That sounds like a fun place Holly! Have a great time!

We are grilling steaks tonight, and my Mom is stopping over to have dinner with us.

I hope to get inky this afternoon and tomorrow. We shall see if that works out.

ohhhh Laurie..I am sorry. I have not forgotten you. I had to work this morning so I couldn't make it to the post office! My next day off is Tuesday. Your re-inker will be in the mail then.
I've just finished making mac salad. Late this afternoon I am heading to my sisters for my Mom's bday party. She's turning 82. I hope I have a birthday card I can use. It has gotten cooler here also. That will be good for my mom.
Hey...Kerrianne--How are you doing with those kittens?

Karen, honest...no worries! When you get time is fine. Honest!

Salad sounds good! Hope your Mom has an enjoyable birthday! YEAH!!! I still enjoy by birthday!

I know Vikki has been working the past few days. We will hopefully see her pop in tonight or tomorrow.

I need to get working on my next batch of Christmas cards.

Gable Green...one of my very favorite SU greens! Nice!

Hi Girlies,
linch was good, traffic coming back was bad with beach go-ers, added an extra 45 mins to the trip! we almost never go that way on a summer weekend, so had forgotten how it gets!

now we are getting some much needed rain, and i am sleepy!

Hey holly! Did I ever thank you for the 4th of July card? I loved how it looked like a float in a parade. You are one talented chick! Thank you!

I cut some cardstock for Christmas cards, but I am running out of ambition quickly! I had every good intention to stamp more, but I guess...it's only 1pm...still tons of day left to stamp!

Holly, yes, the 4th of July card is adorable! My Mom really liked it too! Nice job!

I'm sitting in my craft room....looking at all my paper...house is clean (somewhat)....looking for my majo.....can't seem to start a card...gotta go find my mojo. I will hate if I waste this whole day doing nothing!
Last night we had the windows open and the ac off, it was so nice. Heat is back so the windows are closed and the ac is back on. The way the weather report looks here, I don't think I'll be shutting them off till September!

Okay, I spent two hours making one craft project that could be a Christmas gift. I was pretty pleased with the outcome. Even though we have AC ...I was still sweating after I was done. The heat is so bad it is seeping through the ac. I wish we could open our windows again tonight but the temp right now is 81 degrees and it's 9pm. My ankle (the one I broke really really bad) is hurting something awful....I hope that means that rain and relief is on the way!

Oh Karen, I am so sorry it's so icky out by you! We've had the ac on for what seems like forever. It's been raining here most of the afternoon. We will be in the low 80's for monday and Tuesday, but then right back to hot and humid. UCK.

I didn't know you broke your ankle really bad. That stinks!

Hi Girls,
I have been AWOL for a few days as I went to visit my cousin and her family. Thank Rachel & Holly for the cards. I forgot about them until I went through the pile on my desk today. I got home on Thursday and then spent until this morning in bed with a fluey thing. I had a rest after lunch today, so am feeling human again now.
My cousin lives about an hour and a half away and it was absolutely freezing there while we were away. They live not far from where I grew up and I had forgotton how cold the days are. We get lower minimums here, but our days are warmer, whereas they seem to stay about the same the whole 24 hours. I just sat inside most of the day and talked to my Aunty and Sheridon went horse riding with my cousin and her kids.
I am glad you tried the Vegemite - you are fairly right with your 'taste' - it is basically yeast extract which is most of those things. Yes, a little bit does go a long way, although some poeple do spread it quite thickly.
I have been trying to get my paperwork and filing up to date as June 30 is our end of year. Not much fun today when my head still felt a bit like wadding!

Hopefully today you will feel better Kerriann. Glad you checked in. I get worried when we go missing for a few days! I bet the horse riding did a world of good for Sheridon. Things going ok so far with her living with you?

