Well, my cro-hook purchase plans were foiled today... maybe tomorrow. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

I picked up yarn for DD poncho, but bought two skeins of each color, instead of one each. OH well. I'm sure I can find a use for the extra ones.
DD chose three blues and a cream, and I plan to have it done by the end of Christmas break. http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/ch...tml?noImages=0

Any unused yarn can be returned, I've done it for years.

OK ladies.... we're in the midst of planning for my family's Xmas grab bag. I was thinking of adding a magazine subscription to my list. Any recommendations on which one I should ask for?

So pretty! I love this! Is there a free pattern somewhere or did you get it in a particular book?

No kidding - My DS has been sick on and off for a week. He barely ate on Thanksgiving and Friday and Saturday were no fun at all. Poor guy. Today he's finally himself. I would expect I could find a cro-hook at Michael's or Acmoore. But where I live it's amazing what you CAN'T find.

Interweave Crochet is a beautiful magazine. Lots of more involved projects, but beautiful. Ck it out on line.

I think I got mine at Jo-anns. I'm not sure how many sizes they carry. I have a K(metal) & a P(plastic). The wood one was made by my father out of a dowel.

Good morning!

I haven't done any shopping this entire holiday weekend except to buy some toys for our jeep club's Toys 4 Tots parade. And we made sure to go somewhat late on a Sat night to avoid the crazy crowds. Now I'm itching to go shop... any crochet/fiber cyber deals out there that anybody knows about?

Hi, I'm feeling much better and back to crocheting. I finished the baby's christmas hat with the pointsetta...so cute! My computer is in the shop and I only have a 10+ old laptop so I can't post a pic.

I love these little icicles, I can see a whole tree in them. Something my daughter can't break and the cat won't eat!

THANK YOU so much for sharing the crocheted icicles! We have a new kitten in the house (DS's) and I've been kinda dreading what's in store for the Christmas decorations. These will definitely keep kitty safe "when" he climbs and attacks from within the tree. lol.

Hi! I've been crocheting off and on since I was 10 or so. My grandmother taught me. I've made several baby blankets and 3 or 4 full size afghans. Right now I'm working on a granny square afghan for my living room. They are 10 inch squares I have 15 done and 20 to go. On Thanksgiving I taught 2 of my nieces (8 and 10) how to crochet. The 8 year old really picked up on it fast and is addicted. She's gone through 1 skein of yarn in her project already!! I love this thread! Everyone is so talented and is creating beautiful projects!

Isn't it fun to see a young one learn so fast. I am constantly amazed at how fast they can pick it up.

i think its esp wonderful to see a young one want to learn something such as knit crochet and sewing, what with all the tech/electrical stuff our youth has these days!

its nice to know that for some of us, the love will carry on!

I have to add here that my DS is all boy. Totally obsessed with robots and how to dismantle things, etc. He watches me knit/crochet and mentioned one day that he may want me to teach him. I thought he was just being nice, but he asked about 3 times that week. So I taught him to make a chain and single crochet. He actually has made a few long chains as cat toys. I was thrilled it wasn't a video game he was asking for...
