Default Teacher Discounts

Share 'em if you got 'em!

Joanne's: 15% off entire purchase (yes, sale items, too!) You have to sign up for it once a year at customer service.

Michael's: Teacher Fridays 10%. I haven't tried this one yet.

Non-crafty: Ann Taylor Loft, Talbots, and Limited all have a % off--sometimes only on full-price items.

Thanks Meg! Our Michael's discontinued the teacher discounts, but good to know about JoAnn's! A.C. Moore used to have teacher discounts (not near one now to know if they still do) and Office Depot and Staples have teacher cards you can apply for, for certain sales and discounts and cash back awards.

Barnes and Noble = 20% off of books (you have to sign up for their teacher discount program)

Half Price books (used bookstore in Texas..not sure where else it's located) used to offer a discount, but I haven't shopped there in ages

Borders bookstore offers a 25% teacher discount with their teacher discount card

hmmmm....apparently I buy a lot of books.

Guess I should check out my M's and see if they're still doing the discount.

Duh, forgot about the bookstores! Books-A-Million offers 20% off everything (including magazines).

What annoys me is that our school keeps our ID badges over the summer....like, hello, how am I supposed to save money during my prime shopping months?!?

do you have a paystub you could show as proof? I've also used my swipe card as proof (and old id's I've kept).

What about a copy of your ID with your principal's signature on it or something? Would that work?

Michael's will accept your Joann teacher discount card as a competitor coupon, so you can get 15% off anytime.

Michaels in our area still offers the teacher discount... but seem to have lots of restrictions... can't be used on sale items, clearance items, no other coupons, etc. What it feels like to me is that you buy a regular price item and this pays the sales tax(in my town at 9%). You can only use it on a Friday.

Default Michaels 10% off

I have been getting emails from Michaels saying they now give 15% off all the time, including sale items, as long as you show your school ID. Haven't used it yet though.

I think so - it didn't say, just said teachers, and all you have to do is show your school ID.

I used this one for Copic markers this summer. I'm not sure if it is still on going, I didn't read anything about it ending though...

Not sure if this one was mentioned, Verizon gives a 15% discount if you take your pay stub in. New and current customers.

You can also show your Barnes and Noble teacher card at Michael's (that's what I did, since we don't have ID cards), which would work in the summer.

Pre-school teacher is still a teacher! They better give you the discount too!

Wow, that is a better discount than we get for being in the military, I think. I'd better check into that.

Try museums too. I always just ask if they take a teachers ID. We have a couple that allow you to get in FREE around here!!
