Default recommended laser printer?

Hello, I don't use digi's too often, but in the past with my dinosaur of a printed I never had a problem with the ink bleeding.

Unfortunately, last week my printer made it to the end of it's life expectancy and we purchased a new one. Now the ink is smearing into the copics!!!!

I've been told a laser printed is what I need, can anyone suggest a brand or model that works well when colouring digis with copics?

Thanks so much

Before buying a laser printer, there are a couple things you can try to stop your ink from smearing. I would try heat setting your printout before colouring. If that doesn't work, and if your printer has two separate ink tanks for plain & photo black, then you can try setting the printer to print on "best" or "photo" and then print on your regular cardstock for your digis.

Hope these tips help. It would be a shame if you had to buy a separate printer. I have a Canon MP560 that works really well and I haven't had any problem with smearing - even with the off brand inks - thankfully.

all the info I have read suggested inkjets are a good way to go.... but I only do this for fun.

I don't know what your level of interest is in polyshrink papers, but they aren't recommended for laser printers.

I have started using digi stamps and digital papers on shrinky dink paper. You can get some pretty fun and unique results!

Laurie, I love my HP LaserJet! Never have any problems with smearing as long as I use it and not my inkjet. HTH!
