Okay, now being miserably hot.. I really needed that laugh. Even though it caused Clint to think I'd lost it fromthe heat!
Yes, I will wear clothes "of some sort" I have too many jiggly spots to cover up! LOL

Clint's mom is coming over to have me do a resume for her. S'pose I should eat quick before she gets here.

Later!

good morning ladies! Vicki...what Laurie said! Pictures!! Pictures! thank you for the "list" of where and whats on the wedding planning. I really love knowing the details. I'm one of those people that love the stories of the planning as much as the celebration!
I'm trying to catch up on all the reading here. I stopped dead in my tracks at the Potato beetle. Ugh. No. Ew. Ugh. I think I'd be running also...that would just freak me right out!
Mom is out of the hospital and at home! Woohooo!!!! So nice to not be running back and forth from work to Beverly Hospital and back again. She has Visiting Nurses next week to keep her in check. I am very relieved that they still are making sure the infection isn't getting bad again. (why am I still creeping out over the potato beetles..ugggghhhhh).
Rachel...how did the orange butterfly come out? Post a picture if you can!
Holly, just to let you know, I took your card to a friends house. When we were kids we were actually in a 4th of July parade on a float. I said to here "What does this make you remember"? We had a good laugh remembering how we tried NOT to fall of this big honking truck as it went 2 miles an hour down on the Main street in Beverly!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kerrianne..math and I don't do well together. I am in awe! I'm thinking of you today! Everyone else in my family can do math! I need a calculator at all times!
Well, as the saying goes, when it rains it pours. I had my manogram last week and there is a lump they want to do a biopsy on. I am going in on Tuesday. I'm sure it's nothing, they just want to investigate. At first, they said they would just wait and see how it looked in six months. But then they decided to take a closer look now. I'm a bit nervous, but that's normal. I really do feel that it's nothing. You know how you get "feelings" about stuff? I'm sure it's fine. 80% of biopsy results are normal. And the whole idea that they were not even going to do anything at first, means it can't be a "red flag" kinda thing. IF the very worse was to come of it...it is very small!!! Like the size of a pea.....smaller than a potato beetle...UGH on those things! LOL!

Karen! Glad to hear your Mom is home! that is wonderful!

I am glad they are checking out the lump. My mom is a 10 year breast cancer survivor. Yeah!!! I agree, it's probably nothing at all (esp. like you said since they weren't even really bothering with it at first), but still, it's better to get it all checked out! Keep us posted please!

Ribs on the grill tonight, and fresh sweet corn! YUM!!

Pictures? eeeeewwwwwwwwww no way!

Kidding! Clint's sister has a camera glued to her face most of the time, and my sister Raye too

Disposable cameras are a good idea!

I have gotten myself confused now.. I am chatting with one of my mother's cousins on FB, reading here, playing on Pogo all at the same time,

I will come back later! Sorry!

Hi Girls,

That lump is scary Karen - I am glad they are doing a biopsy, even though your feeling is probably correct. Maths wasn't so bad - a bit bewildering, but I think I will be fine once I get into it! I have made 10 Christmas cards today and will post copies tomorrow when the light is back. It is almost 5pm at the moment and starting to get dark. Bug came home from his Dad's today. Sheridon went to pick him up from the airport which is about an hour away. When she got there she called me to ask which flight he was on. I had no idea as the paper with the details on it was still on the kitchen bench. Of course DH was out and Bug didn't have his phone on. In the end I got a call from one of Bug's friends Mum, who said that his phone was dead (he had called from a phone booth) and he was outside the Qantas teminal. Absolutely hopeless!! Laurie - my favourite colour would have to be pumpkin pie or rich razzleberry. I have found myself using pink pirouette quite a bit lately, and now that I think about it, haven't used pumpkin pie for ages.......

I think I would not like them so much, and I don't think I will eat cereal for a few weeks. Thanks Vikki! Just kidding! Mice...ICK!!!

Think I will make pork chops in the slow cooker for dinner tomorrow night so we don't have to heat up the oven. Too darn hot. Wanted choc chip cookies too, but then the oven would go on. Nope. Not happening. Tonight is take out pizza night.

Pork Chop Casserole

4-6 pork chops (I use boneless.)
3 cups water
1 cup rice, uncooked
10 3/4 oz can of cream of something soup
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dried parsley
1/4 tsp pepper
(I also add an envelope of onion soup mix for added flavor.)

Saute pork chops in skillet until brown. Transfer to slow cooker.

Mix remaining ingredients and pour over chops in cooker.

Cover. Cook on Low 6-8 hours or High 3-4 hours.

Enjoy

Default Seven Layers of Sin

this is the recipe I said I had to share, I needed to edit off the restaurant name first

every other layer was Bittersweet chocolate, but I am allergic so I changed that too!

