I took Maggie for her haircut. I had her shaved as short as they could. She looks so cute and I know she feels better too.

While I was waiting, I got myself a haircut. Short! Looks better, I think. Easy for me to take care of too. Just a bit of gel or mousse and I can be ready to go in 10 minutes.

Still organizing in my cave. Trying to eliminate as much clutter and duplication as possible.

Good Morning Everyone--Stamp Club was good last night. We made a cute baby card with the new stocking set turned to look like a pony on a stick--so darn cute! Then, we made a stunning Christmas card with cherry cobbler (my favorite color) and silver embossing.

Today, I am heading to Madison to take my friend Claudia to Madison; she is the one who just got a bright purple cast on her foot yesterday. We are taking her dog Stella to see a oncologist as she just found out Stella has cancer in her jaw. She is going to get some additional information about what her options are.

They are also starting part of our garage/greenhouse project today--boring the hole for the water and electric.

Hope you have a Teriffic Thursday!

Good morning all!
Barb, Cherry Cobbler is my favorite color also!
I picked up a new book two days ago and couldn't put it down! It's called "The 19th Wife". If you like a murder mystery and a bit of history, I strongly suggest this book!

The author of the book is David Ebershoff.
Anyone have any good books to suggest to me? I'm still out of work for a bit!

I wish I had more time to read Karen! I love to read. Someday I will have time again.

So...

We have mice in the garage. VERY annoying. One of us doesn't feel the need to do anything about this issue, and the other of us is not so happy but just a renter.

I don't mind mice in the garage, it's when they decide to take up residence inside the house that I have issues.

Go get yourself some mice poison to put in the garage. I believe it's made by D-Con. That what I used to do when I was a renter with rodent issues.

Normally I would say I am not old enough to drink coffee! My step dad used to say it will put hair on your chest... never got the desire for it (the coffee or a hairy chest!)

Nestle makes a hot chocolate with caramel, it is very nummy with a spoon or two of instant coffee mixed in.......................

Sue, I wasn't yelling at you, and I hope it didn't come across that way. I did ask him if there were mice in the basement that I didn't know about, and he said no. He better hope not, or he may not have me living here much longer. I know I didn't have mice in my apartment!

Good morning everyone!

Sue is taking her Sophie to the vet. She is having some health issues that Sue thinks may be related to Lyme disease. Please keep her and Sophie in your thoughts. It's so hard to see our fur babies suffer - especially cuz they cannot tell us what is wrong.

Tonight is the home opener for the Milwaukee Admirals. I am so excited!

Good Morning--a late check in for me. It felt like a looooooooooong day yesterday in Madison. Claudia did not get good news on her dog Stella as the cancer has spread, so she has some decisions to make. We spent some time at Barnes & Noble waiting for the vet to call and did not get home until after 7:00. I watched a bit of the Brewer game and then came home.

This morning, it seems like I have been running around the house all morning and finally can check in here. I will swap out the Caffeine Crazy Swap and go to the Post Office this afternoon. A trip to the bank, grocery shopping and pick up some supplies for the hot tub as it is getting to be that time to "fire that baby up"! Roomies newphew and wife and baby Arlyn are coming tonight and we are going for a bike ride tomorrow if the weather is good. On Sunday, roomie and I are participating in a Heart Walk, along with her coworkers from the Medical College.

Hope you have a wonderful day! Thank goodness it is Friday!!!!

Barb, I have heard that you can spend all day there, and I guess from your experience it's true. I am so sorry there wasn't good news about Stella. Just curious...how many vets did you actually see yesterday? I've heard it's a process because it's a teaching hospital.

We got there at 11:00 and met with one vet for close to an hour for him to get the history and to do a physical exam--checking her all over with his hands and a stethescope. He then said to come back at 5:00 as they would do an ultrasound on her spleen and kidney, along with having the surgeon check the tumor on her face. I think they had other people involved in the process during the day. the vet called a little before 4:00 and told us to come back. He gave us the news that it spread and then spent probably another hour going over options and stuff like that. It was a great experience and would highly recommend it to anyone with a pet they want another opinion. He really spent time talked to Claudia, answering questions and coming up with options. He was very complete!

Yes, I have heard good things. I just knew from talking to our vet that we could not afford to do the treatments on Chey. We did have lymph nodes drawn and tested, and the cancer had not spread there. We are hopeful that she is still cancer free at this point, but we truly don't know that for sure...you know? I guess it's like with people though, that if it's not in the lymph nodes that is a good sign. Her most recent blood work for liver and kidney came back good too, so hopefully all is well. We just value the time we have with her! I feel bad that Claudia has to make some probably tough decisions, but I am very happy to hear that she is well informed.

