Rachel..LOVE THAT PRETTY CARD! You are so talented! LOL on the cat. My favorite cat did the same thing with the wax only she got it on her tail only. She walked around "dragging" her tail for three weeks before she got it all off the tail. Since then, no candles here . When she passed away we got two little kitties (now they are two yrs old). They are a handful and get into things that none of my other cats did. But they make us all laugh!
Vicki..I make one MEAN pan of homefries! I just ate the leftovers from Katie's prom breakfast. I wish I could send you some (....ok...now my brain is thinking...how can I mail home fries???). Excellent that you got your deposit back..that is unheard of these days! How's the yard work going with your helper?
Now, don't read the following if you want to hold on to your money......
I went to ACMoore today. The weekly ad said they had done over their paper crafting section. I HAD A TON OF FUN! WITH COUPONS! I got some Spellbinders on sale! I was thrilled. Then...hold on to your hats...at the end of the new paper craft section-that was loaded with stamps, ink, paper, glues, stuff I have NEVER seen or heard of--was a CLEARANCE SECTION! Yup, you got it--stamps, punches, paper, oh my! I was pretty impressed. I have always only been able to order spellbinders online and pay the shipping. So if you have a ACMoore around you---don't go--you'll spend a ton of money!
I LOVE home fries, we had them for dinner saturday!

As always I have been away for a while. Laurie, it was fine to send my address. And, yes, Australia is the exact opposite in seasons to you guys. We are just about to go into Winter. We live in Queensalnd which is the California of Australia I suppose. Where we live, it takes about an hour to travel to the centre of Brisbane, which is our capital city, and an hour to go to the Gold Coast. So we are pretty central to everything, but we also have small farms within about 5minutes drive as well, so we have the best of both worlds. We would like to move to about 40 acres, but we need to wait for Bug to finish school. We could find another school for him, but we all like the school he is at, and he has great friends there too. I grew up on a large farm and can't wait to have some cows and horses and chickens. We would only have to move about 30 minutes from where we are now to do this.
My sister and I bought a Big Shot together. It has been at her house since we bought it because I have been busy with university and our business, and didn't want it here. I have holidays coming up in a month, so will get it then and do lots of playing. We have accumulated quite a few dies and even some nestables, as my Big Sister from the current round had a shop closing down and apparently got them at a really good price and sent them to me as gifts. I am sure that she spent much more than the $15 though.
How was the prom? Please post a picture up of the girls in their dresses? I only have boys, and Mr 18 left school after year 10 as he had an apprenticeship, so he never got to go to a formal.
Anyway, I need to make 2 birthday cards today, so I better get to it, and then do some study as I have exams soon.
Good Luck on the exams Kerriann!

ok, whew!
i think i caught up LOL

anyways, had a nice weekend at home . the Base held its annual airshow this weekend, and while i fully support it and would go if i could handle crowds, the traffic here becomes insane! we have two main intersections in town and boy let me tell ya, you get stuck for almost hours waiting! so, we just stay home! well, DH had to work but i had the house to myself for awhile hee hee.........

so, i had planned on cutting the fab for my next pocketbook, but i came across some fabs that i had bought to sew up some totes for a charity. so thats what i worked on instead
i paid all of $4 for the fabs and got enough pieces cut to make 5 lined totes each with 2 inner pockets, and some fab left over. not a bad deal! its sort of double duty too because the Thrift shop i bought the fab from supports the military community, and the chairty will sell the bags for $$ for orphans education. and it gave me a little "me" time too..............
i have three left to stitch up.
i will post pics soon.

I agree...Holly...you are WAY talented girlfriend! Those babies will sell like hotcakes! I love charity events. I am all about giving and helping others. Even tho lately it has really turned around and bit me in the tush.

It is 81 degrees at 8:35 in Southeast Wisconsin. This is not May weather. I would like a refund please!

I put the security deposit money away for now. One never knows when an emergency will come up. So.....

I hear SU is out of Sage Shadow cardstock. I also hear that they are substituting textured cardstock for regular on colors they are out of...'til the textured runs out. I placed my order the other day, and as far as we can tell all my colors are still in stock (textured or regular). Whew!

Holly - Awesome job on the bags!! My sister used to live near you, so I can rememebr being down that way! She used to call it Have-not, but the one thing they did have before anywhere else was the new fries at Burger King when they came out over 15 years ago!! LOL

Laurie - I feel ya... my thermometer currently reads 111, but it's in full sun, so I know that it's wrong. It's about 80 in the house, and I tell ya I'm LOVING being able to thaw out!! Granted, we had 3 inches of snow just a couple weeks ago, so things can still turn ugly, but I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts! (I'll be sick of it come July, but for now... )

Thanks everyone! the pics hide a few of the flaws LOL...........

Rachel, thats too funny! everyone stills calls it have-not! although, we do have a walmart now WOOHOO.......LOL....we say havelock is like mold, it grows on you BWA HA HA

we have been cloudy and windy the past several days, but we need the rain badly.
my friends neighborhood has a lot of ducks that roam the streets, and they have no water in the ditches to swim in now. so some of the families have put out little wading pools for them! and one house has one of those water fountians you can put in, a small one, and they climb up in there too. its funny.

It got really cloudy here, but so far the rain is staying to the west.

not much is going on. I joined my friend Barb's red, white and blue swap. I think I will get started on one set of six that I am making for it.

I haven't started on my swaps yet...although I do have a picture in my head of one of the two sets I am going to make. I decided that since the sky is getting darker and darker, I had better take Miss Cheyenne for her walk. She gets VERY unhappy if she doesn't go for her walk every night. Honestly, it's good for me too!

