Hi Girls,

Grace, the Grands sound adorable!

hope everyone is having a great weekend. not much going on here, we are sorta dreary and just a lil damp here today, usual fall weather!

i have been wanting to make a big pot of homemade chicken and rice soup.....maybe next sunday and have the Moms over, as it will make way too much for 2, LOL
the last whole chicken i baked gave some beautiful stock, so i have it frozen and ready to use

i have a project i wanna work on, have a bunch of pieces cut out, and one flower started, just cant get the mojo running yet, LOL.....why is it when you have the perfect day to stamp, you cant get the mojo going??

here is the linkie to the project, she does some really cool stuff!
Stampin Up Paper Flower with Tulle Tutorial - Patty's Stamping Spot

and i had a package come in which had some really nice pieces of the brown shipping paper, so i saved it and punched a bunch out.....they look very pretty! so, guess i will start saving that as well as all the other junk i keep "just in case", lol

animal planet had a marathon yesterday of cats 101, Too Cute, etc etc, and one show mentioned that it is better to spay or nueter BEFORE 6mo's, soooo...we have decided not to wait til Jan for Caesar. once we get young Rob home and the homecoming excitement settles i will be making the appt..... poor little guppy! no girlfriends for Caesar

something wierd has been going on here on the site for me....i keep getting logged off, and i never log off!! and, i hide the company forums, they keep popping back on the list.....very strange! i have it checked to keep me logged in, so not sure what is going on. i hope no one has kidnapped my acct, LOL.............

ok,so, you girls know how i love Julia Child, well i am reading the book "as always,Julia"
which is based on all the letters written between she and her lifelong friend Avis, who started out as Julias penpal, and helped make the dream of that first cookbook come to life......well, at one point she mentioned to Avis how wonderful it was that they had become such close friends without yet ever having met in person...........it SO made me think of us gals right here!! only, we have the luxury of the internet and texting, lol.......

Hi everyone! Went up north for the weekend. Cheyenne did really well - especially at the nursing home. She was a huge hit! It was so nice to visit with my family and not be on a deadline to get home by a certain time last night. Ran into some traffic issues on the way home, and I have realized that my night driving in the rain days are quickly coming to an end. My vision is definitely getting worse.

I hope you all had a great weekend.

Thanks Holly.

Rough day, found out when I got home that my mil's best friend passed just today, seemingly right on the heels of the loss of her sister{dh's aunt} just a few weeks ago.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Sorry to hear that Grace. Glad DH was able to go be with her yesterday.

Not much is going on around here.

I went for a haircut yesterday. Took 4-5 inches off. It was driving me nuts. It's shoulder length now and much more manageable. I wish it had been long enough for Locks of Love, but it was not. I couldn't wait any longer.

Chilly here too. Rained all night, now its starting in again.

Go figure I did the bedding yesterday and it got hung on the line.. so of course it had to rain!

Not sure if it is God or Mother Nature that always insists on a second rinse! LOL

Couldn't imagine cutting my hair to my shoulders. Although while I was laid up having such long hair was annoying... Clint had to brush it and try putting it up for me, but going in to have it washed was heaven.. someone else scrubbing OH MY!

Locks of Love wouldn't take my hair, they say no grays or dyed hair. I could do 10" and still be below my shoulders but it would be very weird for me! LOL

Saw a girl at Subway the other day, she had her hair in a pony tail, then when she turned around it was all shaved straight across from ear to ear and she had a tattoo on her neck. She could have left that hair and still showed the tat. Odd ppl!

Didn't go back a page to read up on stuff.... so off to do that now!