And on layer 6 I goofed up.. Layer 7 is the brandy and syrup

Definitely get cheese slices and chips.

Are you providing soda/pop? Will you need ice?

Decorations...you have the vases of flowers for the tables right? you may want some balloons, but know that the kids will play with them. Streamers? That is totally up to you. Can you get in the hall to decorate the night before? Some have rules about what kinds of decorations you can/cannot put up. Might want to check with them first.

I had helium balloon bouquets as my table center pieces, and the adult kids were having a blast with them. Floating them around the room and sucking the helium out. And someone stole all of the pretty marbles I had bought as the weights to keep them on the tables. I was highly impressed. My mother's family are such inconsiderate a-holes.

Make sure you remember table clothes for the tables with the food/cookies/card box/gift table/guest book, etc.....they should all match.

Make sure you remember serving utensils for all of the dishes. Nothing worse than having a bunch of salads and no spoons to serve them with. Been there, done that!

Will you have a large cooler to put the leftover food in after it's served so it doesn't spoil? You will need ice or cold packs for that as well unless there is a refrigerator at the hall you can use.

Again, make sure the gift table and card box are on the opposite side of the room from any entrance way. Not saying I don't trust people, but it's quite easy to slip stuff out the door when it's right by the door. I worked weddings at a restaurant for too many years and saw too much stuff happen. You would be amazed.....

What about music? Will there be dancing? Card playing? Just hanging out chatting?

Hmmm...sorry that got so long Vikki....

Creamer and sugar for the coffee and stir sticks (unless you just want them to use a spoon). Styrofoam cups for the coffee.

What you talkin' about??? Me, organized??? not so much! Thanks though!

I have funky beetles crawling around on my four o'clocks eating the leaves. I am not happy, and the beetles freak me out...kinda like moths do to Vikki.

Yep M&M's will definitely melt!

I am not fond of those beetles either... not as bad as Moths'.

Little Max caught a mouse last night.. damn cat thought it was a new playmate! LOL

Did I tell you girls he caught chipmunk while I was out in the garden... he brought it in the house and dropped it at Clint's feet.. STILL ALIVE!!!!!

It took us hours to find it and get it out!

We got another dog today. A 7 month old Dachshund/Lab mix
He is the funniest looking thing ever!

Short legs with HUGE paws and a BIG Labs head and this very short LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG body!
He's a good 4" shorter than Joker (the Beagle)

Chili dogs for supper, and a late one at that!

Now I think I am wrong! I'll get a pic tomorrow of what I have growing some one else has to tell me what they are LOL

i hate beetles...hate them! I've been scratching since I start reading. Laurie..I was afraid to open your picture of your flowers because I was worried there would be a picture of a pretty flower with A HUGE STINKING beetle on it! Beetles have "sticky" little legs so when you try to pull them off you they "stick" onto you....GROSS!!!!! At least the ones we have here in Massachusetts. And they FREAKING fly! UGHHHHHHHH. I only like ladybugs--and those are only ones I have a stamp image for. The real ones SMELL when you squish them. Ok...ok....going to my "good place" in my head where there are NO BEETLES.....
I'm having my biopsy today. Is it wrong I'm more concerned that I might not be able to stamp today than having the biopsy? I'm off today and tomorrow and I have some cool projects I need to work on. I'm planning on taking it easy for the rest of the day. The heat is still bad here. I want to be able to open the windows but that is not going to happen!!

Ok, so i gotta vent and get your opinions:

Just got off the phone with my mom, she said my SIL had called and told her the kids have strep, and " you need to have Holly take you both to make sure you and dad didnt catch it". Mom told her that if they feel they are sick they will go but not right now.

well, after i hung up the phone i said to myself "Oh no, HOLLY doesnt need to take them, LINDA needs to take them. they are HER kids and she knew they were sick and should have kept them home over the weekend and away from the parents"

and that is exactly what i plan to tell mom should she call and say they need to go

AM I WRONG?????

i mean if you know your kids are sick, KEEP THEM HOME!!! Right????

ok, let me shed a little light on this SIL. she works weekends, and Brother dear goes over to the folks to take dad out on errands. mom watches the kids, and cooks dinner(and cleans behind)for all of them EVERY Sat and Sun, on top of all of dads full time needs.......BUT, when they ask dear SIL for a ride some where or help with something, she says no, or does it then **tches about it........... its all about her and what she wants, never cares about anyone elses neeeds or returning favors..............

so anywho, i feel if the folks get sick, SHE shoudl take them to the Dr while the kids are in school, which by the way, she has been sending them there sick as well........some one needs to slap her....LOL..............

I would be happy to smack her a good one, and I agree fully. She knew the kids were sick, and she had no business sending them to your parents. She should take them to the doc if the need arises. What a POW (piece of work).

That's what friends are for Holly. To listen, support and encourage one another (and occassionally smack nitwit SIL's).