We had some wasps building a nest by the garage. Tom knocked it down twice. Over the weekend he went to smoke some goose for a buddy. He has an old refrigerator that he converted into a smoker. Anyways...he didn't notice it right away, but a few hours into the smoking process, he started getting buzzed. Sure enough! There was the hive started again...inside the smoker! UCK!!! Every year we have them around here. Usually in fall we see the hives hanging from trees around the neighborhood. UCK! Paper wasps I think they are called. Regardless, I am NOT a fan!

They hadn't gotten very far Holly. We've knocked it down a few times. Tom said it's about the size of a half dollar coin. I'm not curious enough to go look. I just told him it needs to go. They are mean lil buggers!!!

Ooh ooh coffee and snacks! Wahoo!!

I'm doing what I do best tonight: procrastinating! Trying to put together an idea for the second CAS DT challenge... all they said was "think Summer." I have a couple of ideas, but because they gave us free reign, I'm having a hard time making up my mind! LOL

So far I've managed to unmount an entire set of stamps and organize my desk... time to actually put ink to stamps!

So general consensus, gals.... rubber stamps, mounted or unmount them?

It's a flipping 92 degrees here! I'm not happy! <~~~LOL, Like that'll do anything. Rachel, I am in the middle of unmounting my stamps from the wood. So I'm a unmount fan! I am loving how easier it is to organize them. Plus I like seeing where the stamp is going on the paper!
I'm hungry but it's just too hot to eat....ok...I gotta go ...I realize all I'm doing is whine, whine whine. LOL! I'll come back once the sun sets

Aren't we funny whinging about the weather. We had a cold start to the day - 18 in my kitchen at 7.30am (64ish to you guys?) and Karen is complaining about 33 degrees (here). Personally I wish it was summer all year round. We have a brick home with insulation in the ceiling which keeps it really cool in summer and really warm in winter, but in winter it likes to take it's time warming up in the morning. I have the same problem, I suppose!
I am trying to do my grocery shooping once a fortnight instead of once a week (so far, so good - as long as I plan my meals each week), but I had to catch up on bread and milk for the next week. I just bought 6 loaves of bread and 4 x 3 litres of milk which I am hoping will last me until next Thursday or Friday. I seem to be going through the most amazing amount of both lately. My DH is away most of the week, so it just Mr 14 1/2, Mr 18 and me, and it sure isn't me consuming most of it. I realise they are growing boys, but this seems ridiculous. I am not complaing, but does anyone else' family eat this many staples?
Hope you all had fun having coffee, diet coke and reading magazines

Here's a chuckle for your day that I forgot to mention before.
A few years ago Mr 14 1/2 went on a school trip to Canberra (our equivalent of Washington) and on the way home they spent a few days in the snow. They went in September and, as it is quite cold down there I bought him a set of thermal underwear for the trip. They are blue. Mr 14 1/2 is really thin and quite tall, and is all arms and legs at the moment. This morning he came out in his themal underwear which still fits him, but is way too short in the arms and legs. It was the funniest thing - the exact opposite of the hillbilly that you see in his red underwear! I really need to take a photo for when he gets older

OMG Kerriann, that is SO funny! I am picturing it in my head, and I am just giggling!

The humidity is slowly going away. We shut off the air conditioning and opened the windows. Thank God...we need some fresh air. I hate having the house all closed up.

Not much is going on. OH! I cleaned the oven over the weekend, and forgot to wipe off the Easy Off cleaner from the top of the oven. Oh MY does that stuff SMOKE UP...um...another reason it's nice to have the windows open!

Mr 14 1/2 is really thin and quite tall, and is all arms and legs at the moment. This morning he came out in his themal underwear which still fits him, but is way too short in the arms and legs. It was the funniest thing - the exact opposite of the hillbilly that you see in his red underwear! I really need to take a photo for when he gets older
that is absolutely hilarious!!! yes, definately get pictures hee hee..........

oh, and we finally had some nice steady "soak in rain" the past 2 days, i thought i actually heard the earth here say "Ahhh.............""

we have been a bit muggy with it, but not as hot as we can be this time of yr, which is good for the electric bill! AC is finally set at a comfy level......for now at least

Oh Laurie I'm sorry to hear about your aunt. That's so sad, but I bet she had some awesome stories to tell! We just lost my Father in Law 6 months ago, and he had some amazing stories even though he was only 83!

Holly - Awesome news about your son! That's pretty exciting for him, but I gotta ask, does he know what the View is? LOL

Kerriann - that's a guaranteed way to make sure he doesn't invite anyone over for a loooong time!! Too funny!

It's supposed to be beautiful here today and tomorrow, and then get rainy on Sunday and overcast on Monday. Figures, it'll be nice when I want to be inside, and icky when I want to be outside! Our town is doing a community garden and we rented two plots this year. We will be tilling, rock-picking, and planting this weekend after VSN is over. Note to self, FIVE zucchini plants is a baaaaad idea!

She did have a lot of amazing stories, and she LOVED to tell them. She was incredible. Last time I visited with her was at a family party. Let me tell you...she was sitting on the floor with her legs crossed...she just hopped right up and was walking around. I can't get up that fast! She was my Dad's second favorite aunt. She was very dearly loved and will be missed.

Holly love the bags! Awesome!!

Love it that the neighbors do that for the ducks.

I do not wanna know the temp... NEVER! LOL My dd calls me from MO in the winter. She will google our temps and either call or text just to tell me how nice it is there!