Hi all

We have had some wild storms the last two nights, but apparently the bad weather is heading for the coast today, so tonight will be fine. We are off to a 40th birthday party this afternoon for a friend, so I am pleased that the weather will be fine.
Here is the card that I made him...
I had a handyman areound yesterday to give me a quote on fixing a few things. Part of the roof in the outdoor area needs replacing and the security door to the outdoor area needs new rollers. He was lovely, but afraid of dogs. How funny is that. I bet it causes him quite a few dramas as a looot of people have dogs...
Mitch has picked up Bug and they have taken the motorbikes out to some friends to go riding for the weekend. Bug has to work tonight, so they will bring him in and pick him up afterwards and then go back out to where they are staying, so we have a child free weekend. Our friends have 40 acres about 25 minutes away.
I haven't had any alcohol since I have been sick, and I really want to take a bottle of wine tonight, but don't want to make myself sick again - decisions, decisions..... I have bought some myself some 'special' softdrink to take though - white grape and passionfruit and the other one is blood orange. Just so that if I decide not to have a wine I will feel like I am having something a bit exciting... Sad isn't it???
Anyway, I am going to sit and watch a bit of TV until Browny gets home, then get ready to go out. The weather is warmer and my feet are starting to get sore and swell a bit, so I will rest them for a while - that's my excuse anyway

Kerriann, I like the card, and my feet were very swollen yesterday too!

The Admirals won 4-2, and it was a great game! I was so happy! Hope they win tonight as well. It's an away game.

I have a wedding this afternoon. It is kinda making me feel old. My BFF's neice is getting married. We used to babysit her and her brother! It's so nice to be invited though. I am considered family, so I get to sit at the family tables for the meal and all that. I do however need to get off this computer and make a card! Early Espresso and Gold. I hope it turns out pretty. Will be back later tonight. I don't plan on staying out too late.

Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday (or Sunday for Kerriann).

Here is the card I just whipped together for the wedding today. It's a fall themed wedding, and the colors are champagne and dark brown. Should be very elegant. My card uses Early Espresso (I felt Choc Chip wasn't dark/elegant enough), Brushed Gold, and Crumb Cake. I hope they like it!

Thank you for thinking of Sophie. I was so scared yesterday and trying to hide it from Addison. She does have Lyme's disease. It was in her hind quarters. We caught it very early, it was barely visible on the test result screen. The reason I noticed it right away is that she was refusing to walk. She only has her rear leg on the right side and with it being affected, when she did walk, she fell over. It was so painful for me to watch her struggle that I carried her all the time. She loved that! She was trembling and running a fever too.

She's been on the meds now for about 24hrs and there is a 100% improvement. Our playful active Sophie has returned.

Laurie, I didn't think you were yelling at me, I knew you were just upset about the rodent rodeo going on in your garage.

When those blasted critters do get into our house, they come right for my craft room because there are some pipes in the closet that have enough of an opening around them for squeezing through. Last thing I want is them things running around my feet while I am trying to get inky.

Laurie - love the cards. Wish I could come along.....

Party last night was interesting. As we were driving over, the sky was getting darker and darker, and as we were sriving up their street all the neighbours were out watching the sky. Just as we got into the yard the wind started and we all had to help keep the big tarp that they had up stay there. There was a bit of rain and hail, but it only lasted for about 1/2 an hour. But, the ground was drenched. I had little flat sandals on and my feet were filthy when I got home. I had to roll my jeans up a bit so they didn't!get wet which was a really good look!
Browny cracked the sads when he got home from work yesterday. He had organised for Bug (or so he thought) to be here today to washt he truck, but Bug has gone riding. He hasn't been sleeping properly and is tired and cranky. He is still stressed over the hole we were in, he won't slow down until we have 'plenty' of money in the bank - which he thinks will be Christmas. 'I' think he is showing all the signs of depression, but apparetnlyt here is nothing wrong with him. I just hope he can hang out till Christmas without anything happening. He also needs to go to the doctor and get a referral as we think he has sleep apnea, which is a lot of the problem.... MEN We need a new bed - which will probably be our Christmas present. Last night I put a couple of bricks at the top end, which he said was better. I also have him taking some natural tablets that help 'promote relaxing' sleep. He says that he is still waking up quite often, but thinks that he is sleeping better, and feels better for it.
BTW - Browny didn't like the card I made - said it looked like I just threw it toether with no thought. I told him tht it was better than a bought one even if he didn't like it again.....MEN
Today - I have Browny's work clothes washing after soaking them overnight. I have another 2 loads of washing to do - where does it come form??, and am about to start on some of the paperwork, so that Browny knows what he did this last week.
Will try to catch back up later....

Hello All--Happy Saturday Night.

I went to bed early last night as I did not feel well. Brewers lost and play again tomorrow afternoon. Aben, Kathy and Arlyn got here around 9:30 and I was sound asleep. We had a good breakfast together--then roomie and Aben went for a 15 mile bike ride. We also watched the Badger win big over Indiana. After Arlyn got up from his nap, we all went for a walk at Laphan Peak. For supper, we had salmon that we brought home from Alaska. Tomorrow morning, they need to leave early to get back to Chicago for church and we too need to get out of the house by 8:30 to be at the lakefront for the walk at 9:15.

