Default Software to use?

Hi all, I am thinking of getting a little netbook but not sure how I could use it with my digi stamps. Right now I use my Creative Memories to resize and color. I'm wondering if there are any downloadable programs that I could use. Also with netbooks can you save things to an external drive? Just wondering if it would be better to go with this or just get another laptop?

Thanks

Michelle

You can definitely use an external drive with a netbook for storage - I do all the time. I don't use mine for graphics work, but there area few free programs that you could download - it may depend on what operating system is loaded on it. More than likely it would come loaded with Windows 7. I'm pretty sure GIMP and Paint.net would work on the Windows 7 platform.

Yes i second that GIMP is good, also check out Photofiltre - that's got layers and good features but is a lot simpler than GIMP, which has all the features of photoshop but tough to learn.
