Good frosty morning everyone. I say frosty because someone (ahem...birthday boy boss man) left the A/C on over the weekend, and it is FREEZING in the office. I am leaving my coat on I am so cold.
Anyways...I will be back to chat later. Looks like we have a very busy day ahead.
Hi! Just wanted to let Kerriann and Vikki know that I sent my card last week for our 52 week challenge. I am doing this above and beyond BRAK. I sent my card to my friend Lora who is having some back pain issues.

You are not going to believe this....
I rearranged my new room already!
We put the wall up and I didn't like the corner. So I moved a bookcase over there and moved my speakers (surround sound on the computer) now I have a bare spot where the bookcase was.
Needing an idea for pens and pencils, closer to the stamp table. Was thinking of putting peg board on the side of the table and having baskets on that.
Like the table to be clearable if company comes, but I keep getting up for things to color with.
Spica pens and Copics are s'posed to lay on their sides, Oh too much thinking!
This cold is hanging on tight! I have been trying to finish up a box of 'unfinished' cards, images that I've colored.
I need to go re read that 52 cards thing., I actually forgot all about it. too much Nyquil! Brains are so foggy.

Laurie--I took Claudia and Stella back to Madison today as she was to get her first chemo treatment. We dropped Stella off at 10:30 and they told us to be back around 1:30 or they would call us. We went and had lunch, read the paper a bit and then headed back at 12:30. Claudia wanted to talk to the doc after the treatment, but she came out as they had not started yet. Claudia talked to her again about all of the options for a half hour or more. Stella has been on 6 different meds since Thursday, including prednisone and the tumor is visibly smaller. They agreed it had already went down and the pred. might be enough. The chemo is only 40-some percent effective and really cannot even say how much longer Stella might live, but they do not give her a year. So, Claudia decided to stick with the meds and see how that goes. I agreed with her as did the doctor--the comment was "what ever decision you might is right" So be it. Sorry this was long.................

I guess it's like with people though, that if it's not in the lymph nodes that is a good sign. Her most recent blood work for liver and kidney came back good too, so hopefully all is well. We just value the time we have with her! I feel bad that Claudia has to make some probably tough decisions, but I am very happy to hear that she is well informed.
It is rainy again today - looks like we are going to have another wet summer....
Yesterday I did some paperwork. Today I have a mountain of washing to fold, put away and iron.
I have mince out for dinner, so think I will make rissoles. Bug can have some of the leftover vegies from lastnight and I will have some salad.
Bug and I are seeing one of his teachers at school this afternoon. He is doing really badly in maths. He is doing Maths B, which is the hard maths and has chosen it again for next year. They are suggesting that he does the easier one, but this will mean he can't do physics next year, so will have to change to another subject. He has just chosen all his subjects for years 11 and 12 - they are his last at school. I have finally convinced him to talk to the people that he did some work experience for in the holidays about an apprenticeship - even if it's not what he really wants to do it would give him a trade and then he could do something else later. They have school based apprenticeships here where you start the apprentichip while completeing senior.
Need to get dressed to take the boys to school.

Evening all!
Kerriann, How are you feeling? Sorry it was a rainy day..hopefully it won't be like the rains you had before.
Barbara, You are such a kind friend to Claudia. I hope the meds continue to do their work!
Sue, How are you feeling? Any warmer? I hope you didn't come down with a cold.
Holly, How are you? Wow! You got a lot done in your Mom's room.
Laurie, glad you had such a wonderful time at the wedding! I hope you have warmed up from the ac being left on
Vikki, YAH on the room being done. I like the idea of peg board. There are some pictures on Splitcoast of some crafters who have used it.
Dawn, nice to hear from you. Hope your foot is better.
I have been doing better, but still can't really walk that long. Tonight dinner is Baked haddock (jim's favorite). What is everyone else cooking for dinner?

I have folded the mountain of washing. Now there is a hill of ironing to do. I went for a half hour walk after dropping the boys at school - part of my 'attack' on my blues....
I need to do some baking for Bug for school, so will make some milo slice and some condensed milk biscuits, I am thinking. Both are quick, easy and cheap.....
heads off to the kitchen.....

Barb, that wasn't long at all! I'm glad the meds are helping Stella. I took Chey for a nice walk tonight, but I think it was a little too far yet. She was limping pretty good. Her legs just may never be good. We see the vet for her annual checkup on November 4th, so we shall see what he says.
We had a Mexican Hamburger Helper tonight. After Tom gets done adding stuff and spices it's actually really good! Tomorrow night we are having goose breast, and I am REALLY looking forward to that.
Karen, good to see you. Did you recreate your FB page?
Holly, are you MIA???
I am warm now thank you. It took me almost an hour after I got home to get over the chills. Actually, I think Chey's walk is what did it. I bundled up (you would have thought it is winter!), but it did warm me up! YEAH!
I need to go cruise the gallery for a bit. Talk to you all later.

