good to see you Kerriann,

please dont worry too much over the bills....i know we all do at some point, which we shouldnt....try to take some time just for you, you really need it after being sick and all, even if it is just to stay in jammies and watch movies!

so, you are now headed into spring as we get ready for winter! i am ready for chilly temps myself. we have a few repairs here on our place to be done too before it gets too cold to do any of it.

anywho, take care now you hear??? we need our sister from down under!!!

It's only 9:40 and already the day has gone down the tubes. The shouting, swearing and other verbal nasties has already started. All because I want to drive myself to a wedding so that when the pain gets to be more than I can bear, I will be able to leave. But it's all about him getting home without getting picked up. So maybe he needs to control HIS consumption.

Oh Sue! I so do not miss those days at all. I can't believe he still doesn't see his "problem". Wow. I would drive yourself anyways. You need to take care of you. Hugs, and I hope the day gets better sweetie.

Barb, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! I hope you have a most fabulous day. The weather is beautiful just in time for your birthday (just a tad breezy is all!).

Holly, I am so glad you got that wheel in a trade. There are so many uses for it! I love to use it on baby cards with a giraffe image, or on fish cards, well, lots of them anyways! ENJOY!

Our trees are starting to get pretty! Our oak tree is turning really pretty red this year, and the maple out front usually just turns yellow, but I see this year it's going to give us a bit of orange as well. The maple is half dead though, so it will be coming down this fall or early spring. The woodpeckers and squirrels will be VERY disappointed! We think at some point it got hit by lightening. It's just odd. Anyways....there they are! (Maple is first pic, Oak is second pic)

do you have to use only the box mixes?

with winter coming i am in the mood for hot buttery fresh bread!
My bread machine is a Sunbeam. It makes 3 different sizes of the loaf. (1#, 1-1/2# or 2#). It came with a recipe book and I only use that. No boxed mixes for me. The only thing I have to buy special is a jar of yeast, otherwise I always have everything else in my kitchen.

I also love the fact that there is a buzzer that goes off so that I don't have to worry about overbaking the bread. I can also make just the dough only. That way I can do bread rolls if I want.

The cookbook also has recipes for sweet dough, pizza crust and much more. I have made the pizza crust and it is delish, just not big enough for my household.

gorgeous cards ladies! I really need to make something this time home. No furniture to move, and hopefully I can leave my room the way it is for just one day!

Now for my really important question.. how do you cook a whole chicken.
Clint hates soup, doesn't care for BBQ sauce and only eats white meat.

i was thinking of just stuffing it and baking it.

Glad you liked it. It is Melon Mambo, first time using that color. By the way, as a soul sister to pain right now...make sure you care for YOURSELF first. It's more important you can go home when you need to for your pain. If you over-do, you will have to pay the price for days forward (at least I would). If he wants to indulged in the spirits, he can do that a bit closer to home. You need to make sure you are taking care of yourself and your pain!

BEST THING IN THE WORLD! Stuffing and chicken with some gravy! Why mess with that wonderful comfort cooking?

I was a lil bit naughty today and bought myself (with my 50% off coupon) a Cuttlebug Embossing Plus folder. It is going to go very well with the Love Without End (retired SU) stamp set, and it embosses & cuts at the same time. I watched two you tube videos to make sure I use it correctly, and it is super easy! I hope to make a kit with it quick tonight. I am falling behind today and am so tired.

Ok, here are the pictures. First is the folder itself. It's called Perfect Perennials. The folder is 4+6 actually. There is a flap on the back of it that you can lift to color the embossed part before you take it out of the folder. I am told it's made of metal. Looks plastic to me, but what do I know. There is a great tutorial on You Tube I will try to find later and post.

Second is the card I made with it (another kit for OWH). I hope you can see the embossing detail. SU Chocolate Chip & Cameo Coral and PTI Vintage Cream (I think is what they call it).

Third is the piece that is cut out...that lil square window in the card. I'm not sure yet what I will do with these pieces, but they sure are cute!
Sorry that's a lil blurry.

I drove myself. Went only to the wedding and reception. Left before the dance even started. I took a pain pill right before the wedding. Then at the reception I had a couple of cocktails - one before the meal and one after.

Something I ate at the reception didn't agree with me, so was glad I decided to come home. Then I got so cold, I couldn't get warm. Even threw an extra blanket on the bed and it didn't help. Still feeling cold today. Hope I didn't pick up a bug of some kind.

I had a wonderful time! I got to the church kind of late, so I sat with a long-time friend - haven't seen her in about 4yrs. I didn't sit in the front pew with Larry and his ex-wife (there wasn't room because 3 of the grands were sitting there too. I didn't have a problem with that, because I was sitting on the aisle and could see wonderfully.

