I am looking forward to the new catty. I am hoping I like it a lot better than the current catalog. I like the In Colors. I need to remember to order some more Wisteria Wonder stuff before it goes away.

Good Morning World!!

I haven't been MIA - just didn't go near the computer over the weekend. I checked Facebook and emails a few times on my pone though - couldn't go cold turkey.

We didn't do anything over the weekend. Brayden was away at Easterfest 2013 ? Easterfest TV ? Easter Music Festival, Easter 2013, Gospel Music, Australian Music. It is a huge Christian music festival held about an hour away. I haven't been since the kids were little but Bug has been for the last 5 or so years. They normally camp, but a few years ago there was a big storm and it got washed out in a major way (the main tent collapsed while something was on), there stuff got washed away and it they ended up staying with the parents of a friends' sisters' husband. Now they stay in houses - he stayed at a friends' uncle and aunts place while they were away. He is now on school holidays until the middle of April.
Mitch drove home on Thursday night after work. He got here in the early morning hours. When I woke up there were two of his mates here and they were all asleep. The other boys left, Mitch got up, ate and left again. He came back late on Sunday night, got up yesterday morning, ate and drove home. He sent me a text that he had got there about 7pm.
Browny and I watched lots of TV. We watched Argo and Skyfall. I enjoyed both, but he said that Argo was a bit 'tv'. Not sure what he meant there.....
The cooler weather has started over the weekend too. Nice fore sleeping.
Last night for dinner we had beef. Our butcher has this cut that he calls 'rib on the bone. From what I can work out it is a piece of porterhouse still on the rib. About two inches thick. It is beautiful, but a treat at a bit under $30 a kilo. Luckily one piece seems to feed the three of us, as long as there are plenty of vegies. Tonight we are having this.....Crispy Chicken with Egg Noodles - Yahoo!7 TV..... sans noodles. I am not quite sure what I will have with it yet.
Joyce - have fun holidaying. Where are you going?
Dawn - Hugs
Vikki Jo - love your ramblings....
Grace - I bet Easter with the Grandies was fun this year
Laurie - no idea, but I can't miss you out...
Holly - love that you now have a photo on FB..
Lots of housework and book work to do today. Did the ironing yesterday while catching up on my shows. Back to the real world now...

Evenin' girls.

Vikkijo, you made me chuckle!

OK, I read and now don't remember what it said... Yeesh!

Laurie, thanks for the Easter card!

Didn't get home until about 30 min ago. Got out of work late then stopped by Jodi's to drop off some stuff they left here yesterday. Ending up watching the girls for a bit while she ran to the store.

Probably going to crash for the night soon.

I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.

good evening ladies

We went to the cities today to help my mom and Raye get moved (partially)

Clint made it all day..a bit draggin' but okay

we got a disturbing letter in the mail
his SSI is going to be ZERO for May
because apparently I am getting a special work comp check of $1173.00

how do they know this and I don't?
So I called my QRC he knows nothing, so I called EC they have no clue what that's about and she says they would tell me before reporting to Social Security
Called my WC lawyer he says to call Social Security and if needed they will write up a letter to them for me

But now for the really bad part of the day
went to the bank to pay the mortgage and there's no money..no letter saying anything about April

Ugh So stressful

VikkiJo, hope it's just a day late in being deposited to your account. It just floors me when the government agencies look for {or seem to} any way to decrease or stop payments to folks like you and Clint, yet we hear of so much fraud in other government programs that doesn't get stopped!!!!!!

Exactly.. i know a lady tht collects welfare, I thought it was sposed to have changed to a limited time thing and you HAD to participate in job search.
She doesn't do sh**
She collects over $500 a month for cash plus i think its around $300 (or even $400) for food stamps every month

i can't even get the discounted medical through the state because somehow the computers say workcomp is my primary insurance
I dispute this constantly then I have to start over with the paper work because of the time lapse.... seriously!

We have a neighbor that receives SSI because he is a drunk! Can you believe that!!!
He has to have a roommate to make sure the bills are paid so he can buy more booze.

anyhow..gotta cool my mind a bit! I am getting so angry!

