Default Hybrid work with color matching?

Hi,
I want to begin digi-scrapping and card making..probably hybrid. Do you find that the color you see on the screen matches what you print and also matches the item you'd pick up in a store? So if you use digi paper, add photos, but want to use real embellishments from the same line, will they match?

Thanks,
Mob

I know my printer has varied results depending on the paper I use, how old the ink is, etc. I would probably say no just based on that. The biggest thing to consider is the embellishments will be a different pmedia (different paper, or fabric for example) and manufactured using a high quality pigment that typical home printers don't have. Bottom line is maybe, but could be different enough that you won't be happy with the result if you expect it to be a perfect match. I am a hybrid card maker and sometimes need to really fuss just to get things to match or work around it somehow, but it suits my style just fine.

You need to calibrate your monitor to match the colour profile of your printer. There are lots of resources on the internet that have tutorials on how to do that and you'll easily find one by googling monitor calibration. Just as a little plug (and this post will probably be deleted for it ), but I just started my own digital scrapbooking shop. You can sign up for my newsletter (first one coming out in a few days). I plan on giving out a freebie once in a while & having tutorials/tips/technique for digital stuff. The link is in my signature.
