Not only O Canada but get rid of "huh" and replace it with "eh"....not to mention elastic band versus rubber band, tennis shoes verses runners, chesterfield vs sofa, cutlery vs silverware, marks vs grades, try outs vs turn outs, mum vs mom, touque vs. ski hat....etc. etc.... Maybe we should have here come and visit us so we can welcome her properly.

Just popping in and reading the thread a bit. I needed a little break from all the box prepping/staple removing work - ugh! This is getting old and I so miss my stamps and visiting on the thread, not to mention commenting on cards.

So sorry to be delinquent in the commenting, but there are only so many hours in a day right now and sleep is already being compromised so I can get a little grouchy at times... Two to three more weeks and hopefully I'll get a break.

Pamzi: Hope your nose is looking better than ever.

Well, we got back from our little jaunt to Vegas last night. The weather in Vegas was great ~ we came home to bitterly cold weather though - ugh! The Cirque shows were amazing - DH and I had seen both of them before but were still totally wowed by them. The girls thought they were just awesome. Not being ones to spend much time in the casinos, we were pleased to both wind up on the plus side - not big $$$ but still better than losing! The photographers' trade show was great and our youngest thoroughly enjoyed it. I was filling my bag with some of the print samples thinking "I can use this background on a card..." -> crazy, eh?!? (BTW, good job fitting an "eh" into your post Kookzi!)

Congrats to Bugzi on her status as this week's QFTD!!! WTG!! Hopefully tomorrow will find me in the "Rubber Room".

Hope Pamzi's feeling better real quick...

I'm waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy behind checking out the gallery but since it's so cold out that I don't want to leave the house, maybe I'll get a chance later today.

Couple of questions: I call tennis shoes 'sneakers'...what do you call sneakers? Runners? How do you pronounce touque??? And, you have to admit.......sofa is so much faster and easier to say than chesterfield, eh? Besides, I say couch....easier yet! LOL!

• I call 'em runners. (Names for certain things can vary wildly across the country just like in the US.)
• Toque is pronounced like "two" with a k on the end. (Rhymes with duke.)
• At our house, we sit on a couch. (I think my Mom (unless there's a really strong British family background, most people around here use an "o" in Mom) might have referred to it as a chesterfield at some point in my life...couch works. Sofa isn't one I use often, but certainly more likely than chesterfield.)
• I do cringe when Canadians say "zee" instead of "zed" but I agree, here in the Punchiez thread, I can deal with all the "zees" becuz it workz...
• Even DH and I can't agree on pronunciation of lots of words - he grew up in Quebec... We pronounce several words quite differently: envelope, buffet, Caribbean are ones that come to mind. Haven't managed to convince him I'm right in 30+ years.

Thank you, Pam and everyone else. I am very glad to be here. I feel blessed to be in the company of such talent. Thanks for all of your positive comments . On the issue of my name...maybe you could help me out. I have it narrowed down to two choices: Mumziriezi (the U in deference to our Canadian friends and those Punchkateerz of recent royalty) or just plain Riezi. Any feedback that you could provide would help.
