Kerriann, no offense, but weddings are much easier! The bummer is they are over so darn fast. Plan for days and weeks and months, and BAM...it's come and gone already!

I would love to help. I know you have tons going on!

ohh...I swear I can smell those muffins! Right, the rings! You're one smartie artie Holly! I wouldn't have thought of it. Laurie..I like the idea of the 2am rain...that's perfect.
Rachel..glad to hear from you! Your hair sounds like mine!
VIcki....soooooo exciting all the wedding things. Your head must be in a spin. We will all be your "virtual bridesmaids"..lol!
My sister is on her way over so I can get a sneak peek at the new SU cataloge...I'm so excited! It reminds me of how when I was a kid at Christmas time we would mull over the Toys r us Christmas flyers...LOL. She's also bringing me some of all the new colors...guess what I'll be doing on Sunday? STAMPING!
Well, I need to get off my butt and go buy bagels for this morning. Enjoy the day, everyone!

I hate housework too. Especially dusting and washing the floors. YUCK!

Strawberry muffins turned out good. Found out my baking powder was expired...that would probably be why they didn't rise very well. Still taste yummy though.

It's getting warmer and more humid here. YUCK. I don't do well in that kind of weather. I need to work on finishing two swaps tomorrow, and I need to kick it in high gear to make Christmas cards. I usually do the 10 a month thing, but I haven't even started yet! We cut back 10 cards last year and another 10 this year, so I will only need about 80 cards. I do want to make some for Operation Write Home and Ronald Mc Donald House too though.

What are your plans for the weekend?

FLOORS ARE THE WORSE...okay...maybe I'd put the BATHTUB right up there with floors. I hate my kitchen floor! Plans for the weekend are work, work and then make cards on Sunday!

Bathtubs suck too! We have two of them. I do not like cleaning them. PITA.

Worked on my cards for a bit. I think I will be turning on the air conditioning. It's just getting too warm in here, and with the humidity, my Stickles just do not want to dry. UGH!!!

Talking

Hi Girls,

Have spent the morning with some friends doing some folk art. Sheridon came too. I won't say she actually enjoyed it, but she didn't complain. I don't really think she wanted to stay home alone. She did the green 'hope' and is going to hang it in her room. She wants to paint her room green and purple. I don't really care, as long as it is easy to cover if we ever sell - her Father may be harder to convince. My 'love' will go in the cupboard for my hand made Christmas. The other is the wall hanging that I made on the weekend at the craft fair that I went too. It is a bit dark as I forgot to take a photo outside before I put it on the wall. I have used that velcro stuff and am too lazy to pull it off now.
I have done the fortnightly grocery shop and have packed most of it away. There are a few things still on the bench, but I needed a bit of time out. Grocery shopping is such a logistical nightmare. You try to keep the light stuff separate while you are filling the trolley, then it gets separated at the checkout and the heavy stuff goes on the bottom of the trolley and the light stuff on top. When you get to the car you have to pack the light stuff in strange places until you get the heavy stuff in so that everything doesn't get sqashed. (Can you see where my head is at today?)
Anyway, must tidy up the rest before Bug gets home from school. He is on 3 weeks holiday starting next Thursday and is having a pizza party at his youth for end of term break up tonight. We are having my marinara pasta!
talk soon.....

I want to come over for dinner! Love the art work you girls did! I think it will really help Sheridon to have some good woman things to do with you! Yah, I get it about grocery shopping. Not my favorite chore either, but a necessity.

Just beautiful Keriann! BTW, I think the colors purple and green will be great in her room....sounds like she's making it her own! UGH UGH UGH on paying bills! I'd clean my kitchen floor and clean the tub every four hours if I never had to pay another bill!
Holly..it was hot here today but not humid..therefore I can stand it a bit more. Plus, without the humid air, my hair has not risen into frizzy tangles of curls that reach five feet high (ok,...maybe it's not THAT bad... I'm watching "The Princess Bride" for about the million and a half time in my life right now. I love that movie...it just never gets old for me.
Katie is outside with about 5 friends with the firepit..oohhhhh I LOVE the smell of the wood burning in the summer.
Ok..tomorrow is a big day at work...I have to be there at 730...and then I can stamp on Sunday, so I should go to bed. Of course...I have to wait till the ending of the movie....like I don't know the outcome.....

