I usually have at least one project going for each craft type I enjoy - so I think I have four or five. Right now I have one crochet UFO, and am trying to learn to knit.
I've been doing a lot of crochet & not much of my other crafts lately. Nedd to break out the stamps for a little papercrafting soon.
Good snowy day, everyone! (at least it is here! lol)
I've searched long and hard and canNOT find a good pattern for a dog sweater. Does anyone know of one? I knit better than crochet, but a pattern for either would work. I think my biggest problem is that my dog is pretty good size - a 70+ lb boxer/akita mix. Most of the sweater patterns I've found are for smaller dogs and I'm just not good enough with patterns to adjust for size.
I've never made a dog sweater so I can't help. Sorry.
I have 4 projects in the works. One is a granny square afghan that needs 11 squares to complete it but I'm tired of looking at it so it's on hold at the moment. One is a granny ripple afghan for charity (I joined a local crochet group and it is the project I'm working on for that). One is a cardigan sweater (I only work on that when I can concentrate) and one is an afghan made with Homespun yarn. I might get one of them finished at some point in time.
Sounds cool. Do you have a pattern or do you just make stripes?
I made my own stripes on the first one. It has really shrunk down. I can't remember the name of the yarn I used on this one, but I do know it was on sale for a great price. Regular price at Hobby Lobby was about six something a skein and was on sale for $1.88 a skein! First Zebra Scarf
I used a pattern on the second one (finished last night). The pattern my DD picked out of my Leisure Arts book "154 Crochet Wave Patterns", it's called Defined Waves. I used Caron Simply Soft yarn.

I've been helping a friend crochet. I helped her start on this dog sweater & she was able to finish it by herself: http://www.knitting-crochet.com/crochet/doggie2.html She really likes it, but said it has stretched out a little, so she had to move the button to tighten it up some.

LOL I know what you mean. Somedays I don't feel like I'm accomplishing anything.

That's really cute!
My current project is the round afghan posted a couple of pages back. I'm using whatever homespun I have left, and then will have to buy more to finish it.
I'm using this snowflake pattern from Attic24 to make a garland right now. I'm using #10 crochet thread so it might take a little while to get it to the right length. http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/cr...snowflake.html I have 16 done so far.

So I just started another afghan. Cro-hook this time. Now I'm up to 5 projects going at once. (sigh) I really needed to get this one going though since it's for mil b-day in the middle of Feb.
Am crocheting a baby sweater. Think I mentioned before I was going to I must say it is going well. Am into the body of the sweater. This works up fast. Guess I forgot how small a sweater is so it goes really fast. I do have to make sure I mark the row I am on. I did go down a needle size because I wasn't sure of the gauge. I think it looks really cute.
I am starting a baby kimono type sweater and probably going to start a hooded scarf. I am not crazy about wearing hats and it's been really cold lately!
It depends. Sometimes everyday. Mostly when I get involved with something on TV. Some days no. And it depends on what I am crocheting. If it is mindless then I do it more often. Kind of like meditating, but the sweater, I need to be aware so not everyday with that.
My dog, Libby, has adopted one of my afghans as her own personal blanket. I snapped this picture of her the other day. You can just see her nose and one foot sticking out. We come home to find her hopelessly tangled in the afghan sometimes.

I have 4 scarves completed. I had a pattern for one but couldn't figure out what they were saying about dctog. I showed it to a coworker and even she was confused. So, I just treble crocheted and actually finished it in one sitting watching tv last night. That's improvement. I'm gearing up for a hat- we'll see.

What are you all up to?
Isn't it funny how we always seem to have so many projects on the go?
I have a couple different baby blankets (one crochet bag in the family room for when I am there and another in the living room for when I am in there) on the go, plus some kitchen towels that I finally sewed up the tops on so I can crochet toppers for them(these are what I try to do on Ladies day- I can get about 8-10 of those done on a Wednesday. And then I have another bag of crochet cotton ready to go when we travel- I can't just sit still ever- I have to work on something- could be because I always have another project on the go. lol- But I lost some crafting time this year due to illness, so my goal for this year is to pick up my hooks more often-- and complete everything I have started- so that I will have my totes fully stocked for the craft sales in the fall. I have six scarves done now yeah- just need hats to match- but for those I need concentration- guess I will have to start them while my daughter is at school- alas- there is still stamping, scrapping, and painting to be done lol. Time flies when you are having fun.lol

double crochet together?

Yep that is what dctog means. Double crochet together, but I would have to look up in my dummies book to see what that means. lol
Finished the body of the sweater yesterday. Now must do the trim. Am liking this baby sweater. Really cute. Once am done the sleeves and see how everything looks will determine if I do it again. You know you want the sweater the fit an infant, not be way out of proportion for that size of child. lol
Yeah, the pattern described double crochet together as a dc that you don't complete before doing the next one. The confusing part came in how they had you dctog then ch etc. but you never went back to the original ch 121. It came from Joann.com. I'll see if I can find it.
I can't believe I just found this thread! I have been crocheting for just over a year now after FINALLY learning how by taking a class at www.icantbelieveim.com . I really love it a lot....dare I say even more than stamping. LOL I post both stamping and crochet on my blog although it tends to be more crochet lately. Looking forward to hanging out on this thread!
I love pretty much everything on Attic24's blog. She's fab.
I love her blog too! I keep her in my blog feeds so I know as soon as she updates. She has such a great sense of color and her posts always make me smile.
I have only 2 projects going right now. One is a ripple afghan done in single crochet which I have been working on for a long time. I just do a little here and there because I get bored with it. I am also working on a scarf for my neighbor's son to match his jacket. I am doing it in half double crochet, and alternating sections of red and gray.
Hi, ladies. JCI. Also, I added Gingerblossom and crochetedsass as friends in Ravelry, fyi. If anyone else is on Ravelry, I'll add you too! We'll have a whole group of SCSrs on there. lol. Now I need to take time to put some projects on there and just browse.
Hi! I have been taking a break from the holiday crochet rush, so nothing new here. I did finish this purse, using a chunky yarn and it came out so nice! I'll upload a picture when I get the chance. Oh, on future girls blog, she has a great tutorial on how to line a crocheted bag, it was so easy to do.

Do you know how to do future girls' foundation stitch? I want to try one of her purses, but can't get a handle on the foundation stitch. I probably have to follow the steps online with yarn and hook in hand a few more times, just wondering if you'd used it and if it was hard to master.

Yes, this was the 1st time I tried it. It did not make sense until I tried it. I know I looked at several sites to see which made the best sense to me since I am left handed and most were written for righties but I liked how she used the paperclips to help mark the stitches. I cheated and just did a chain and then single crochet for the beginning b/c I did not understand how to do the foundation stitch, but when it came to the handles, I couldn't improvise and figured out how to do it.