Well...talk about a small world--I'm posting from the hospital. I'm fine but my Mom got scratched by her cat and got a very bad infection(um, does that sound familiar to someone here?). She will be here for a couple of days for IV meds. The infection got into her bloodstream --which was not good. She's 81, and not in the best of health to begin with. I'll post back later!

hello again! I'm home for the night. Can I be a bit honest here? I'm a bit worried. The nurse checked her and her arm is more swollen tonight and her fever is up?? So the nurse texted the doctor and they increased her meds. I'm sure she will be fine....she's just not in the best of health to begin with. She has Alzheimer's and this is a bit confusing to her. She has good long term memory but really not much short term memory. I am sure that she'll be fine. I tend to worry too fast on these kind of things. I was sure she was going to be relased tomorrow but now that is not looking so good. I'm sure it's totally me being a worry wort!

Karen, this would be very worrying for you, especially as your Mum wouldn't really understand what is going on around her. Have a good nights sleep and don't start worrying unless she is still the same tomorrow when you see her.

Hi Karen,
sending you big hugs ((((((HUGS)))))).

its so scary to have parents in the hosp, you are not being a worry wort, its natural!
i hope you got at least a little sleep and things are better today.

maybe you could spend tonight in your moms room if she has to stay again. they let us do that with my dad a few times when he was in. three of us in three ugly old recliners stuffed in his room wasnt the best arrangement but we were together and made him more realxed too.

if we lived closer i would come and be with you, keep you company. or run errands or whatever so you could rest a bit, not that that is easy, i know......

keep us posted when you can.............

Karen, sorry sweetie! My eyes gave me fits yesterday, so not a lot of computer time after work. I sure hope all is better with your Mom this morning. Hopefully the doc can give you a good update. I agree with Holly, might help if you stay over. We did that when my dad was in the hospital too. Ditto the recliners part! Hang in there!

Hey ladies! Sorry I've been AWOL, it seems like every time we have a liiiiittle bit of sun I have a hard time being inside! Not to mention, I think my mojo is on vacation with Karens! I also had a big ole novel post all written last night, then my computer crashed!

Speaking of Karen, Oh my heart goes out to you! ((hugs)) Cat scratches and bites are super scary, I had a friend that had bona fide Cat Scratch Fever. It was a lot like Chronic Fatigue, and the poor gal was only 18!

Kerriann - ((hugs)) to you too! You need a nice big bowl of soup and a foot massage! Tell your hubs to get right on that!

My trip to visit my folks was great, but of course too short. I got to hang out with my Dad for a bit, too, usually he's working or gone when I visit! Between spending 6 hours in the airport leaving, and being back at the airport by 4:30am to come back home two days later, it felt like I spent more time travelling than actually visiting. heh

I'm trying to figure out a way to get my stamping stuff outside without all my papers blowing away... heehee! We're so starved for warm, sunny weather up here that as soon as 4:30 rolls around I'm running outside to play with the dogs! Last weekend we worked in the garden and then hung out at the lake with a friend all afternoon. Of course, as soon as we got to the lake, we got caught into a downpour!! We had a blast though, so it was definately worth it.

The girls up here get together once a month to do a Make-n-Take and have a potluck, and I'm bringing a non-stamping friend, so I need to make two card samples and get all the parts cut for 5 people. By SATURDAY!! LOL I have a couple of ideas, and when I asked my friend to give me a color and an object, she said *orange* and butterflies! That's where my mojo is flagging... and believe it or not, I actually have very little orange paper! LOL

Have a good night ladies! Wish me luck!

Hello friends! I am tired..a bit sappy...but I have to say..you're wishes for my Mom's health honesty touched me. I really was touched by your words of encouragment. Thank you so much. It truely made me calm down and not spin outta control with worry!
Mom is doing better, but it will be a slow crawl for a bit. She will still be in the hospital for a while. As the doctor said..."it's a game of red rover" right now. Sometimes the meds are gaining..sometimes the infection. But he is positive that the meds will win. So she will swell up a bit...her fever will go up a bit...but everytime it will be a bit less than less time. She looked so much better today...SOOOOO MUCH! She was cursing and swearing and flirting with all the male nurses...AHHHH! That's the Mom I know! I think I was expecting her to be home today....uh...no! But that's ok. She's getting what she needs, and also becoming cranky! Who knew I'd be so happy for her to complain that it's "too cold in here!"!!!!!!! LOL
I'm going back to work tomorrow and will visit her after work. I will take my laptop and catch up on you all. Quickly..glad to see you Rachel! Glad to hear from Kerrianne...I will read more of your posts tomorrow night.
I know you understand Laurie...But I have to say I HAVE NOT forgotten your re-inker! Holly, and Laurie, thanks for the idea to stay over at the hospital. She has a much better sense of herself now that we will wait and see how it goes if we need to stay over. My brother stayed tonight till she feel asleep..and she will sleep through the night with her meds.
Love to you all! Karen

