Hello--all of the TV's are now hooked up, after two trips this afternoon to the house. He talked to the guys at the store where we got the components and they hold him what he needed to do, but they also said since our speakers were four years old and not the newest options, the salesperson should have sold us new speakers. Chris told them they what they want the customer to do and what the customer wants or can afford, are different! So, he came back, hooked it up and the TV worked with the speakers--YEAH! So, I paid him and he left. Then, I tried the DVD player (after he left) and no sound. So, I called him back and we tried again. Finally he called the store from here and got it figured out. Again, they said that they way it is configured is not the best, as the sound will echo--I hear no echo right now............................................. So, in the future, when we get additional speakers for surround sound, then we can upgrade then. Until then, it sounds great to me and the picture is awesome! Great guy, lots cheaper than the store and he is a handy man type that does electrical, decks, drywall, etc. So, I am sure we will use him again.

I typed a big reply and it seems to be gone

Anyways, Vikki, prayers for Liz's family. I know there is a reason for everything, but when something like this happens, you really wonder what it is. She must be something special if God wants her back so quickly.

Barb, I feel your pain. I normally have to do all of those sort of things and it is really annoying when it won't work.

Holly, I was saying something to you, but I don't have any idea what is was now.

Today is sunny again, but I think it is supposed to rain. Hopefully it won't as there are supposed to be fireworks and stuff going on everywhere. We are supposed to be going to friends for a party, but I am feeling a bit anti social and might just let Browny go in his own. I never make it to midnight anyway.

Found some flood photos. ABC The Drum - Audience submitted photos

My home town is Dalby and we work out of Chinchilla. Browny comes from Emerald. His sister had 1 foot of water through her house yesterday lunch time. They've known all week that it would flood and they didn't sandbag or anything. Just drove her sports car to the railway station and caught the train over the bridge to her in laws place, where it is higher. Left the car at the station, so it will be under water too. Bizarre!! Is it any wonder they don't get along?

Hello--I hope you each had a great Thursday and are looking forward to the weekend (and maybe a day off tomorrow for a long weekend ) We are heading out of town around noon tomorrow--picking up three friends--heading to Merrill, WI--4 hours away. I am not taking my laptop along, so I will stop in tomorrow morning to chat on SCS, but then will not be back until Sunday. Should be back in time to see the Packer game--and watch them pound the Bears!

Wishing everyone an early Happy and Healthy New Year--be safe and have fun on New Years Eve!!!

the flood pictures are heartbreaking Kerriann, but the kangaroos are adorable, and those night time lightening pics are beautiful!

If you go to "News Home" and then go down the page a bit and in the middle there is a bit that says "just in". Click on QLD and some more headlines come up. There are some more pictures with them.

Today's funny.

Dh is fiarly large - Over 6 foot and about 130kgs. He has no bum and his jeans are always falling down. Before Christmas he would joke about getting suspenders, so Bug and I gound some in the states and got them sent over. He has been wearing them with his work clothes the last few days and thinks they're wonderful. They look so funny though because he has the front of them on wither side of his belly. He wants me to get him another pair. I will, but I can't tell him how funny he looks. He just can't get over the fact that he never has to pull his pants up when he wears them

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE!!!

We are staying home tonight and grilling out. Surf and turf. There were some awesome sales this week, so we splurged a bit.

Just got home from getting my hair cut. It really needed it. Feels so much better!

It's crazy warm out. Almost all of our snow is gone. The issue with that...all this water is gonna freeze tonight and become a sheet of ice. Just have to be careful!

I am hoping to get inky this afternoon and get some cards made.

Barb, have you started thinking about the shoebox swap yet?

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE!!!

and HAPPY NEW YEAR to Kerriann!!

nice quiet day here today, sunny and warm. spent some time gallery gazing at all the wonderful things there, lots of pretty things to wanna try out later!

we are staying home tonight and watching TV, nothing exciting LOL.

weekend is supose to stay nice and first half of the week but they are watching a storm front coming across from the west and saying we may have snow again next thursday or friday.

nothing big planned for the week, just the usual payday errands. and maybe an SU party if weather allows(sched for thurs). will be nice if it is a go, as i havent seen these ladies in awhile. the hostess lives across the river and as you know highrise bridges are the first to be bad during that kinda weather, so we will just have to wait and see

i have also been drooling over the occasions catty trying to make my list up. glad saleabration doesnt start til the 25th. gives me 2 paydays even though i am tryin to be good...............