Well I have these wonderful intentions in my head of coloring.... but here I sit on my lazy butt

Well I did take the dogs outside, but I have to watch them now.
There are a few dead deer up the tracks and they won't leave them alone, and I think the neighbors dog is coming into heat again.
Joker wants to go over there, someday he has to figure out that the Great Dane is too tall for him. LOL
There was an add at the store for Beagle Pups (wanna get Joker a girl) But right now I can not afford a puppy too many other obligations to tend to.
Joker is a purebred so someday (maybe)

Oh have I mentioned that I found a home for the one that got dumped off out here?
I took him to PT with me last week and OMG the ppl went nuts over him! LOL

Vikkjo, my hair used to be that long and about that color, now it's just past my shoulders and full of colors I really don't want... LOL. You're hair is beautiful! It looks so healthy!

Have a great weekend. We'll be at Patty's funeral Mass tomorrow morning and then get to have our sweet Jessica overnight. Jordan's caught the cold virus that the rest of us had over the last couple of weeks.

HI Girls,

well, not much going on here today. i have bed linens in the laundry, floors cleaned and the turkey thawing for tomorrow nite.

yesterd started out all stormy looking so i built my chicken and rice soup in the crock. it never even sprinkled! but the soup still hit the spot.
i will say tho that next time i will not add the raw rice in the beginning as it cooks away,
i will add either last hour or use minute rice and add just before serving.

i had some mojo yesterday too and worked on more flower parts, so will add pics once i get them all done and assembled. i can see they could become very adictive to make, lol.

i took apart a new bath poofy, thinking it could work the same as the tulle ribbon, well it did OK, but not as pretty and a bit more bulky. it would be ok for a shabby chic look with a bigger flower, or maybe behind a big rosette.........just not for this type thing!

all the talk about hair reminds me i need to do color soon too!! there was a time i could just about sit on mine it was so long, never dreamed of cutting more than an nch or two off......then it started with a little off, then a little more til one day i said lets do it, an i got the "mushroom do", LOL....and i stick wih it for now til i get bored and decide to grow it longer..........

noticed that myself on the drive home these last few rainy nights - daytime is good yet. think it's because we do so much computer work??

we'll have to keep an eye on the weather for Nov 10th - don't want either of us to have issues with the drive home.

Happy Saturday - another one of my one-day weekends is here. Don't have enough time to get anything major accomplished today - lots of everyday chores have to be done. Laundry is going - kitchen floor needs to be swept (stupid little pieces of leaves) and I think I better find something for supper too.

Last Thursday on the way home, I went through the drive-thru at Culver's (WI fast food chain) and got a pumpkin-pecan mixer (think McD Flurry dessert). OMGosh it was so yummy. But it was cold and rainy and that just made me colder.

Not much happening in my world - going to have a meeting with Larry and his attorney on Tuesday morning - going over the division of joint marital property in each others possession. Going to be curious to see what he lists and the values he puts on it. I don't have much, just a 6yr old car, a 8yr old computer, a craft armoire and a few misc items. All together doesn't come up to even $5000. But him on the other hand... has a 32ft camper, a 20ft camper, a 16ft camper, a 10ft fishing boat, 3 flat screen TVs and other misc furniture AND he put a 30x24ft addition onto the house and a 12x24ft addition onto the garage. Bet he thinks that because those additions were put onto the house he bought before we were married that they won't be counted in the division... WRONG!!!!

Enough whining... what's everyone up to this weekend? Holly, I'm gonna save that chicken/brocolli recipe - was it good?

turkeys at that price would be a good deal - may have to get a couple myself. Love having leftover turkey in my freezer for quick casseroles.

I know what you mean by rough days - had a week of those. My son-in-law lost his grandpa on the 11th, then my daughter lost her uncle on the 12th (by ex's BIL) and then my son-in-law lost his step-father on the 18th. This has not been a good year for our family. My youngest granddaughter still talks about my Mom's funeral and now she's having 3 more deaths to deal with. So sad for little ones.

Son-in-law's sister is getting married today - with losing a step-father, I know the wedding will have some very emotional moments - more than normal.
Hi Sue,
the chicken dish was nummy but needed just a little something more, i added onions but it still needed a bit more something! not sure what tho.........maybe some poultry seasoning or sage????

