laurie..you owe me nothing!!!! It's one less thing I have to move to get to the stuff I REALLY do use. I'll send it out next week..no wait...I'm in seattle next week. I will send it the week after if I don't get it out Monday before I go.
On another note...GREAT NEWS...is I was smart enough to move the party tomorrow out of my yard with the green water and instead we are going to meet up for pizza and beer at our favorite pizza joint. Will be just as much fun and sooooo less stress for me.

Anything that means less stress is good in my book!

Karen, thanks for the reinker. FYI...I will pay the favor forward. I am a firm believer in a few things...God, karma, and paying it forward.

It says it's 81 degrees, but let me tell you, it feels much warmer, and I had to turn the air conditioner back on. It was nice to get some fresh air in the house, but I just cannot take the hot weather. I think it's actually a lot warmer than 81.

I am heading out to TGI Friday's for dinner with my friend Christine, and then we are going to a stamping party. have a great night everyone!

ohhh...Laurie sounds like a WONDERFUL night. I was suppose to go to my sister's for a stamping party, but we are still waiting for the dealership to call saying his car is ready. My sister lives about an hour away so that kinda makes it impossible. BUT, Katie is due home very soon. Then we are going to a cookout/firepit friday dinner at a friends house. They are the best! Jim is still working on the pool..still a beautiful green color. Honestly, I don't even care anymore now that no one is coming here tomorrow and we've moved the party. He called the pool place and they told to completely take apart the filter and start from scratch. That's better than what we were thinking--we thought we were going to have to dig up the yard and replace the pipes. I hope this will work.
I totally love "paying it forward", makes the day so much nicer when I've done a random act of kindness. Enjoy your stamping party tonight...make sure you show us what you make!

Happy Saturday! It's warm out but the humidity is way down! Love that! I guess we had some big storms roll thru again last night between 2 and 4am). I apparently slept thru it which is very unlike me. Oh well. Laundry is going, and Tom needs to wake up from his nap and get the grass cut. Lazybones!

Well, isn't that goofy. I was just curious. Thanks!

I had a busy day, but tomorrow should be full of stamping if I can motivate to get working on my Christmas cards.

It's still quite warm out, so we are waiting for a bit to take Cheyenne for her walk. She isn't pleased about it.

I just found a tutorial on a blog that I follow that i am going to use for Christmas cards I think. I just don't know about making square cards...that's kinda out of my "norm". So, I have to ponder on that for a bit. I would use the Serene Snowflakes set and probably either purple or blue. I do a snowflake card every year. I try to make three or four designs.

How many cards do you make for Christmas? Do you make them all the same? Just curious!

Laurie, i am so glad you are safe through those storms, my heart goes out to those who had losses.....

Vikki, LOVE the wedding programs...BEAUTIFUL!

Karen, how did the Graduation party go?

Kerriann, LOVE the crafts

things are well here at the moment, we've been havign summer storms but not near what Lauries area had! and our "heat index" has taken us into the 100's some days! YUCK........very smeltering! this is Aug weather, not the end of june!

i had a night last week where all the running and appts and heat had me just absolutely drained! well, the next day no one had "needs", so i slept in a bit, turned off the phone and stayed in jammies all day and in between a few light chores, i sewed...yay! was great therapy.
and in the evenigns when theres nuthin on TV i sew too for a bit. i will post pics shortly

Holly...that is one HUGE moth..but beautiful! I've never seen a lunar moth before except in text books. Also, your pocketbooks AS ALWAYS are beautiful.
I will be MIA this week until Friday. I'm traveling to Seattle on business tuesday morning until thursday. 3 days, but it will totally screw me up. I don't do well with Jet lag. I'm fine on the way out..it's when I get home that I'm totally off track. I'm going from the coast of Massachusetts to the other side of the country. I'll wave when I fly over your home states -- if I go by them.

That moth is AWESOME! I have never seen anything like it. Very cool.

Have a safe trip too and from Karen. Please let us know you are home OK. I have a tenancy to worry otherwise.

Holly, the bags are so cute! You really do a nice job!

Mitch moved out over the weekend, but I feel ok about it all now.
Had an issue with the kittens this morning. We a having a family reunion on March (my Father's Mother's family) I am the keeper of the original wedding photo and also have the brush and comb set that Nana received for her 21st birthday. I had them all packaged up in lots of newspaper etc so that I could drop them off at a 'cousins' place when I go home next week. The kittens knocked them off the chair and they were laying flat on the floor. I awoke to DH (no "H" at the moment) saying - Mum won't be happy about that. I quickly rushed the package into the kitchen and got all the newspaper off. H was complaining that there was now cat pee on the kitchen floor, i was standing in it, it was in the bread bag etc. All I cared about was the fact that I had a 70 year old photo that may have been ruined. Luckily all was saved, but H tried to make a joke out of the the fact that I was not happy by saying that Nana and Grandad didn't look happy either. Hah bloody hah - of course they didn't - no one smiled in photos back then. I would have thrown a knife, but they were too far away and my HRT medication is helping me with that sort of thing!!!!
Have a great rest of the weekend......

I know you well enough to know that your are joking! Seriously, though is anyone else going through the menopause thing? I had a hysterectomy early last year which I knew would bring on early menopause, but I never realised the sysmptoms could be so horrid. The night sweats - honestly, who wants to change sheets at 3 in the morning - didn't that stop when kids stopped wetting the bed. And the hot flusshes are just ridiculous. The testosterone never seem to know what sort of mood I will be inwhen they get home. I am sure they take bets!. I am trialling HRT, but am a bit concerned about some of the side effects. That combined with depression makes for a pretty dysfunsctional - I choose the word interesting - family life! The only good thing that I can see fromn it all is that I only starting menstratuting at 15, and had the hysterectomy at 42, so I have had many less years of the horrid 'monthlys' than most.....