Last night we discussed what to pay this week with my wc check. tv, internet, car ins, house ins, cell, car pymt, mortgage
I need to pick 1.....mortgage would only be 1/4 of it, he kept saying i don't know what do you want to do.
well if we don't pay the car pymt, there's no need to pay ins, mortgage and house ins same thing,
tv cell and internet are not nessity, but no tv means he sits and stares at nothing all day or he will probably just stay in bed, no cell worries me when i go somewhere and he's home alone, we have applied for one of those Assurance Cells, it's free to SSI recipients (and welfare families)
I can live without the internet (don't want to, but I can)

So can anyone tell me the color codes for the new coming color Smokey Slate?
I never heard of it, but could it have been an old color?

Hi Girls,

Bug and one of his mates spent yesterday in the yard for me. The trimmed hedges and chopped out a bouganvillia that was very, very annoying. They also washed all the screens and windows on the outside of the house. Today they are back, with an extra, to spread mulch, mow, whipper snip and Gerni the outdoor area. They also need to go to the dump and collect the mulch.
Tonight I have to collect Mitch from the airport and tomorrow is his party. I still have no idea how many are coming. I have about 5kgs of beef ribbed roast and about 5kg of boneless port roast. I have 4kg of potato and a large pumpkin that my neighbour and I are going to get stuck into tomorrow morning and cut up and par boil. I need to make a large pot of gravy. I will also make a bowl of tossed salad and have 40 burger rolls to collect on Saturday morning. Dessert will be a couple of cheesecakes from The Cheesecake Shop and trifle (reminder to make jelly, Kerriann) Normally Browny gets home from work on a Saturday evening, but he will be home tonight this week, which means he will be here all day tomorrow to help. Then, Sunday we clean up and have photos in the evening. Then, on Monday morning I get to take Mitch back to the airport for a 5.30 flight.
I think I will sleep for the rest of the day after I get back home........
I went out for dinner last night with our friends and neighbours as their little guy was 5. I had fun taking photos and have put the good ones on FB.

OK, I should go. I need to work out what I am feeding my workers for lunch, write a shopping list and get ready for the day....

Love to all!!

Oh Holly - It is school holidays and I needed the place tidies up before Mitchell's party. I had to pay them $10 an hour to get it done. Bug still complained.
Just so you guys know - wages are pretty different over here. We have no tipping. Bug works at Pizza Hut as a casual and gets almost $9 an hour. I would want about $20 an hour for basic admin work and somewhere around the $30 mark for bookkeeping. If I do bookkeeping myself (not on a wage but as a contractor) I would be wanting about $40. So, the $10 an hour is pretty cheap for labour.
I also had the feed the little darlings. Yesterday was a hot chicken and fresh bread rolls. Today was crusty rolls and homemade 'subway'. I bought a little smoked salmon when I got the stuff as I felt like it. Matty K got stuck into it as well which I thought was pretty funny. The other Matt and Bug thought we were stupid.
Anyways, we got pretty much everything done. Tomorrow a friend is coming over and we are going to do the potato and pumpkin. I have 2 BBQs here and will put the roasts on in them about lunch time so that they are ready about 5ish. I need to vacumn, clean the toilets and charge the camera batteries and I think I am done. Mum can make the trifle when she gets here - Jelly is made!!!!!, and the other stuff can get done then too. Browny just has to go and buy a couple of cheesecakes and pick up the bunch of balloons that I have ordered.

All sorted, I think......
Mitch is getting picked up by a friend tonight from the airport, thank goodness, and has been told to be here by lunch tomorrow.

phew.......

Vikki, Smoky Slate is a new color. Not sure on the RGB code. I'm sure if you hunt around on the demo side someone already has it.

I was kinda surprised by some of the colors they are getting rid of, but what do I know. I'm glad Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder are staying! I really like them a lot!

We got our potato containers yesterday. It's still too early to plant, but I am getting excited. Potatoes, strawberries, roma tomatoes, jalapenos, and butternut squash. not sure what else yet.

Laurie I thought you would be jumping up and down over Blushing Bride making a come back!