I will be back tomorrow afternoon--hope you have a good one! Packers play at noon and the Brewers are on at 3:00--big sports day again!

hi everyone, my goodness you all have been quite busy, what with health problems of your own and of pets prayers that everyone gets healthy soon.

I too have had some dramas over the past weeks. Mom has had her annual dr. appt. and that started it off. all the tests the doc wants and Mom being 2.5 hrs away is not fun. one more appt next week and 2 in Nov. all seems to be ok so far.(knock on wood) I have been batteling a sore heal all summer and it just doesn't want to get better. got some new shoes and they are offering some relief. if not better by the new year I will go in to get it checked out. only putting it off cause I have a 10k deductable so the expence will just have to count on next years.

had some fun last weekend, I went to a stamping thing at a cabin in the woods with a bunch of gals from the area and had a great time. plenty of yummy food and fun stamping w/ swaps and a whole lot of relaxing. would have been great to have a whole week of that.

tomorrow I'm off to a Packer party @ Robin's house and I need to bring taco dip, so I have to get off and make that and I have been hankering for some oatmeal schotchies so I might try to make some to take along too.

I'l check in later after I tend my farm in an hour or so

Hi girls!

The wedding was so nice! I will post pictures later so you can see the dresses. I thought they were lovely! Sarah made a BEAUTIFUL bride, and it was just so good to spend time with their family again. They are almost more family to me than my own. Long stories there. Anyways! Was very nice!

I need to get inky today. Tomorrow is the boss' birthday, and I haven't made a card yet. I have a lil gift idea, so I will step out for lunch to get that. We have a sales tax auditor that will be in the office all day tomorrow, so I think I may need to step out just to get out from the tension for a bit.

Sue, did Sophie keep down her supper last night? I sure hope so. The rice and boiled hamburger seems to help Chey, but I know she is a much larger pup than Sophie is.

Speaking of supper, I am SOOOO lazy today so we will be getting a pizza for supper. I just have no ambition at all. I know I have to do two loads of laundry and some other quick touch up cleaning, but quite honestly, only the laundry will probably get done.

Mom had a bit of a fender bender after church last night. Backed into the neighbors car. Go figure! Anyways...she said there are scratches, but she didn't see any dents. I feel bad. She leases her cars, and she had just picked this one up. It's a really pretty blue Honda Civic. The guys at our local dealership take really good care of her, so hopefully they will help take care of the "scratches". I am sure I will hear the full story today because she was just texting me while I was at the wedding last night.

Not much else going on today. It' sunny but cool. Only 50 degrees right now. Maybe my cold is still lingering a bit cuz I feel chilly. Oh well. I will just take it easy and stamp a bit and maybe take a nap.

TTYL

I am sitting in my cave and I am shivering. Normally this is one of the warmest rooms, so am hoping I'm not coming down with anything.

Been looking online for health insurance and getting quotes. I don't know how I'm going to make it. $300 to $500 per month out of pocket for premiums, plus having large deductibles makes it rough.

Think I'll lock myself in the house and not let anyone who has been exposed to anything come to see me. Sure can't afford to even get a cold right now.

going to put on a sweatshirt and try to get warm...

Default The wedding

Just wanted to share a few pics...

The beautiful bride!

The wedding party The dresses are champagne color and the brown sash ties in the back. They were so pretty!

The beautiful cake. The branches are made of chocolate. It was a chocolate cake. One layer had raspberry cheesecake filling, another had strawberry filling, and I don't recall the rest. The strawberry filling was yummy!

It is a good day so far--the weather was to be rainy today, but it has been partly cloudy and not too windy and no rain. We got to the lakefront around 9:00 and the walk started at 10:30--spent the time chatting with roomie's co-workers, had the team picture taken (the MCW campus operations team was the largest at 55 walkers ) and as a company, MCW was second in total donations--YAY! We did the three mile loop and on the way out, we saw Terry--another SCS'er from Racine, who also walked.

We are home now, watching the Packers and roomie will make a batch of soup later this afternoon--getting to be soup weather. If you like fall recipes, the Dueling Darlings Challenge is on my blog and we have included recipes this month--my recipe is baked oatmeal and is so yummy. Please check out our cards and follow the links on my left sidebar to see the other cards and recipes--some sound so good! The posts were to be up yesterday and some active bloggers might have a new post today, so be sure to scroll down. My blog link is in my siggy.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Good Morning--Happy Monday. Brewers lost last night and are out of the playoffs--BUT the Packers won big, so the day was not all that bad.

I am off to do some errands this morning and will be back later this afternoon--hope you have an outstanding day!