Oh dear Kerriann! I am so sorry to laughing my butt off right now!

Changing sheets in the middle of te night due to kids.. cracks me up!
Nah.. I have to get up at 6 am to do it cuz the dog couldn't hold it and wanted me up, so he PEED ON ME!

I am so mad at that dog, I will not pet him or even look at him. It's been a couple weeks and Clint thinks I should have gotten over it by now... not a chance!

Oooooh girls I'm so sorry I've been MIA!! I read my email about the "thread updates" every single morning, but SCS is blocked on my work computer, so I have to wait until after work to come and post! And then, of course, I'm so fed up with my computer that I end up running outside to go play in the sunshine!!

Holly - OhMyGOSH! that moth is beautiful!!! Love the bags, too, they turned out so cute! What do you do for the center of the square, do you just do an X and then outline around the outsides? I have some fabric in my stash that is just BEGGING to be made into a bag like this, but my get up and go got up and went!

Karen - This may end up a day late and a dollar short, but I drink lots of water when I'm travelling thru time zones, and it really seems to help with the jet lag. The only part of Seattle I've seen was the inside of the airport on my way to Vancouver.... and of course, I had a friend meet me there and what did we have?? Starbucks!

Kerriann - *gasp* about the photos!! You'd think the hubs would be a liiiiiiittle more sympathetic, but they never are, are they? There's a blog I read that had a post about an Old School Photo A Day project, where you scan one old photo every day for a month, this way they are able to be shared with family instead of hiding in our stash! I'm planning to do that for July; we'll see if I even make it to the 15th!! LOL And as far as the "change," don't think of them as hot flashes, think of them as POWER SURGES!!! Either that or your own personal tropical vacation.... where's my cabana boy?!?

Vikki - ohmygosh you cracked me up with the dog peeing on you!!! That's horrible yet funny! My mastiff decided to pee on the bed once.... I swear she has a 32 oz bladder! We have one of those Sleep Number Beds and thankfully had a matress pad on it since you can't launder those!! And don't feel bad about the flying things phobia.... I have a good friend that is TERRIFIED of bats and birds!!

Laurie - Oh no, why the eye-sore-ness?? You poor thing, I'm on my computer every single day (have to be) and know how much of a pain it is when your eyes are bugging you. My allergies seem to affect my eyes more than my sinuses, so I can definately tell when the pine trees are pollinating!

On the Christmas Card note, I send out 88 cards each year. I had this *brilliant* idea of doing 8 a month until November, then using the last two months to make gifts and such..... Well, that lasted until February and then I got fed up with winter. Right now I have pieces cut for 48 Christmas Cards, but I'm thinking of selling them in groups of 10 and using them as donations for the various fundraisers I participate in. All in all I actually have 36 of my 88 done, but there's still a ways to go. I pointed out to my hubs that my Christmas paper is a larger chunk of my stash than all other papers combined!! Christmas stamps, too... there's just something about it! I love Christmas!

I made a deal with the hubs that I *may* come to regret soon.... I picked up (on clearance) the book Supply Savvy Scrapbooking by Erin Lincoln (Creating Keepsakes) and she mentions in the forward that she challenged herself to create 100 layouts with only the supplies she had on hand, no new purchases, no accepted "gifts," nada. She was trying to use up some of the huge stash she has. I mentioned it to my husband (BIG mistake) and asked how long he thought I could go without buying anything but adhesive and solid color cardstock to go with my existing papers. He said three months... I didn't know he could be so cruel!! LOL So now I'm challenging myself to use only what I have for July, August and September. *Sigh* I'm gonna have to keep myself from surfing! The up side is, he said he'd buy whatever was on my wish list at one of my favorite websites if I made it through the whole three months! I just made a trip with the girls to Crafts Direct in St. Cloud, MN and got my fix, so I should be okay as of July 1!

I'm off to visit my Mom in Vegas on Friday, just a quick weekend trip so I'll be back on Monday. The trouble is, they have some AWESOME scrappy stores out there, and I can't make any purchases after the First!! WAAAHHHH!!!! Not that Mom wouldn't pick it up *for* me, but that would be considered a "gift" and is against the rules! That hubs of mine is so tough on me! LOL

You ladies have a Fabulous weekend!! Talk to you soon! *Hugs!*

Rachel, HI! Good to see you! I hope you have a great trip and fun times with your Mom. As far as your "novel"...no worries! It's nice to get caught up.

My eye feels better today. I am thankful. Last year my retina detached in that eye, and I guess sometimes I just maybe overuse it. Doc said it could easily take a year to heal, and we are still about a month out on that. I have also been using the computer a LOT more at work, and I think that is seriously the reason it's sore.

Ok...what else is new with everyone?

I make about 80 to 100 Christmas cards. I hope to donate some to Ronald McDonald House and to Operation Write Home this year. I just need to get goin'!

HELP!!

We have had cats in our house forever, but it is about 18 years since we had kittens. Grey was a stray who was house trained, so she was never an issue. When Sheridon arrived to live her, so did 2 approx 13 week old male kittens. At first they were pretty good with the kitty litter, and then they learned to use the cat flap. The problem is that the cat flap doesn't work when it is cold, because the people who owned the house before us put it on the screen door. Now they are using the litter sometimes and we are putting them outside regularely, but they seem to have a thing for MY bed!!!! DH has been away and is not too troubled as, well, he has been away. (and there were also issues that could have been major with our truck, but turned out not to be, so cat pee is not high on his list) He says getting then neutered will fix the problem, but they also like the been bags for no. 2's, which I doubt the neutering will fix??
Any advice?
