Hello ladies. Hope everyone is doing well.Sorry I haven't been here, but I've been all kinds of busy. We have to get the house ready for an appraiser to come so we can get a loan to pay off our landcontract to MIL. Also helping to rip down an old trailer & addition so she can put in a new trailer. Ugh. No crocheting or stamping going on either.
Goodness - you do have a lot going on! I hope it all goes well for you! Seems everyone is having such a busy spring. Keep us posted.

Thanks, ladies! It IS exciting to be crocheting for a girl again. I got out the blanket I crocheted for my daughter when she was a baby. It was so cute...flowers, rosebuds, etc. I planned to take it to her when we go to Dallas this weekend. She called last night and asked about it (spoiling the surprise). I had her first professional photo taken with her in her little rosebud "coming home" outfit and this blanket. She wants me to get out the outfit and bring her the blanket so that she can have her little girl's picture taken just like hers was. That will be SO cute! I also have a picture of her in a stocking at Christmas, with my husband holding her. She wants to duplicate that picture as well. Maybe I'll have some fun pictures to show you all this fall!

That's so sweet. I love it - the fact that your daughter wants to repeat what you did for her. And how great that you have those things tucked away. So much to look forward to.
Have a great day, all.

Hi ladies, I'm going to just jump in here - hope that's OK
I learned how to crochet just after Christmas. The only thing I have made so far are dishcloths (I already have a pretty good stash of cotton yarn to make the dishcloths), but I'm planning on tackling something bigger as soon as I can find a fairly easy pattern.
My mom and one of my sisters crochet, and my grandma did too for most of her life, up until just a few years before she passed way.
Hi and welcome! These ladies are full of great ideas. Enjoy!

I just kept thinking about this post - deep down I always felt like family should be close and always there for each other, but I know that's not the case. In my own family it's been a disappointment. Someone told me years ago that you create your 'family' of friends and people you meet along the way. At the time, I was too young to understand that, but now I get it. It is so good to have you ladies here on SCS.
Thank you - and yep I did remember my hook, lol. But then the cat came in and curled up in the blanket I'm trying to finish, so I didn't get far. But it was pure comfort just the same.
Hope you all are having a good day.

Hope you're feeling better today, Christina. It seems like everywhere I read on here today someone (or a family member) is dealing with fever/chills, ickys.
Kelly, You're right - it seems so many have had worse allergies/colds this spring. I can tell you tho that 8 months pregnant and a cold is not a good combination, lol.
Hi Christina -- Hope you are feeling better with the rain we've gotten. The sun is trying to come back out here and I am shoo-ing it away! I have a "hot-pot" going with boiling water to keep steam and humidity, it seems to be helping with mine. Maybe that will help with yours too? Take care of yourselves.
As for my crochet... well... I made one little birdie sachet but I don't care for the pattern much after all. First, it came out much bigger than I thought... about 6" around and I even used the bamboo yarn and a smaller hook. The beak and wing seem odd looking to me also. Guess I need another pattern.
The afghan I have been working on has been neglected for a while now... I think I need a few more days of rain, a few days off from work, and some good movies to get it done. Its a purple one for me, so not on a schedule.
I do need to crochet some more prayer shawls though. I gave away the last one I had 'stocked' and I always like to have 1-2 ready to go when the need arises.
I have to share that I bought the lighted crochet hook and love having it for when we have family movie night as I can still see just enough with it to crochet even with the lights off.
They also have them for knitting needles -- bought my daughter some of those for her to use when she is in Antarctica so she doesn't disturb her roommate or can go to the main tv/rec area where they watch movies and still knit too.
Thanks Susan, I'v never seen these before! As a little girl growing up, my Grandmother order ALOT of kits from Herrschner's, nice to know that they are still in business! tfs!
Hi. We haven't gotten your rain yet. A chance of some today. Went to ob yesterday and they were not too happy that I'm still coughing after a month. They've given me my orders for the weekend, so we'll see what happens. Good to hear you like the lighted hooks. I've thought about trying one. I finished a little baby blanket this week so am now feverishly searching for my next project.
Have a great day, all!

I think it's too advanced for me. I have no idea what a loop stitch is. I have a bunch of projects going on right now, but if I get crazy enough to cut up my jersey sheets and try it, I'll post pics.
I know - it looks great, but not sure I have the patience to cut up so much jersey to attempt it. I am trying to find a new project that inspires me today.

Thanks for posting the link. I've bookmarked it as she had a couple other things that caught my attention. I have some jersey knit yardage downstairs I wanted to make lounge dresses out of but I could probably forego one to try this bag. We'll see.
Christina... take it easy this weekend. We want you and the baby both very healthy come due day.

For cutting the strips, that new strip cutter would sure come in handy. I keep looking at it for pinking paper strips or my rug weaving strips. But then I look at the price ::: sigh :::