The drive home was alright.. just rained.
My road was another story, it is 3 miles of gravel road, 15' wide (you hope to meet NOBODY) I have 2 neighbors out here that drive BIG trucks!
It was like driving in pudding! NASTY

then this morning it was so icy! I had to go make the mortgage payment since they will be closed tomorrow.. WOW! The highway was perfect!
Got back from town, rounded the scary corner and topped the last hill on our.. and off the road I went! POOF right in the ditch!

Thankful now for neighbor with big truck! hee hee

Home now, updated here, off to say some more hello's and a bit of gallery gazing, then I am working on some cards!

I agree with Vikki, just put that roast in and let it do it's thing. Gotta love the preseasoned ones!

Holly, thanks for the get well card. That was a rough few days. It's the gastro-intestinal bug that's going around. It's pretty nasty, and of course I got it. Tom is just fine.

I need to get creative. I know what colors I want to use, so now I just need to pick out the stamp set!

It's 46 and raining here right now. It's cloudy and yucky out actually. I'm glad I got the yard picked up and Chey taken for her walk late this morning, before the rain started up again.

Glad you are outta the ditch girl!

Oh, so I went and got my haircut today. I said please just take off the ends that are bad and clean up the layers. Well, it must have been pretty bad (I DON'T THINK SO) cuz she cut me really short. I won't need a trim again til after tax season. UGH!

I wanted to use one of my punches for the Valentine's Day cards for stamp club, and I cannot find it anywhere. It's starting to really irritate me. I thought I saw it recently, but maybe not. Hmmm....

Anyways. not much else is going on here. I'm glad we aren't going out tonight. I'm just not in the mood, and I am getting quite a headache. I'm thinking it's weather related. My boss never knew the weather could do that...give people headaches. I said well sure...the pressure changes in the atmosphere. It just affects some different than others. Sorry if that should be effects....I never remember....

We are waiting to hear if our friend's DH is going to need hip surgery for sure. I don't recall if I told you about this. My friend's hubby fell off the roof a few years back while putting up the Christmas lights. He broke both ankles I believe it was. Well, he apparently didn't heal exactly perfect and has been walking a little off to compensate for it. It actually caused his hip to die. There is no blood flow to his hip. So, he may need to have a replacement! He is like 39 years old I think. So, we are waiting to here so we can plan some meals to take over for the family. Well, the meals are planned, we just need to make the schedule! They are going thru some really rough times right now besides, and cannot afford for him to miss work, but yet he can't not have the surgery if it's needed. You know? He's on crutches for now. I can't imagine what that must be like. Uck!

Holy crap! really? From breaking his ankles!!?? WOW! I had no idea! How awful!!

Holly no worries, we go in the ditch out here a lot! The only spot that is scray has a very DEEP creek on both sides!
This road is so poorly maintained, the school bus driver is on the board and the only time it is plowed or graded and sanded is on school days. we are very used to it.
Most of us know to just stop when you meet someone so one or the other can squeeze by. and that hill is horrible, it is so icy! Jay usually takes ashes out and takes care of it.. the town wont

BTW Laurie, heads up! It is sleeting here now! Headed your way I believe!

Oh, dumb question but what is SURF and TURF

Ok, my swap cards are almost done. I just need to assemble and figure out a couple of embelishments.

Holly, thanks for the get well card. That was a rough few days. It's the gastro-intestinal bug that's going around. It's pretty nasty, and of course I got it. Tom is just fine.

I need to get creative. I know what colors I want to use, so now I just need to pick out the stamp set!

Hi Holly! Actually they held up quite well, and I appreciate you sending them! We are completely out! I am hoping dinner tonight isn't too much. Wednesday night was my first real food, and that was just a turkey, lettuce and mayo sub from Cousins. Yesterday I ate a mild supper. Tonight will be a good test...if it doesn't work out so well, back to bland food for a few days.

Happy 2011 girls.

We had a quiet night last night. Went to some freinds for a while, then came home, had a drink with the neighbours and I was in bed by 11pm. DH stayed next door for a while - no idea when he came to bed.
Cloudy today with rain expected to start this afternoon. Got inky most of yesterday. Now I need to tidy it up and do some paperwork as I haven't done any since before Christmas.

Back later.....

I think Laurie needs Bingo numbers with all of her stamps on them, then just bounce out a ball and that's how she picks what set to use!