Holy Hannah we had some awesome storms today! We took a quick stroll down to the garden between rain showers, and discovered we have a HUGE batch of potato beetles!! Waaaahhhhh!!! It looks like I'll be pickin bugs after dinner tonight... how appetizing

I'm pretty excited about the VSN coming up, the Mini VSN is on 7/30 and the major one is 8/27 and 8/28. My challenge is on 8/27 and I'm so stoked!! heehee The theme is Summertime In The Land That I Love, so it's all sort of summertime activities as the inspiration for the different challenges.

I managed to get one of my two cards done today, so now I have to tackle the orange butterfly one.... hopefully it comes out a little simpler than the other I came up with! I'll post pictures as soon as I get the second one figured out! Happy Stamping gals!

Northern Wisconsin is getting hit with what you had earlier Rachel. Glad you are ok!

Potato beetles. I miss Dad's home grown potatoes. He would get those lil buggers too. I remember him picking them into an old coffee can. Not sure what he ever did with them after that. I just know they frustrated him, but you can't beat home grown potatoes! YUM! Thanks for the happy memory!

I might have to see if I can play VSN that weekend!

Hi!

I have to be quick.. I am at work. I actually am working a full week! WOOOO WHOOO

Rachel.. bats and some birds do not bother me. Moths now... OMG! No way! Don't get me started on June Bugs either YUCK!

Good idea on challenging your self to not spending. I joined a "support" group where we keep track of what we use without buying and give ourselves credits for it. Take away points for purchases, including adhesives.
Seeing the actual numbers puts this craft in a whole new light and makes me more aware of my spending.

Wedding planning is stressful! RODEX take me away! LOL

Holly nobody seems to want to 'loan' me chairs and tables for an outdoor event, they all have a price. and it came out to be tons cheaper teo just change the location of it all to the town hall.
I get tables, chairs, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen and a/c!

Everyone had actuallly joked about me having an outdoor wedding and butterflies crashing it! One could even land on me... I'd DIE! OMG

Crockpot Lasagna is the way to go in the summer. I actually use the no boil pasta and do it that way alot!

Karen I know what you mean about making cards and not mailing them.... I have to boxes full!
Although I haven't made a card since what now... April? May? OMG I am so lazy! and no MOJO

I printed out July and August calendar pages, scribbled out the days I work and counted Sundays asa half day, since I can do very little on a Sunday. I have less than 20 days to be organized. OMG I do not feel stress.... I do not feel stress.... I do not feel stress

ROTFLMAO I do know the Evil Monkey! too funny!

Hey Kerriann how is Sheridon doing?

Ooops.. be right back!

OMG LAurie, I have a pee your pants story about Potato Beetles!

When DD whas about 6, we went to the grand parents farm and geat grama had a 3 acre garden. We were walking out early morning and Carrie found one of those bugs and freaked, so she buried it in the sand.

We were all the way down at the other end of the garden and she saw another one and really flipped out! She start4ed screaming, that it had found her was gonna get her for burying it! She ran all the way back to the house and stayed inside the rest of the day!

Uff da! I got here early so I could chat some and catch up, but a very needy customer come in and I have been with her since!