Last Fall I moved the majority of my garden out to the front here so i could see it more, well I completely forgot how wet that is in the spring and how deep that water is

hoping that what got moved will appreciate the water! LOL
I am getting anxious to have flowers!

I did a salsa garden last year that was a total flop

Off to see if anyone has gotten a sneak peak at the Smoky Slate yet. Demos going to the convention will for sure but that isn't until the 24th

they do show it in a SU video, it is pretty light

Hi Girls,

We had a big weekend. Mitchell's party went off really well. It started early and finished early - which was the plan. The neighbours went and got their firepit after everyone left. WE all stayed up quite late then. Browny was pretty drunk - cause he 'forgot' to eat!!
The photos went really well, even though it rained. The photographer has posted a 'sneek peek' on FB for us. Here it is for those who have missed it. I think they should be fantastic.
I will post some party ones later, but I have to reduce the size before I can.

Will get back to you all tomorrow. I just thought I would say a quick hello tonight while Browny is peeling vegies.

Good Morning!

Nice photos Kerriann.

Had Jordan & Jessie overnight Saturday and then the kids brought dinner for us on Sunday, BBQ ribs, potatoes and corn. I'll be glad when Jessie finally is done cutting teeth for a while, as she sleeps even lighter than usual and wakes more, with a nasty runny nose on top of that.

Raining right now, so John won't be working today most likely.

Got the price on one of the repairs I need on my car, not too bad, in fact much less than we thought so should be do-able.

Need my second cuppa, so will stop rambling.

FYI, I think Joyce left on her trip so we won't be seeing her pop in for a few days.

Everyone have a great day!!!!

Another quick hello. I have had a sore back for a few days and am off to the chiropractor shortly. I have to reduce the size of the photos that my camera takes before I can upload them to here or Facebook. I finally finished last night, so will add a few.
Yesterday I did lots of housework. Today I have lots more. There is about a weeks worth of washing to fold and I need to finish vacumning. Then the ironing....

Vikki, what about something like this for your friends? I am going to do something similar for Mitchell.

Girls,

I am just trying to get organised for the next little while as we have soooo many things on. There are birthdays galore!

Anyways, I know this is for May, but Grace is having a birthday on the 16th and Laurie is having a milestone birthday on the 21st.

Back later......

Yes Grace, 21!! She is the baby of us all.

I think......

I am baking at the moment. Bug has youth camp this weekend and I realised this afternoon that I promised to make some cakes and biscuits. I decided to make my 'bulk' biscuits recipe and went to grab a tin of condensed milk. I found a tin of caramel in the pantry as well and decided to change the recipe. So, instead of 1 cup sugar, 500gms margarine or butter, 1 tin condensed milk and 5 cups of SR flour, I used the caramel, left out the sugar and only added about 3 or 3 1/2 cups of flour. I have a slightly runnier mix which has turned out crispier. I added chocolate caramel bits and it tastes great. So, after doing one tray and having Bug taste test, I got lazy, put it all in a slice tin, added lots of crushed up chocolate on top and stuck it in the oven. Worked a treat! I also have blueberry muffins happening.

I caught up with the washing and ironing today. I also got the spare room tidy. The kids mixed up all my toys, so I had to spend ages getting the lego out of the car box. A bit ****, I know, but it worked well for me when I had a little house and little kids - no need to stop now that I have a big house and big kids!

Dinner tonight is whatever I find in the fridge. No-one else is home, so all is good. Bug and Browny are both at work. Browny should be home tomorrow evening. Bug leaves tomorrow evening until Sunday lunchtime. He goes back to school on Monday until 3/4's of the way through June. Mid semester break until early July, mid holidays in September/October and then he finishes forever in mid November. His 18th is November 11, which is his last week of school. He will be finished exams, so I need to find out what is going on that week. If I can I will organise a party during the day for him that week. I figure that if I have lots of food, a big screen TV, half a dozen x-boxes, and head phones for me all will be good. Drinking age is 18 here, but I can't imagine that he will be interested, even thought his core group of friends all turn 18 this year. At the moment kids in Queensland finish school the year they turn 17. That is all changing, and kids starting school now will finish the year they turn 18 to bring us into line with the rest of Australia.