Larry's sorry butt had best give you HALF of EVERYTHING....or i will come out there and poke him in the nose!
LOL - I would love to get half, I have a couple of expensive items in my future, a new roof on my house and a new/bigger garage. The garage I have now is a single car and was built about 1930 - my car doesn't go into it because door is wide enough, has a totally dirt floor and it may have actually started out as a shed to keep a horse in for all I know. I know there is an spot in my back sidewalk where a hand-pump used to stand. My house is super old - built about 1850. Has all the charm of a cranky old lady too. The floors sag in spots and it creaks and groans too. Almost sounds like I'm talking about me.

I've decided I'm not going to settle for a mere pitance either. He used the joint tax returns to enhance HIS house - in the 9yrs of tax returns, I only got a total of $800 that I could put toward MY house. Talk about taking the lion's share....

If he tries to low-ball me on this, I'll just tell him that the judge will make the final decision then.

Holly, cute do!

Sue, yikes, that is tough losing so many family members that close together, hope all the legal issues get settled fairly or as fairly as possible for you.

My house is about 50 years younger than yours and has some similar issues with floors that sagged, dh put floor jacks in and it has helped, but we still need quite a few more. For me, it adds to the charm of our place. Hoping at some point to do a few more changes to the interior, like repainting a room, pulling up the carpet in the living room and one bedroom to expose the hardwood floors {will need refinishing I'm sure} and replacing the linoleum in the kitchen and bathroom, but those are things we will do over time and if I can convince DH about pulling up the carpet.

Was a very emotional day, had a really hard time not bawling my eyes out more than once during the Mass and then at the cemetary. Was really hard when we brought Jessica home, she picked up on the underlying emotion and was super fussy. Finally got the sweety to sleep about 20 min ago and she'll be out for the night. The left over emotion even had my female cats fighting so had to separate them by confining one to the basement for the night.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Hi Girls,

Lots of things happening here - which is why I have been AWOL.

Browny rolled the trailer on the truck the weekend before last. He is fine and the truck just neds to have the back doors fixed. The trailer, on the other hand, is a write off. This is all a good thing as he has now decided to stop carting bark for the dickheads that he has been working for and go and cart grain. He is also having a much needed break. The major problem with this is that I hadn't planned for him to have a break, but I have been really good with anxiety over it. Insurance are writing off the trailer and we are waiting to see how much they are paying us. Will tell you more of the story when I get back after doing the schol run and some jobs.

Went scrapping yesterday and took my neighbour, Natalie as a treaat for her ed birthday. She is a 'virgin' and enjoyed herself and will be back.

Hi ladies,

Kerriann, sorry about all the yuck with the insurance and vehicle, but glad it's only property and not people. Cute, cute! Thanks for sharing your project.

Vikkijo, I haven't created in 3 weeks, first a yucky cold, then the funeral and other family schtuff. Been tough. Hope to at least make a card for a co-worker who is leaving the end of this week. Only have a couple of nights so hope some major mojo hits really soon!!

Everyone have a great day tomorrow!!!

yesterday did not go in my favor at the atty's office. Of course the DH (and not dear) was not cooperative but that's okay, Karma will someday bite him in the ***** and when it does I hope he gets a severe infection that lasts for years.

the worst part of my day was going to my detached garage to get a box in and finding a poor little guy. He appeared to have been either a runaway or dumped, gray&white chihuahua and he had passed. There was no signs of obvious wounds, but he was skin and bone. My daughter had actually hand fed him a few days prior, but was unable to actually touch him to try to catch him. I was so upset to think that he was that close to people who could have helped him and in his fear, he ran off. I bet I cried for an hour and I do mean sobbed to think how much he must have suffered. If I had known he was in my garage, I would have secured it so that he couldn't get out and then made sure he had plenty of food, water and bedding until getting him to help. He couldn't have weighted more than 5lbs when fully healthy.