Now as for the wedding questions...
(x) Judge
(x) Location - changed and organized
(x) Cupcakes - figure I will bake them the day before so they are still fresh?????
(-) My attire, not a clue yet! Very unlikely I will wear a dress though
(x) Flowers - I planted 7 daisy plants plus God had a bunch behind my house I am hoping will be blooming the day of!
(-) Shoes - I HAVE to wear shoes? OMG No please don't make me! LOL
(x) Something Old - I hae Clint's grandmothers wedding band, does that count?
(x) Something New - My older sister Teresa is beading me a hair piece, it will be blue with a white daisy
(-) Something Borrowed.....
(-) Something Blue.......
(-) Attendants? Not sure Ii am having any???? Clints Maternal grand Parents are our wittnesses, is that what you mean?
(x) Rings, we are having tatoos done the week before the wedding, I have them all designed out
(x) Tables for gifts, cards and guest book. Hadn't thought about gifts, but the other is covered! LOL

IMO Pennies are very bad luck! Back when I worked for a demolition recycling company I had picked one up and said "see a penny pick it up and the rest of the day have good luck"
Well 2 hours later back on the job site I slipped and ened up with 60+ stitches from my knee all the way up to my crotch!
I have never picked up a penny since!

Seriously with my luck, it will rain the day of! LOL

Okay now, I only have one Duck so I can't play Duck Duck Goose, it's more like Goose, Goose, Goose, Goose, Goose, Goose, Goose, Goose, Goose, Duck! LOL

Kerriann, I busted up over your comment that Browny believes we aren't all imaginery! LOL
I remember when he was worried that I was gonna learn too much! LOL

Clint does make me happy, but lately his health is causing me great worry! Long story, and not one for today!

Thank you Karen for all the compliments!

oooh Rich Razzleberry and Brownies! Sounds delish! LOL

Oh! Speaking of delish, I have a recipe to share, but it can not be through SCS, Gimme email addies!

I am thinking I of making up a weekly question.... Laurie asked, How many Christmas Cards we make. Has everyone answered that one?

I will come back to that one! Anyone else have a question for this week????

Head a spin? OMG that is so putting it mildly! LOL

Karen, lets see, House Work vs Stamping.....Tough decison. NOT! I'd take anything over housework!

I'm in for Breakfast - a good old fashion sit down chit chat visit!

Oh, I love Pixar movies too!

I agree Pinks are too light, I still love Black, Grey, Burgundy and Pink all together

Hey! Being Nosy is my favorite hobby!

Holly I am so sorry! i have not thaked you for the card! Love those ladies!

Karen, I hope your mom is alright now!

Foot massage? WHere? I want one!

Holly, tonight is dinner and a movie (in backwards order though) with my BFF. We are going for Chinese. We are going to see Grownups. I think it looks hilarious! Can't wait...that and some good dinner and awesome company should be a great way to start my weekend.

Karen, please post when you get time.

Vikki, you don't HAVE to wear a dress...but clothes of some sort are highly recommended. Yes, Clint's grandparents are your attendants, so X that off the list. Shoes...um, well....at least during the ceremony??? Blue underwear count!

Hi Girls,
Thought I would just check in before my busy weekend begins. I made some cards with a friend yesterday - nothing exciting. Sunday I am supposed to be going to a "Christmas in July" card making, but I am not sure if I wll get there for the whole day.
Today I am off to uni (Yes, it is Saturday) for a maths refresher workshop. I am doing a statistics subject this semester and need to relearn algebra etc. I have the headache tablets packed with my lunch! I have a roast in the slow cooker and when I get home I get to have a shower and take the food to a friends place for dinner. DH and DSD will already be there - DH and his friend are making chilli paste, which is their little 'thing'.
Tomorrow, Bug flies home from his Dad and Canberra and Monday is back to school. I have to go into Brisbane to see a Doctor on MOnday, then uni starts for me on November. This semester I have classes on Tuesday afternoon and then from 8am until 6pm on Wednesday with a 2 hour break in the middle - I am not really looking forward to that. I did have it planned to have 6 hours each day, but they have moved classes around. Uni is only 15 minutes from home, but I am going to have to be really organised!

Hugs to all - especially you Vicki Jo
