Question storybook creator ?

I have a few questions about CM Storybook Creator that I'm hoping someone on here can answer.

First, what added benefits are there to plus?

Second, can you import digital themes/kits purchased elsewhere (other than CM) into Storybook?

TIA!

Hi! I'm a former CM consultant and have done several storybooks with creator PLUS. Hope this helps....First of all, you cannot add non-CM kits. Storybook Creator only works with CM downloads (this is a downside). What I've found to be the best feature of PLUS is the ability to be a little more creative with your pages - you can start with a blank page, add background paper and embellishments of your choosing - you're not tied down to the templates. You can still use the templates, but with Plus you have the ability to CHANGE them as you please (add or delete elements such as a whole picture or just a single embellishment). You can also use an embellishment (say a staple from the everyday kit) on a template from a different kit (say Starry Night). I've been very pleased so far with Storybook Creator Plus, but just wish they would come out with more kit downloads faster!! I did a 12x12 album for my son's entire first year (it was about 75 pages) and am ready to start his second year, but don't want it to look just like the first album, but I'm running out of kits. Anyway, I hope this was helpful!!

Hi Wendy,

Great questions! I am a CM Consultant and yes, you can upload "Freebies" etc from the net into the Plus software.

Also, CM is coming out with new templates that you can purchase at a competitive price to add to the ones that come with the Plus software.

If you'd like more info, feel free to send me a message.

I have made albums with the free and the plus software and I am loving the Plus!

To download and use non-CM digi packages:
  • follow the download instructions from the non-CM company (I create a separate subfolder in My Documents folder called "Digi Downloads" so I know where to find them). You may need to "unzip" a file, and just do that before you move on to importing it into SBPlus.
  • Now that you've downloaded them, you have to import them into the SBPlus program. Open SBPlus and on the Home tab, click on "My Stuff" (upper left corner)
  • Click on "File", then "Add Collection." I create a new file for each digi-co I download from, like Little Dreamer Designs -- or you could name your files by theme, it's up to you!
  • OK, now with that file highlighted in your list, note the two tabs Papers and Embellishments. If you want to import paper files, then click on the Papers tab; if you're importing embellishments, click on Embellishments tab. So with the right tab selected, and your file highlighted, click on the Content menu option & select Add Paper or Add Embelishment.
  • Then you just browse to where you downloaded the files, and as soon as you select & import the files, they will show up in your list of options under Papers or Embellishments.

Hope this helps! I'm not on this board much, so I might miss any questions you have ... so if you have questions, you can email me at scrapbuzz@gmail.com. Also, if you look on my blog, you'll find a list of resources for digi freebies. I've downloaded a ton of them and use them with SBPlus. Have fun!

Ok, and now my designer instincts just kicked in and I think I have found my new calling. I didn't get that degree in graphic design for nothing afterall!

Wendy, if you're interested in designing, Little Dreamer Designs is having a 4-week "Apprentice" program for designing your own graphics! The deadline to enroll is this Friday (2/29). I've got thelink on my ScrapBuzz blog, in a post I put up yesterday, so go check it out! I think it would be awesome to be able to design your own graphics, and I think there's a big market for it!!

Default You can add other digi kits!

Just thought I would say I'm a former CM consultant and you can add other digi kits into your SBC+ program. Upload your .png files into your "my stuff" from the homepage by adding a new collection and then uploading it as either paper or embellishments. Super easy and so functional. It's the best.
