In 2013 I made a couple of baby blankets, cowls, and a scarf. Usually there is much more and it is one of my challenges for 2014 to crochet more, internet less.

I am not sure I have finished even one crochet project this year!
I have a sweater that is about half done sitting on the sofa next to me that I started a couple of months ago and keep staring at it now, thinking I need to finish it but just can't get motivated to do it. I bought the yarn to make my grandson the fox hat on Pinterest too but haven't started it, and also printed some patterns for the boot cuffs but wasn't sure who wore boots though I did see that my daughter and DIL wore them while I visited so I may make them some for next year.

Hope each of you have a blessed new year. Personally, I know I am really looking forward to it and hoping its one filled with positives.

Kelly -- I think I tried to friend you on FB -- hope it was you anyhow! Are you on there?
Yes, Susan, I'm on FB (not because I want to be but for networking lol.) I get on to take care of business and move on. I have 3 accounts:

Scrappinceo(craft - which I intend to use more this year)

Depending on what someone is using for their board name... type their name in the SEARCH box. Then you'll need to select if you're looking for a PIN/ BOARD or a PINNER.

I was curious to find her in particular as I don't know names very well at all.

Where do you all purchase your yarn from? Do you have a favorite kind of yarn you like to work with more than others?

I love working with Alpaca, unfortunately the good stuff is out of my price range. For my Mitten Tree projects I use Red Heart. From there I pick and choose what feels good for the particular project.

I just buy mine mostly at local craft stores like HL or Michaels etc... mostly acylics because I like the ease of washing them really. I have used cottons for the washclothes etc but I don't like how everything shrinks up. I love the bamboo yarns... so soft, and used them for a few things, and have done a few in wool mixes for gifts but I don't wear much wool myself. My sister loves to work with wools and felt them. My daughter uses all sorts of expensive yarns, ie bamboos, alpaca, etc. but I just haven't brought myself to spend that much on yarn yet.

Probably best for recipients too anyhow since then they can wash and wear without worries as wouldn't alpaca shrink up more?

With all that land, Kelly, I'm surprised you haven't bought alpacas to graze and live on the farm!!!

Me, too, alpaca is my favorite! I purchase it only for baby blankets for very special people that I know treasure handmade items.

I'm on as SusanDFarrell now. Tried my name on here but it only allows 15 letters.

I have used it for ideas in the past but haven't organized my boards right so am going to try to do that.

not enough 'grazing' unless I want to give up my garden/ orchard. That is not happening LOL

I'd be happy with chickens but hubby just is not caving in on this one and he never tells me I can't do something, so I'm giving him this one lol

Oh I would love to have a couple acres and be self-sustaining as much as possible anyhow. I'd love some chickens, llamas/alpacas, maybe a sheep or two... a big garden. Just would need a lot of time which isn't going to happen before retirement unless I inherit something somehow through a relative I don't know or win the Publisher's Clearing House... or someday finish one of the books I started writing and it somehow makes an Oprah list... haha. Okay, I can dream anyhow, right?

That's pretty, Joan. A narrower version of the tear drop. Worked in the right yarn, that will be so soft and cuddly! Let us see when you've finished, please.

I got the fringe cut for Scarf #1 of the new year. I know for sure I'm not putting it on tonight. I'm not far from my pillow and a book. I promised the author I'd get the review up this week.

Their nursery colors: coral, aqua, grey, and metallic gold

I sent my niece the link the the yarn and color chart and asked her to pick the colors she wanted. She picked Silver Grey, Peach, and Caribbean/Blue Hawaii.

I need the magic one from Rita Rudder in Harry Potter... that read her mind. If I had that, I'd have a shelf of books written by now.
I have several started, none completed. Friends keep asking me when I'll finish... sort of stalled in that last marriage really, quit writing... so now friends are asking even more when I'll finish. We'll see.

Cute pattern and colors, Joan. Love it. In fact, may print that one to try too.
I've got the sweater on my table next to the couch to try to get me to pick it up and finish. And there is the bag of yarns for the boot cuffs too. And there are classes on Tuesdays that I wanted to go to learn how to knit. But then the doc's office just sent a notice they have laughing yoga classes starting on Tuesdays and that is when the Y had the Aqua Zumba I was going to.
I moved from out East where there was never anything to do as far as classes to now there are so many I can't decide which to go to!!!! Feast or famine!

I got the fringe on the scarf this morning. Day 7 - end of Week 1 and the first set is finished. I'll print bag headers tomorrow so I can package each set as they're complete. No pushing to do that in Nov.

We have warm weather this week... almost feels like Spring. Scary to then wonder if we are getting another cold spell or if this is going to be such a short winter here!

I still have to finish my sweater. Do any of you have that problem that you stall on projects and then go off to others and don't get the original ones finished?

I still have to finish my sweater. Do any of you have that problem that you stall on projects and then go off to others and don't get the original ones finished?

Hey Susan... my daughter and her family arrived in Arlington WA Saturday morning. The only real bad weather they hit was in Utah. Your spring-like weather gave them a bit of a break as they went through ID into Oregon. Long 5 day drive with a 6 year old and a 2 year old that were good beyond amazing.

I'm almost finished with scarf number 4. Need to put the fringe on then buy 4 pr of white gloves. I'm trying to get ahead while the weather is cooler. yarn traveling through fingers in the summer is a slow task.

Good to hear, Kelly! They would have been more than welcome to stop and stay here in the guest rooms! Likewise when you are ready to come visit! Looks like she is just in land from the inlets there... gorgeous area. Just under 9 hr drive from me. Let me know if you plan a trip there and maybe I will drive up to meet you and see the area!

I just realized I have a few other unfinished projects as well and I'm going to get those out and commit to doing them before starting others.

As for the novels and writing... well... I'm there with you, Kelly. I'm not sure I could even access some on the two older computers I have at this point! Maybe I should just take it as the sign I shouldn't have written those and start new?

We have a foggy cold one here too so I'm hibernating. Teleworking and no plans for the holiday weekend really other than house stuff and crafting.