When I got to the reception, I bought myself a cocktail and found a seat where I could see everything that was going on. Shelly didn't have a wedding cake, she had tiers of cupcake sized cheesecakes in about 6 or 7 different flavors. Larry did join me to eat. We sat at the table with his two brothers and his sister. That was great. Lots of chatter and laughter. Larry's next younger brother is 1 day older than me. We were both born at the same hospital too. Such a small world.

I only stayed until about 7:30, then my hip was starting to ache, so rather than take another pain pill, I said my goodbyes, handed out hugs to his girls and left.

All in all, a very pleasant evening for me.

Morning Girls

Well Bug is back to school today for the last term of the year.
I am making myslef get into a better routine starting today. I have already hung out the washing that I did overnight and watered the pot plants in the outdoor area. I am going to write myself a weekly list and MAKE myself stick to it. I have to mop floors today. It has been so windy the last few days and they feel yucky to walk on from the dust. Also a little bit of paperwork to catch up on - and the ironing.
Barb - hope you had a lovely day.
Sue - glad you enjoyed the wedding and didn't get too much flak afterwards.
Laurie - I really like that folder - and the card....

Cuttlebug Embossing Plus - YouTube
She goes on a bit, but it's a good demonstration of how to use the folder.

Emboss PLUS - Provo Craft's Cuttlebug Embossing Plus - YouTube
This one is shorter and more to the point...

I can't get YouTube videos to load - blasted, rotten dial-up.

I've been looking at those folders, but wasn't sure I needed to add them to my collection. I have more folders than I use.

Your card looks great tho.

She pretty much just shows that it embosses and cuts and shows how you can apply the ink after you run it thru your cuttlebug/Big Shot. I think if you bought a folder you could figure it out yourself. I just wanted to make sure I had the correct side facing up.

Good Afternoon--it has been a great few days for my birthday weekend-but awhile since I have been on SCS. Friday night we went to Illinois to watch my godson play football--and got home pretty late. Saturday morning I went to the stamp show in Milwaukee and it was OK--less and less booths every year and not really too much new to see. But, I got to spend some time with my SCS buddy Terry. We then went over to visit a friend, Claudia, who had surgery on her foot on Friday and needs to be off of it for 8 weeks--Yikes! We watched the Brewers win their first game of the playoffs. Then off to a fundraiser--Racket for the Cure--at an athletic club that some friends had organized. We helped with the auctions/raffles--then watched the Badgers whoop Nebraska last night!

Today, after church, we met some friends for brunch. We then went to a church converted to a house that an interior designer owns and she was hosting a sale on furnishings, antiques, etc.--did not get anything, but her house and gardens were incredible. Stopped back at Claudia's house to watch part of the Packer game and pick up her trailer to use for garden "stuff". Just watched the Packers win big and now watching the Brewer game---it is currently tied! Nice to be home after 2 days of out and about--

So, a great weekend for my birthday and to be a sports fan in Wisconsin! Hope you had a good one too!

Barb, I didn't win a thing today, but Roxie, her sister Pam, and Pam's soon to be daughter in law all won! Lora's Mom was there, and Lora's friend and co-worker Donna who is super nice. The special is buy one get two at half off. So, that's what I did! Supporting our dear friend Lora's business!

It's been such a busy weekend again. I am so overtired, and it's causing headaches. That's ok, sometime after May 1, 2012 I will have time to rest again!

Good Morning Ladies--Hope your Monday is starting out great!

I need to cut the grass this morning--everyone in our neighborhood cut theirs over the weekend, but too many things to do for us to take the time. I guess that is what is nice about being retired--I can do those things during the "work week"! I also have some grocery shopping and a trip to Office Depot. But this afternoon, I plan to start on some card kits for the OWH event.

Our grass needs cutting too Barb, but Tom is on day 11 in a row working. He is just so tired. Thankfully tomorrow is his last day...unless someone else gets hurt. He is just burning out though! Anyways...I still love the smell of fresh cut grass!

It's a beautiful day out side, and I will enjoy what I can from looking out my window!

ahhh yes fresh Cut Grass! I love that smell too. Always wished they'd make a room freshener of it!

We are off to get my poor car fixed, I got a few cards done last night, I start a tri shutter and lost of the digi pieces I had printed out at wortk, since my printer and computer are on a brief separation I couldn't just print another, so I spent a ton of time searching for it! Found face down (white card stock) so I wonder how many times I'd looked at it and moved on.... grrr

Love ya gals! Try to visit more later!