You all must have a busy weekend going on! Sure is quiet around here!

The weather this weekend has been better than the past few weekends for sure! It's a very welcome change! I love having the windows open and getting that fresh air in the house (especially since Tom is a smoker).

I got one set of red, white and blue cards done, and I was totally inspired to do my next set yesterday when I got a belated birthday gift from my BFF. She gave me a lighthouse that is solar activated. It collects energy during the day and at night the light is a lil LED that changes between red, green and blue. I LOVE LIGHTHOUSES!!! Anyways...that inspired me to make the cards I need to get going on. The deadline is coming up. Thankfully my friend Barb who is hosting it here on SCS only lives about 5 miles away! Whew! Maybe we can meet for coffee tomorrow night!

Got news today from a friend that her 7 year old black lab is really sick. Breaks my heart when our pets get ill. She feels they will have to put her down in the near future, and so here I sat at the computer crying. Feel so bad. Like Cheyenne is to me, Maya is like Linda's child...a part of the family. Heartbreaking for sure.

Good morning all! I'm making breakfast for the whole family and then I'm turning on the ac...and making cards....or going to the movies to see Toy Story 3...not sure what yet.
Laurie...I'm with you. I'm so sorry about your friends dog. I feel the same way. I sometimes feel silly because I still miss my Kodak...she passed away almost three years ago. But she understood me better than anyone else. I once read someplace a saying about how your loved pet is waiting for you up in heaven...I wish I could remember it exactly. It gave me a lot of comfort at the time. I have my two baby kitties now and I love them, but still miss my kodak. I know my kids do too.
Okay, I should go check and make sure I haven't burned the homefries. I wish you were all here. I'd make up a heap of homefries, some eggs, really GOOD bacon and we could sit around my big kitchen table and talk to each other WITHOUT the drama we get sometimes from kids, husbands, sisters, family, work..boy.....that sounds wonderful!!!!

I'm sorry!!! I love that poem. My friend Betty sent it to me when I had to put my Midnight (kitty) down. Well, actually, I couldn't handle it, so Tom took him. It was so hard.

On a good note, my swaps are coming along just fine! YEAH!!!

Good for you on the swaps Laurie. I'm heading to the movies to see Toy Story 3. Nope, not with any little kids. Just me and my family. The youngest is 18! But I love Toy Story!!!!!!!!

The movie was very good and funny. I did have the sniffles during the part when the Mom is saying goodbye to her son going off to college.....but mostly I laughed! I love how they Pixar makes their movies for the kids and the adults!

Love the poem Laurie. I cried as we had our 18 year old cat put down a couple of months ago. I still call the other one by the wrong name. I want to see Toy Story this week, but no-one wants to come with me. Might go by myself and be a Nigel No Friends......

WE had nasty storms that lasted for Hours here last night. It was unreal. Glad we are all safe and ok. They estimate 20000 still don't have power. What a night!

Kerriann..i go to the movies by myself a lot...and love it! I usually go to the early show, like 11am. Sometimes I am the only one in the theater. I love the choice of seats! LOL!
Laurie, you DID have big storms! We heard about them all the way over here in Massachusetts. It was on the news. Glad you are all same and that you have power.

Oh it was like nothing I have ever seen. The lightening was non stop for over an hour, and it was just so bright and amazing. Eagle, the town the tornado went thru, isn't that far south of us. I think 50 homes were destroyed!

WE heard about the storms on the news amd my DH actually asked about my friends as he knows that some of you live in that area. They looked awful. I really feel for the people that lost their homes. The good news here is that DH has actually realised that you aren't all imaginary!!

Real fast..
I am so sorry to be neglecting you ladies!

When it rains or is hig humidity I have no internet. then with 1. living on a farm
2. wedding plans
3. car issues

I have not had time

Kerriann it wasn't so hard to write them.. the judge sent us about 100 ideas and I cut up all the pieces of paper went online to get more info and took a piece of card board and taped them in the order I liked.

Clint sat here and nodded most of the time, he really got excited over the memorial bouquet and giving our mothers each a rose.

I work tomorrow and get home Friday night.. oh BTW I just realized something today Ihave not made a card in 4 EVER

He also picked the Unity Sand Ceremony... surprised me there!