Peta and I booked our classes at the brig papercraft fair that happens on the Queens Birthday weekend in June that we go to every year. We chose out classes over the phone together, worked out which day and both booked online at the same time. Except I somehow got myself mixed up and booked Sunday instead of Monday and Room 6 for session 2 and Room 7 for session 3 instead of the other way around. Realised just as I pushed the last button. Must have known that I really wanted to do all 4, so had to book for Monday as well. Damn shame that.... (if a bit expensive)

Laurie, I received your Easter card yesterday.

Off to check my muffins.

cya!

Good Morning Beautiful Ladies

Nothing exciting going on here. The weather has been quite cool this week and I have had to get the flannel pj's out. The days haven't got passed about 26 (your7, which has been nice, although I don't want it to get any colder. Last night I had to have a blanket on my toes while watching TV. Mind you, all the windows were open.....
I have been doing a 'book' of my family. Yesterday I got the stuff for the cover in the mail, so I am working on it. I will post some photos for you to see. I haven't yet got my photos in it as I really wanted to have it all finished before I did. It was a monthly thing, but I didn't know how long for I imagine it said it somewhere on the website, but being blonde I didn't look. I did a couple of the 'pages' twice - one for each boy - so I need to get another sheet of one of the papers so that I can 'bind' it.
Next Friday I have Folk Art in the morning and a class in the evening, then on Sunday Peta and I are off to the coast for an all day class - 3 pages and some beading. I started the Folk Art as classes seemed to have dried up, but one of the girls who used to do them has started up again. It all gets a touch too expensive, but my theory is that I am making memories, so it is really quite cheap in the long run...... Pity there are all males in the house and they can't see it. I am just hoping that at least one of the boys marries a nice girl who appreciates my stuff

Hello Girls

No one has been on here...... Are we all OK?

Bug is back to school today. I really thought about sleeping in, but decided that I should get up and make him lunch. I have everything on the bench that I need but decided that I needed to get on the computer. He is getting his breakfast now, so I'll have to be here a little longer.
I made a yummy cake last night.
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon bi carb soda
1 1/2 teaspoon mixed spice
440gm can crushed pineapple in juice
2 eggs
1/4 cup oil
vanilla
3 bananas
Basically throw it all together (except the juice from the pineapple) and mix, then bake for about 35 minutes. I only had pineapple pieces, so threw them in the mixing bowl. They ended up pretty crushed....
Anyways, the topping is supposed to be the juice, some pecans, sugar, shredded coconut and cornflour, but I made a cream cheese icing instead.
It is beautiful and moist.
Today I have paperwork to do. Also ironing and the floors. There is a load of washing hanging in the outdoor area from last night. Don't really expect it to dry properly as I think there is rain most of the day. Not lots, but enough to be annoying.
Lots of crafting the last few days. I have my 2nd inchie frame ready to stick together and I started painting the pieces for a Kaisercraft mini cupboard that I have to decorate.

Hi girls.

Been a busy weekend with appointments and then the girls overnight on Saturday. Jess did not sleep well at all, woke much more frequently than in the past. Beautiful temps today, around 77 F, so had Jordan and Jess out as much as possible. They all left about an hour or so ago. I'm totally wiped and still need to do laundry.

Hope everyone has a great week!!!

Hi everyone!
Oh it isn't my 21st birthday, but it is a milestone birthday as Kerriann said! Yay me!!! I am actually not minding it...I don't think! Lots of gray hairs this past year or so, but that's ok! They add character!

I survived another tax season. That made 16! Yay!

I feel so sad about what happened in Boston on Monday. I was glad to hear from my friend Wendy that she and her family are ok.

Not much else is going on for news. I planted some sunflowers and Zinnias to get them started, and they sprouted quite nicely. They are in a small planter for now so it is easy for me to put them outside on the nice days but bring them in on the cold nights.

Hope you are all doing well!

Hey all -
Just a quick pop in. Hope everyone is staying healthy. Been trying to get things done, but not enough hours in the day. Need to win the lottery so I can retire and catch up/stay current with all my online friends.

Gotta run, off to work.... again (sigh)
