Wouldn't it be great if more companies offered their stamps both ways? I would imagine almost all stamps are digitized before they go to "press"...
River City Rubber Works has all of their stamps in digi and rubber. Click Downloads at their site (WWW.rivercityrubberworks.com) to see the digis.

Make sure if you are buying digi images you find out their rules on sharing of the printed images. Some of the companies won't let you share printed images, ie. the way you might stamp some images of a rubber stamp and give to a coworker or use for a swap, some of the digi companies do not allow that, so your use of the image will be much more restricted than if you bought rubber stamps or if you bought digis from elsewhere. I've been burned by this recently.

My wife had just set up her first business selling digistamps, As a graphic designer, I was sceptical about the whole digital stamp concept, but in reflection you can get some fantastic results. A lot of work goes in to creating each stamp.

I think if you read through the policies of most stamp companies, they're similar, in that they only want you to use the stamped images for personal use, or if you give away or sell the image, it must be a finished piece - that is part of a project and coloured in. I've contacted a few companies to get clarification, and they aren't happy that people "share" stamped images in swaps but also realize they don't have much control over it.

I love digital stamps, they take up no space except on my computer and they are so much cheaper. I am a low-budget crafter and I am in love with digi's!

Heart Awesome

I love my digis. I love that you can resize them, merge them, flip them. I feel like they are much more usable than regular stamps because you aren't tied to a certain size or orientation. Plus, I belong to the Crafters Digital Art Center, which is for digital artists/people that use and create digi stamps...and a better group of people you could not find. They are all so sweet and willing to help.

The stores I seem to buy most at are: Bugaboo Stamps, The Pink Cat Studio, Kenny K Downloads, The Greeting Farm and Simply Betty Stamps.

I love digis...i think why i love them so much is because they are cheaper than a rubber stamp, and i find more appropriate stamps for my friends (zombies, rockstars, vampires, etc). When you are on a stamping budget these are awesome! I also only use copics with digis and don't have a problem! I find PTI paper works the best for digis.

Oh and some companies i love are!

Any suggestions of printers that print "true to color" for MDS from SU?

I love digi stamps, what ever you want to call them. I usually print out 9 on a sheet of card stock and cut them apart. I have them in a basket on my table and when I draw a blank as what to do next I pull out one of those cute little images and my prisma colored pencils and commence to coloring. When I have finished the coloring, I cut it out using a nestabilitie to mat it and add a little bling. I now put it in another little basket. Now when I get ready to make a card I can just look in my basket and pick a pretty, and have a card made in no time at all!

Default paper going through printer

My old printer was a persnickity thing and in order to do things like business cards, (which yes, I did then) and other thicker things, the corners had to be cut off so that the center of the paper caught. what about just using a corner rounder on a piece of good stock and see what happens

That is the only way I got stock to go through that printer.

Good luck

Hi, Smallcity --

What program are you using? There are easy directions on my website for sizing and printing digital images in Word: AngelsLanding.com | Print Digital Stamp PNG Files in Word

If you run into any problems, post back again with the name of the program you are using to print, and someone should be able to help you figure it out. Good luck.

I absolutely LOVE digi stamps!! I like the variety and ability to resize. I have used both ink jet and laser and printers and I agree that the laser printer ink is less likely to smudge. However, I've found if I heat set the ink jet and let it sit overnight, they don't smudge. I usually use copics, SU! markers, pastels, watercolor--whatever. I have rarely had any trouble with bleeding.
There's a great site dedicated to digis called Crafters Digital Art Center. Here's the link

Default love digi's

like posted, it is so easy to print out one page of a stamp, and I have done it so that there are 3 different sizes on the page.

I haven't used them too much lately, but certainly did all fall and before Christmas.

Googled them and came up with mega places to look for some.

Have fun when you get the printing figured out. The first company I bought from also has a tutorial on working with them.

Check out pink cat studio. She has it posted there in the digi section,

Smile love digis

You can size a digi to any size that you need. That's what makes them so great to use. You can also layer them with other digis. Fun!
I love Scrapbook Stamp Society They have a bunch of different artists to choose from. All with different styles. They have freebies once a month.

I also like digi darlas, she has the cutest puppy with an envelope. She has freebies on her facebook page too

I almost always use a digi stamp for my projects. I've saved so much money going digital instead of buying rubber or clear stamps. There are many wonderful sources for digis, but my all time favorite is Mo Manning.

Thanks to all who posted other sources, I haven't heard of some of the sites mentioned but I'll check them out. I'm always on the look out for more digis.

I've been reading here how lots are having trouble with the ink smearing when you try to color your digital stamps. You can try a technique I've been using to Emboss your digital stamps (like a dream)! I use Neenah paper and just add some Gesso with a sponge brush, let it dry, sand it smooth, or leave it textured. Then print your digi and apply your powder asap! Embosses as if it was done with a rubber stamp! Like I did on these 2 digital stamps! I used my Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils on these cards, but you can also use your copics. The gesso doesn't harm them. The copics seems to float on top which gives it an unusual blend, you may or may not like it but one thing is for sure! Your inked image won't smear!!

If you're using copics and you're going to emboss the image be sure to use clear embossing powder or you'll end up with a big smeared mess.

I'd be careful when using alcohol markers like Copics over Gesso. The first coat is probably fine, but if you try blending or layering too many coats, the binder in the gesso may start breaking down from the alcohol and it could potentially clog your marker tips.

I am old school. Wanna hold it in my hand and then scrub off the ink.
Truth be known, my computer skills make it too frustrating. I will stick to rubber. Have lots of digis on the computer and can't use them.

It doesn't take much to get to know how to use them. If you have MS Word on your computer, its a snap to resize and print them. The easiest way I know is to first open up Word, then go the folder where your digi stamp is. Right click on the stamp image, then select copy. Go to your Word document and right click and select paste. Click on the image (because it will be really big - probably take up the whole page) and you will see some little round things in the corners. Click and hold on one of the corner round things and drag the corner in to make the image smaller. You can move it in and out until you get the image the size you want.

Give it a try BeckyTE. If you need help, we're all here and willing to walk you through it.
