We're all late this weekend I'll be working on my page for Challenge #3 when I get home from the next wheelchair basketball game that I'm heading out the door to as soon as hubby pulls up with the Tim's! LOL Take your time!
i definately want to do persnickety. today i am fall cleaning, you know scrubbing floors with a toothbrush and the like!
i am not persnickety about much. our tree last year was a stick wrapped in lights, but i will not ever use a gift bag. never. always cloth ribbon. it can be a $5 gift in a $15 wrap job. presentation is everything. i think i have some gift packages somewhere.
gift package pictures. (i am rushing, because my husband saw me sitting for a second and he grabbed the remote and once that happens any help i get from him will come to a screeching halt!)
Digital Scrapbooking Day 2012 Challenge #6 (Final)
Well, this is the final challenge for the weekend! Don't forget, you have over a week to get any or all of these challenges done! (Deadline- 11/11/12 at 11:30 EST.)
As you know, both digi and traditional scrappers are invited to play the Digiscrap Challenges. The same goes in reverse—digiscrappers have always been welcome to play the non-digi challenges. We currently have two active hostesses for the non-digi challenges—Patti’s Thursday-Music & Lyrics challenges and Sally’s Sketch challenge. Patti has hung in there through a number of obstacles; Sally took a break for a bit, but she’s back now and her last two sketch challenges are awesome!
So, the final challenge today is to pick a challenge from either Sally’s or Patti’s challenges and create a page. (Or even better, you could use one of Sally’s sketches and do a challenge from Patti!)
Be sure to add the keywords DSD2012-06 and SBC12NOV so we can find your work! Paste your link here and please don’t forget to add the keyword for Patti or Sally’s challenge and also post a comment in their thread so they’ll know you did a page!!
The hostesses work hard, so let’s let Patti and Sally know we appreciate their time and commitment!
Bahahaha! I "only" spent $56 on the $1.25 punch I needed...
Yeah ... tough, eh?
So, now that we own ALL the 50% off kits, what next? (ok, not quite all ... but the sale isn't over yet)
I jumped ahead and I'm working on the patriotic challenge. Red and white. This I can do. (it's also the school colour for my kids ... college and high school)

Reason: forgot to add link!
Isn't it fascinating that so many of us "jumped" to Challenge 4 to do the template/patriotic page?
For me, I think it's because with the template I thought it would be easier (hah, someday I'll learn). And I knew I had red/white photos to go with a red/white layout.
Now ... to go check out the ones I missed. Or go to sleep.
Nah ... sleep is overrated!

Stampin Up! is celebrating Digital Scrapbooking Day with 3 great free downloads and a great 50% off sale on some free kits. Pop over and get your free downloads here:
You can use them with any digital scrapbooking program!
For Challenge #3, go ahead and GET the free downloads! Use the Split Second Download for your page. Here's a sample from My Digital Studio featuring the Split Second Download. Imagination - My Digital Studio See what you can come up with using the elements of the kit! If you CASE Kimberly's page, please give her credit by pasting the link to the page in your description.
I finished my page for this challenge. It also covers Challenge #6--I used Sally's sketch.
My page is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO different your use of the kit!
I did use two card stock papers from MDS that were not from the "A Split Second" kit and a few other non-SU elements, but as Gail has commented, my style is the opposite of yours!

I love how the same elements can be used soo many ways! I think I will do challenge 6 with the BINGO game....after a short nap, lol

If you don't have the kit (or are unable to download it for some reason - maybe you don't like free? ), or you are a traditional paper scrapbooker, try CASING Kimberly's great layout, or using arrows and chevrons, or the great color combo! Don't forget the keywords DSD2012-03 and SBC12NOV! I will add my page in a couple of hours - I'm off to a wheelchair basketball game first! See you all soon!!
I'm going to have to start combining ... I'm falling behind ... and haven't even done the Progressive Challenge this week!

This just might be my favourite page of the weekend!! I wish my crafty space was looking as clean and tidy right now - and considering I've been digital scrapbooking all weekend I have no real good excuse for it looking the way it looks! LOL
I finally got the 2nd challenge done! Boy am I slow or what...but finally decided I am a 2 pager. All the pictures are rectangles except the two at the top right. I cut them in a rectagnel using a deckled Nestie and then turned them slightly & ran them through the Cuttlebug again. In case you can't see the journaling for those 2 pics, this is a place on the river called Squaw Head because of the paintings. They are painted high up on the face of some rocks. My DH said the one of the left has been there as long as he can remember but the right one is newer but still it's been there a long time. Hope to work on challenge #3 tomorrow night. Oh & thiese ares pages 2 & 3 towards my November goal.

These are GREAT pages! I figure you should work at the speed that feels best for you. I can often get quite a lot done quickly, but then I have a lot of dead time in between where I just don't have time to create. It all averages out - so long as you are having fun!

Yes, I AM having fun! I can't believe how many pages I've done since Sept. I'm so glad I found this goup! Well I'd better get to bed, morning will be here before I know it.
i dont drink bottle water, drink it right out of the tap, i dont own a designer purse, not a gourmet foodie, but i am a snob when it comes to wrapping packages. i have cut my gift buying for every occasion back, not because of money because i just won't do obigatory gift giving anymore. if you get a gift from me, its because i really want you to have an item the i really thought about instead of one that i ran into the department store, closed my eyes and spun around and grabbed something and said "there, thats done." and i want it presented beautifully. when i receive a gift and someone shoves a gift bag in my direction and says "here." i always think it was an unwelcome effort on their part. it might not be, but i always have guilt that they had to go out of their way. my husband rarely buys me a gift for any occasion, but my kids told me the last time he bought me a gift, that he was watching youtube videos on how to tie bows. i do not remember the gift, but i will always always remember the effort, that he wanted me to have a beautiful package, that he did himself.
when i was a kid, we lived outside of a little town, that was outside of a bigger town. that bigger town had a weises department store (our version of macys) they had a gift wrap department and they used fabric for their bows. my only career goal until at least high school, when everyone else wanted to be teachers or stewardesses or astronauts, i wanted to be the gift wrap girl at weises. probably not healthy and my parents might have suggested higher goals and could explain a less than dynamic career now, but a true story!
