Thank you for the offer. I am thinking that I will just try it on my own. It really doesn't look too difficult.

It does look like a straight forward pattern. You could determine your own texture by the stitch pattern you choose to use. I like the 'ribbing' effect on the cuff of the pocket and know I couldn't do that without a pattern.

My cabinet of books/ magazines are here and waiting. Just give a shout if your decide you want me to look.

Do you ever get involved in a project. Have trouble with the directions, but are so stubborn you continue and then just want to be done with it. Am having that with a baby blanket I am making. I just want to be finished. And I know this sounds bad, but I do not even care if it looks good at this point. (although it really does look good.) Anyone else ever feel that way?

When I get to that point, Dorothy, I usually just rip it out and try a different pattern. If I'm not happy with it, I'm not going to be happy giving it to someone. But that depends on how much time you have.

Yeah. I thought about that, but I was too far into to give it up. It does look good. I am just sick of it. But now I am on the border so, hopefully, within the week I WILL BE DONE. lol

A little fable for you...
My granddaughter, Adrian, loves to play on grandpa's computer. But you know kids.. it's all about pushing the buttons. hehehe.
When you first turn on the computer, there's a yellow power up bar. You have to wait for it to fill up before the windows 'flag' comes up.

So grandpa has taught Adrian the word and meaning of PATIENCE hehe You have to be Patient for the flag to come up. As soon as she she's the yellow bar, she says "Patience". and grins from ear to ear.

And...
if you're realllly realllly patient... when the flag goes away, a big fire-breathing dragon comes up!

It's all about patience.

You'll get there, Dorothy. And on to the next project before you know it hehe
Love to see a pic when you're done.

I did finish it Not exactly like the pattern said but a friend told me it looked good with the border I had done so I stopped. (Is that a run on sentence) And I have gone on to the next project and am very happy with it.

Thanks for the help.

Here's a little frivolous one for you guys. If any of the kids in your life are into Pokemon, they'll love this. My daughter requested these, and they are pretty quick to make. I made three yesterday, for both daughters and thieir friend, and got big-time "best mom in the whole world" points.

Good morning, all!!

It's getting to be 'that time of year' again, so I'm ready to pick up the needle/s and go at some Christmas gifts! lol! Does anyone have any tried-and-true dishcloth patterns they'd be willing to share - knit or crochet? I made some for my mom for Christmas last year that she really seemed to love, but I was so not loving the patterns I found!

Thanks!!

Hi Everyone! Just checking in. I picked up a couple of those thin pattern booklets at Michaels that I use for mine, Toni, or just pick a pattern and go from it.
Check out the free ones on Lion Brand's website or Annie's Attic too!

WELL! Yesterday I received news from my son that I'm going to be a grandma!
I have 4 step-grandchildren at present through DH's older kids from before our marriage... however, this will be the first that is from my own children that I gave birth to...
I'm over the initial shock... and dealing with the heartache of living so far from them... praying for him to get a job near me and move this way of course... but otherwise now beginning to think baby stuff...
So show me your favorite crochet patterns for babies!!!
They are supposed to go today to find out via Ultrasound if its a boy or girl...
But meanwhile I'm crocheting neutrally.

Susan, That's WONDERFUL news. Congratulations sweetie. I'll keep lots of blessings flowing their way.

I'll check my email later. I think I just had an email about baby stuff from Lion Brand. And if you tell me what you're looking for in particular, I'll be happy to go through my 'baby' books and photo copy stuff if you don't mind B & W - I'm out of colored ink in the copier.

Easy projects. I'm waiting to hear on themes but then will also let you all know. I think they may be going with Noah's Ark or Jungle but am waiting to hear.

You're so funny... I know I've been a little busy, lol... Baby Cate is so big and she is showing some personality now which is fun. New digs - we are NOT beautiful yet! We are still looking at boxes, but they are mostly the decorative type things and I have not had time. We're all good and I miss checking in with you all, too. How are YOU!?

I am pretty sure they are leaning towards Jungle but haven't said for sure. DS always had a collection of giraffes... when he was a baby, we tried to get him to attach to a toy or pacifier or blanket or something, and he just wouldn't... until one day we went to the zoo when he was about a year old I think, and we bought him this baby giraffe that had a rattle in it too... he called it "Baby." Since then, he has always had it and over the years, I've bought him lots of other giraffe stuff. So its a natural and he has lots of giraffes already for the room!

I told him he should also name him Noah. hehe

Settling into a new place does take time. Not to scare you, but in some ways I'm still not settled here and it's been 3.5 years. LOL It's HOME but there are still somethings I KNOW are here somewhere. hehe

Keeping busy. House is quiet without the grandbaby. But I get to bring her back here for the last week of Sept. My BD present from my daughter

Fall is a busy time for me with writing conferences, writing challenges, holiday stuff. It's MY time.

I've been here 2.5 years, and although I know I went through all these boxes at one time or other, some were packed back up and put away as "not needed at the moment but didn't want to get rid of" and now having to move all these things around again to paint and prep to put the house on the market, I find all sorts of stuff I forgot about, and can't find things I thought I kept!

We a number of those 'want to keep but don't need at the moment' boxes. I will get my exercise running downstairs to retrieve things, I'm sure.

We did some traveling over the weekend and all that drive time made for some good hooky time. I actually have a blanket almost finished! Yay! I just have to finish the trim and clean up all my ends.

Hope you are all happy and healthy this week!

Hi all. Sorry I haven't been on much. I've just started getting back into my crocheting. It has been way to hot. I've been working on my ripple. I'm probably 1/3 done.

Christina~ Glad you and Cate are doing well. We've been in our house for 4 years & we still have some of those boxes. LOL

Susan~ Congrats!! That's such exciting news. Now you have plenty of excuse to hook up a storm.

I have a Noah's Ark blanket pattern that is so cute. I will look on line and see if I can find a link to it. What kind of blanket are you wanting to do?

I need to be inspired to pick up the needle! I want to make some shawls for some dear people as gifts! Put my supplies away and need to pull them out.

Hi All --
They decided on a jungle theme, so I'm looking for animals. They are thinking of naming him Dominic, though I already told them I'm going to nickname him Noah and give him two of every stuffed animal...