I am not walking down the aisle.. my father is gone. so that's a bit different then the norm I s'pose!

Well I must run

Hoping to have time to catch up next time I am home, I did so much this round! lOL

Oh we even made a practice batch of Pineapple Upside Cup Cakes. taste good, look awfulul!

Off to watch Man From Snowy River with Clint and go to sleep!

Love ya all!

Here's a peek at what I've done so far!

When I got remarried I had the boys walk me 'down the aisle'. We were married in a park with a minister. It was lovely as they were happy to 'give' me to Browny.

Pretty cards, and cute Annabelle! Looks like you were doing the Black Magic technique? One of my new very favorite techniques. Nice job.

Kerriann, I have a stupid question. Does Australian currency differ from the US Dollar??

I have a three day weekend! Today is cleaning and grocery shopping (uck), and then my SU Demo is having a Mystery Hostess party tonight! I cannot wait!

Good morning all! Vicki...I simply LOVE your invites and the sand ceremony. I have never heard that before...it's beautiful. The big day for you is almost here! Sounds like you're running around like a chicken with it's head cut off! I think the invites are sooo beautiful. The daisy is perfect.
Kerriann, Love your cards...I loved the colors. I also LOVE your cheeky niece--those cheeks are soooo sweet!
Laurie, those pictures made me stop my whining and complaining DEAD in my tracks. I couldn't believe how one home would be destroyed and the next didn't even look like it was touched. I was especially touched by the picture of the man who said he was really upset about the tree falling down in his yard...until he walked over a street and saw homes destroyed. Yup, isn't that how we (or at least me) get all worked up about something..till we realize how bad it could really be.
I have had a busy week..i can't believe it's already Friday. Katie is off to college orientation and should be home this afternoon. She texted me real quick last night at 1am to let me know she's having fun. I can't wait to see her. Tomorrow is her graduation party. The pool is a lovely green! There is a problem with the filter and they can not get out to fix it till next week. I was major stressing over that --having a huge party with a god awful pool that no one can swim in...that is till I saw the pictures Laurie sent. Those pictures kind of remind you what is really devistating news and what is just an inconvience. What can you do? It is what it is. The important thing is Katie has graduated and is going on to college. I'm just going to keep saying that in my head all day tomorrow..LOL. Sean (my son) has major car issues and has decided it's time to bit the dust and buy a new car. He's doing that this morning with Jim. I am going to pick up all the food and get the house clean for tomorrow. I really can't wait to see Katie and see how she liked the college...did she find a roommate...how she did on her placement tests....etc. I hope you are all safe and well.

Karen, I understand about the car issue all too well. I was in an accident in February (not too serious), but because the car was 11 years old, the insurance company totaled it and would hardly insure it. I had wanted a new car anyways, but was hoping to wait until at least fall if not next Spring (one more tax season to save for the downpayment). Well, the good Lord had other plans. I am now the very happy owner of a 2010 Honda CRV. LOVE IT!

There is still tons of clean up work going on in Eagle. I still feel terrible. The village fair is going on this weekend even tho the tornado went thru. They are a good bunch of people down there! Thank God for the Red Cross and all of the volunteers that came out to help. It was amazing to see the fire departments from surrounding communities come out to relieve the ones that were already there. People just started cleaning up the yards of the emergency responders. It has all been very amazing to me to see that there are still caring people out there...despite the looting that has also been going on.

So, I can just kick myself in the rear. I knew better. I knew the retiring colors were going to go fast, but do you think I ordered the reinkers I need/want? Of course not. Now they are all gone but four colors, and I didn't get any of the ones I really need/want. UGH!!!! How dumb can I be sometimes????

Laurie, I have some re-inkers I never use. If you want them..they are yours!
Sean is buying a brand new Toyota. His car has over 200,000 miles on it. What a change for him. He calls his old car "the gold stallion". I told him it was time to put the poor stallion out to pasture--considering every time he starts it a big plume of smoke comes out the poor stallions butt!
Here's the re-inkers I have, let me know if it's something you want and I'll ship it off next week:
soft sky
purely pomgranate
blue bayou - apparently I have two of those!
pretty in pink
groovy guava
pumkin pie
