well.
Barb, have a fun time and a safe trip!
Vikki are you home today?
Well, I have a lot on my list I want to get done before Tom gets home from work. Seems like cleaning the house is just easier when he is gone. He has been working every other Saturday, and that has worked out well for me! Does him some good too...on the paycheck!
the sun is out and theres such a nice breeze, i think i will take my coffee outside and work in the flowerbeds, pull all the stuff thats done for the yr, make room for the fall stuff to do their thing!
the ground is still soft so will be easy peasy!
Karen, i am so excited for you...cant wait to see pics of the room, hope that storm has lost is power by now...stay safe!
Laurie, cant wait to see your room too
Rachel, how ya feelin kiddo?
Vikki, whatcha doin?

Onto a different stamping project. That one really got me upset. My white embossing on black turned out looking like crap, and my stamp had not been cleaned (not a normal thing for me). I don't recall if I borrowed this one out to someone or not. I kind of remember that I might have. So, for the second time, my white ink pad is now pink. UGH!!! Sorry.
So, I am just going to send the birthday cards and call it good. I want to stamp for me and for fun.
OK, I could not just scrap that project. So, I took a nap. I woke up with a pounding headache AND a brilliant idea. STOP HOARDING THE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER. The pattern packs (hostess benefits) from two years ago has basic gray. Ok. So, there will be two different designs, but that's all right. So the cards will still be elegant, but they will be black and white and basic gray. YES!!!
Oh Laurie I feel ya! I have countless packs of DSP that I've opened and looked at, but never cut into! I need to get past the idea that I need to use up ALL my scraps before I cut into anything new, because I will NEVER use up all my scraps!!!
Actually, here's a pic of my Tower-o-Scraps, so you know where the guilt comes from. These are those 12x12 Sterlite drawers that are about 3" deep, and they are CRAMMED with scraps! Most of them are from the 'Post when it closed, very little of it is actually *my* scraps! Like *my* scraps would fit into a magazine file at most! LOL
Otherwise, the cold is much better, but I've had no voice since Thursday! I just got home from an all day stamping shindig, and do you know how hard it is to strike up conversations with total strangers when you sound like a goose due to bad laryngitis?? Very embarassing, so mostly I sat at a table by myself. Now I'm off to unpack all my tools and get my room put back together. My hubs put in a new window in my office while I was gone, so it definately needs some clean up duty!
Have a great weekend!

Hi Guys--back home.
Class was very good and Laurie--you will think this is so darn funny. I get there a bit early--the class is in a community room of an assisted living center. I had parked the car and was listening to the radio and then started to walk to the door. I was almost in and I heard a honk. I turned around to see a van and thought someone was asking if this was the right place. I walked to the van and the woman put the window down and it was NANCY! Yes, my demo and Laurie's demo was in the same class that we each drove close to 2 hours for and did not know each other was in it. There were only 12 people in the beginner class and 13 in the advanced. The advanced was sold out when Nancy signed up, but Michelle had a spot open up. There were two people who wanted it and the other lady was chosen by random. There was even a woman who flew in form Montreal for the class! There were 13 people then in the afternoon class. I actually won a door prize in each one--a new SU set and there were only three names drawn both sessions. We made three cards in each session--very cool cards. I will take pictures and post them in this thread tomorrow. She is a great teacher and the cards are really not as hard as they look. They do take some practice, but what we made looks pretty close to her sample cards. I really recommend anyone who can take this class to do so--you do get $60 of SU products in each class--morning was a brayer, SU stamp set, white gel pen and grid pack. Afternoon was two SU sets, versamark pad and versamark pen. I had fun!
I ran away for the weekend. We had a major truck breakdown this week and DH was stressing. We talked it all through and I have convinced him that it can't get any worse, and to look on the bright side of things, which is that nothing much else can go wrong now. We will be very broke for a little while, but we will get through it. A frined called me on Friday morning and asked if I could help her with her computer, so I went out to her and then hom to my BF and had a lovely night. We drank a bit much, and were sound asleep by 8.30, but woke with clear heads! We took her littlies to the park early and then I drove home. I have lots of plant cuttings for the garden which I will plant out tomorrow, and feel quite refreshed.
I made the wedding card on Friday. It's in my gallery, so check it out. I may be biased, but it looks even better in reality

Oh that's too funny Barb, but I am SO glad Nancy got out and had some fun for a change. She has been putting in tons of hours at work. I can't wait to hear more about the class and see the techniques. I love my brayer, and Versamark has always been one of my favorites!
Supper is either beef tenderloin on the grill ($3.99 a pound!) or our traditional Sunday night pizza. As motivated (NOT) as Tom has been so far today, my bet is on the pizza.
Stamping and M&M's do go well together!!! I am finishing my set of get well cards for church and calling it a wrap. Done. Then I can start on some swap cards.
Can someone please post the details for the swap we are sending Kerriann. 6 Christmas cards and some lil goodies for each other? When is it due to her? I work best with deadlines. HELP ME PLEASE! I don't even know if everyone is in or not.
Vikki, what happened to the skirting?
Not much going on here. The Packers/Lions game is on so Tom won't do much now til 3:30. Guess he may do his laundry then. Mine is done.

They took skirting off in various places when they re-did the electric, then I put it back, when the inspector came out he took pieces off. Well you can't put it on in the middle they are interlocking pieces and you have to work left to right.
And being MEN involved.. so many pieces got broke so I had to go out back to the other shed where we stored all the left over and cut new pieces.
Our property is 15 acres and the back shed got put on the back property line, where we were going to build a house. Through the woods that seemed like quite the hike! LOL
Anyhow, now I am sitting on my butt ignoring everyone! LOL
Small gift to go with each card. Each gift is to cost no more than $5, but preferably be 'cost free'. That is stuff from your stash, stamped images, diecuts, etc.
Cards to be with me by November 20th.
Does this work for everyone?

Thank you Kerriann. It's perfect! I have some punches and just a few dies for the Big Shot. I have tons of SU stamps though. If anyone wants images, let me know what.

Oh speaking from the stash.. my Ex MIL Judy asked me if she could have a few scraps. I buy too much Bazzil Bling! and DS. I said sure!
So I decided to make up a bag for her, I went through my scrap drawer of solids, and kept only scraps of taken with teal! oh and the browns that were in there! LOL I couldn't close that drawer at all anymore.. I can now! YAY!
in the DS, Bling and color core core, I gave her all of the DS.
It is a FULL bag now!
I have a drawer of stamped images, I will share with you girls., but I am gonna give Judy some of them too!
In the RAC SAC thread, ladies put a few images in with the cards, i think I am gonna start doing that too! I can not close the drawer they are in.
That's what I will go do next...
