Red face AUGUST 2012-Task 1-DIGISCRAP PROGRESSIVE CHALLENGE (DGSCPR003Task1)

Hello! We’re going to start off simply this month, since many of you are absorbed in the Olympics or are still busy doing the VSBN Scrappin’ Fair 2012 challenges, the deadline for which is August 18th. Things will get more interesting with Task 2 next week!

Don’t know what a Progressive Challenge is? Go here to learn.

PLEASE NOTE! Although this is in the digiscrap threads, anyone is welcome to play--whether they're a digi, paper or hybrid scrapper. Just as the digiscrappers, when doing a traditional challenge, sometimes have to change up the instructions a little to fit their digi needs, the traditional scrappers might have to improvise on some of the digi techniques. It should make things interesting!

PROGRESSIVE CHALLENGE #3 – TASK 1 (AUGUST 2012)

- Choose a colored or patterned 12x12” paper for your background. Add another paper on top of that which is just slightly smaller than the 12x12 (about ” showing all around.) Add some kind of edges to the top paper--inked or a thin border or edge overlay. Or, if you’d prefer, instead of or in addition to the edge treatment, you can add a third paper, placing it between the background and the top paper. In that case, be sure each layer is a little smaller than the one below it. I think it will be best if you keep all the papers aligned, rather than tilting or skewing any of them. But, if you're a rebel, what can I say???

- Plan to use between 2 to 4 photos for this layout. We’ll need them for Task 2.

NOW UPLOAD:

- Save your page in its original version to maintain your layers, so you'll be able to make changes/additions in Task 2.

- Save your page for the web as a .jpg (600x600 or less) & upload to the Challenge 3-Task 1 Gallery by adding the keyword
DGSCPR003Task1 when you upload. Please also post this week’s work in this thread.

Reminder: When uploading your page to your gallery, on the Gallery Image Upload Page, choose the category “Scrapbooking/ Digital Scrapping” rather than “Scrapbooking/Progressive Pages,” since that “Progressive Pages” refers to a method of scrapping different from our progressive challenge.

Have fun! Don’t forget to leave some praise for your fellow challenge takers! Can't wait to see what everyone does with their pages this week!

I finally bought the Twitterpated digi kit from SU - I'd been waiting for the new MDS2 to come out to buy some dl's...

I'm planning on this being my March calendar page for my scrapbook, but I'll have to see what the other challenges are. Here's mine...

thanks!