I had such great intentions for today!
Clints grampa called.. he was s'posed to take his cattle in for butcher at 1
at 11 they got out and he needed help. So we drove down there and 6 hours of trying to lead them back to his property.. 2 of the 7 are loaded. 5 are loose and on government land! Not a good thing!
I am so tired. Its not raining here, but oh my the wind is nuts!
I am going to look at the Christmas gallery quick and go to bed.
Doing just fine. Waiting for this last half hour of work to drag by. Both projects that were on my desk are done, and I am just wrapping up another one. So, all total four projects have cleared my desk today! YEAH!

I got some new pain pills yesterday. Woo Hoo, I actually got to have about 6hrs of painfree sleep last night. I felt pretty good today until about 2:30, then the intense pain was back. So, took another pain pill. The prescription is for one every 4hrs, but I am thinking that one every 6-8 hrs will be enough for now.
I've been organizing again. Got lots of ideas on more to do, so I think I will be creating a "to-do" list so that everything gets done.
supper tonight is going to be very simple... Frozen Chicken Pot Pies. I get the Marie Callander ones and they are so yummy.

Good morning all! It's a very chilly day here. I had a nice day yesterday. My son came over and we went to the movies. Well, I tried to sit through it but wound up pretty uncomfortable. Then we went for a short walk. It was so nice to get out of the house!
On Sunday I tried to make some cards, but just couldn't sit up long enough to get anything done. Laurie, I am still going to try and get those treats done for you, but so far I'm not able to sit up long enough to do it. I'll give it another go this weekend!

We have time Karen. The game is November 12th. No worries.
Holly, thank you in advance for the envelope. I will be sure to let you know when it arrives!
We are supposed to get really really really windy here later today. 40mph sustained with gusts of 60mph. Uck! I guess the waves are already really kicking up on Lake Michigan. Hoping to see some news coverage as I don't have time today to drive in to see it personally. Sad, but true.
Today is going so much better than yesterday. OMG I was a PMS disaster yesterday, and heaven help anyone that got in my way. Today is going so much better!
Mom bought the nephew's Halloween costumes. Rylee (5) is going to be a pirate, and Owen (3) is going to be Superman. Will forward the email in a bit to show you the pics. Owen is as big as Rylee now. Goofy boys! Rylee wanted to wear his costume to school today. Anyways...they are just adorable!
I did get inky last night. I cased a card we made at a shoebox swap maybe last year or the year before. I used Garden Green, Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler and white. LOVE how it turned out. Camera battery is charging so I can get a pic posted. Barb might recognize the layout.
OK...of to do payroll taxes. WHOO HOO!!! Fun stuff!

Good Afternoon--I had a hair cut this morning, went shopping at Kohl's, stopped at Joann's and now I am finally able to check in. Hope your day is going well!
Hi Girls
I had a lovely day today. I picked up a friend from the airport and spent the day with her. She is in Brisbane for a work conference that is tomorrow and Saturday. We went to a shopping centre near where she is staying and had lunch and talked lots and lots. She moved from my home town to a place about 8 hours drive away a few months ago and has lots going on. She is the phycologist (sp) witht he screwed up life......
Yesterday I went to see a naturapath to see if he can make me feel better than I am. He did some acupuncture, which was really weird and gave me a vile mixture of herbs to take morning and night. The acupuncture was weird. I didn't feel the needles at all, just a funny twinge when they got to where they were supposed to be. I felt lovely and relaxed afterwards. I am going back to see him on Monday. Today I felt quite sick, but 'apparently' that could be a bit of a detox sort of thingy from the herbs. I am willing to give it a go, so we shall see. I get all but $18 back from our health insurance.....
Condensed Milk bisuits - for Vicki
1 cup sugar
500gms margarine
1 tin condensed milk
5 cups self raising flour
This makes a huge mixture which I break into a couple and then add different things generally. This lot I just added chocolate chips, but here are some other ideas....
smarties
coconut
milo
a squeeze of OJ and some zest
golden syrup
honey & rolled oats
dried fruit
rice bubbles
peanut butter
vanilla essence
crushed cornflakes
cocoa and peppermint essence
and the list goes on......
I only cooked some, rolled it all in balls and put the others in the freezer for later.
I am going with a friend to craft tomorrow night. It is a 'bring whatever you are working on' thing. I will have to work out what I am going to do, as the mojo has been absent. Think I will scrap though, so will look through some photos tonight and see what jumps out at me!

Kerriann, I have thought about doing accupuncture for my headaches. Thanks for telling us about your experience with it.
I didn't stamp at all last night, which is not good. I was sound asleep by a little after 9pm. That is pretty early for me. I almost think I slept too much.

Hello Everyone--again, a late check in for me. I had breakfast with the boys today--then stops at Mike's, Office Max, Boston Store, CJ Banks, Joann's, World Market, Best Buy and Wild Birds Unlimited............................. WHEW! Then, I stopped at my demos house to get my stamp order and later I will play with my new stamps.
Good evening all! I went back to my doctor's today for an update. He's pleased with my results. Me? I'm a bit frustrated! Anyhow, no return to work date yet. I'm starting Physical Therapy next week. Hopefully that will help get my muscles back to the strength they need.
Katie is coming home this weekend..can't wait to see her. She has a "zombie 5k race" she is doing. Sounds like she will have fun!
