I find a pattern I want to try, or come up with some idea in my head and then put the yarn together for it, like a little kit and have it waiting in line for me to get to.... Maybe I need to give away a kit on my bloggy... I'll have to ponder....

My problem is there are too many ideas, too many kits, too much yarn, too many needles, etc...
Seriously, I don't think I need to buy any more yarn for many, many years. Same with quilting fabric/kits. And stamping supplies. And scrapbooking supplies. haha
Soooooooooooooooooo much here already. I'm just trying to use those!

Most of the time, it is so hard to balance whether or not to buy the stuff for that cool new project 'cause you've got x,y & z at home already.
I'm convinced that this is the worst part about crafting.
I have decided that I need to win the lottery so I can stay home & craft all day. THEN I'd have time for all these projects.

Its a crafting syndrome of some sort I'm sure. There's probably a name for it even, craftapsychosis or something like that.

I have been good lately, keeping my new purchases to minimal... trying to be more creative about using what I have, and discovering what I have even... haha
But of course, somehow I still manage to find something to spend the money on... went to Ollie's yesterday and bought far too many books (another addiction...).

Hi, my name is Chris and I have Craftapsychosis...

There. It's the first step.

Seriously though, that's why I have so much trouble with paper crafting. I feel totally overwhelmed with ALL the options and stuff you can choose from. And then as soon as you buy anything, whether it's ink, paper, a cutting system, etc. there is something new! Ugh. I just need some ink and markers... I think. I need help with that though. I need to have a stamp camp to find the best way to ink some of what I've got.

Yarn can accumulate and it doesn't scare me because I know what to do with that!

I am pretty sure my yarn multiplies though when I turn my back. I keep expecting to hear a loud "Boom" someday when one of those containers of yarn in the living room tucked behind chairs/couches, etc. explodes from the multiplication and the skeins of yarn and masses of string start to flow out like lava from a volcano...

Sort of like all the craft stuff is doing in the craft room at present... hehe

I know its time to clean in there when I have to start stepping over things to get to other things, and constantly move things in order to do other things... which has been a lot of late...

Default Still working at it!

Hi,
I saw that you've been crocheting flowers. I love to make fabric pins with buttons, felt, etc... I saw some really cute and quick ideas on a site that had a tutorial video and all. Could you guide me to any of your favorite resources? I put my flowers on pins, clips and hairbands and I've sold them at craft fairs, to friends, and I love it. I need some new ideas though. I am not great at crocheting but I do enjoy it. I find it relaxing and I'm always drawn to the wonderful colors they have out there!

Keep on Crocheting!,

Well, PJ, I'm thinkin' about flower sources... I tend to make up as I go, but I have seen some neat patterns lately. I'll look around a bit.

Here is a great little tutorial for making crocheted flowers. Very simple, even for beginners. There is a pattern, and a video, and great pictures of finished projects:

Trying to decide what little projects I can tuck in my bag with me to take while I go see my grandson next week and visit my kids. Hopefully something I can do like amigurumi or such for him.

When I get back I know it will be time to start garden stuff so the crochet will be tucked away for a while again.

Have fun, Susan! Here's hoping Colorado weather cooperates. We're headed to TN the end of this month to bring Adrian back with us for 2 weeks. She'll be here through Easter. We're so ready to see her. So I know how you feel about now hehe

No planting here. I think we have decided not to have a big garden this year because we didn't have enough time for it last year. With DD being small it was really a challenge. We will just do some basics this year here at the house and a friend is doing a huge garden that we are helping with there to share, so.... We are focused on re landscaping this crazy house this year! You?

with the little one really moving about, I can understand the 'cutting back' on the garden plan, Christina. I'm so glad I don't have that issue because my garden plan keeps growing LOL I get it from my Dad.

Hope you're enjoying your beach time, Susan! Lucky you. Though I think I'd rather go to Colorado. It is 'home' after all.

I do love to garden and we will do some here, but we have some safety issues around our yard that we are working on. Our garden area is at the top of an incline and not too far from there is a 4 foot drop down to our driveway. We also have a rock waterfall/fish pond that needs to be removed/reworked. Toddlers are busy and those things need to be remedied before I can 'concentrate' on working the garden... I had her out there last year in the garden, but she couldn't get too far then. Now she runs full speed ahead! I wouldn't be able to plant 2 seeds before she would be catching frogs in the fish pond! I look forward to having her garden with me without worrying constantly. So I'll only plant as much as I can handle with her in mind.

Chris - so funny your story about gardening with the little one! My friend and her DH tilled their garden last weekend and DS1 was 'helping'...she said, now if she can just get him to pull weeds, too...hmm... lol!

And I totally do the same thing as you! I have a little (okay, maybe not so 'little' exactly) bag that holds my 'kits'...I find a pattern, yarn that would be perfect, and the right hook or needle and stick it all in there until I have time to work on them! Of course by the time I find time, I've got 20 more patterns I want to try! So my little bag has several UFOs in there...

Does anyone know of any good pattern books (or patterns) for baby items? Specifically I'm looking for cutesy girl 'stuff' - like headbands, hats, diaper covers, etc. I'd really love to find any pattern books for kindle download! I just purchased a couple of patterns on Amazon for the kindle, that I hope to try soon: Ruffle Love diaper cover and Fancy Flower diaper cover.

Hey ladies! Checking in from Florida... Watching the ocean from my room, waiting for everyone else to wake up/arrive.
Toni, I bet Christina has all the cute girl patterns and sites!
Kelly, I prefer Colorado too, but since my kids and grandson are here...
When I get back, we are working on the garden, hoping to add 4-6 more raised beds this year. Produce prices are ridiculous, and I prefer organic, not to mention the taste of fresh can't be beat. We are also doing more in containers and I want to try waist height gardening tables in deep bins too (6-8")... Easier on the back and knees...
I would like to try hydroponics too but will have to see what I have time for!
We are trying to do as much organically as possible, including the fruit trees, so I ordered footies (like the nylon ones you use at shoe stores) to try to hand wrap every apple this year and see how that method works...
Just imagine me doing that...
