I just posted in the tools and product forum then saw this forum. Has anyone purchased Polaroid's My Memories Suite for digi scrapping? I'd like to start and this looked easy to use on the infomercial but was hoping I'd get some help here before purchasing. Thanks!

I have never heard of it.
Im sorry I wish I was more help.
I'd recommend trying a trial version of Corel Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop Elements or Creative Suite.
All three of those programs will allow you to do some things that other programs dont allow, like making a clip look attached, or adding different drop shadows. One program that I owned, wouldn't allow me to use freebies that I found online, I HAD to use their products. As nice as that sounds, I got really sick of the same element colored 100 times. That program quickly got trashed and I moved on to PSP.
PSP was just 50 dollars a couple weeks ago. Check your Best Buy ads as well as Circut City--they often have these programs cheap. Or you can always try EBaying for that product or an older product.
I recently purchased My Memories Suite software and it rocks! I love it. I have been able to create scrapbooks and greeting cards in just a few hours! It's so user-friendly. A lot easier than any other product I have used. They offer lots of designs and they have new ones you can purchase for pennies on their website every month. Here is their website in case you are wondering more about the product: mymemoriessuite.com
Happy scrapping!
Thanks Wendy and Sandy. I purchased it and have been playing with it some. I'm having a couple of problems that I just need to call tech support about but have been very happy with it so far. Now to find the time!

Karma, I too had some questions with the program after I purchased it, but the tech team for My Memories Suite is awesome. They walked me through every problem I had and were very patient. I hope you have the same luck as I did. By the way, I just got my first album in the mail that I created and it looks so good! The printing is so professional looking and I am going to go ahead and order some more albums for my family. Good luck with the software.
Sandy
I found this little software a few weeks ago. I love using it. It was very cheap in comparison to Photoshop Elements. I can create entire scrapbooks in only a few minutes using the design templates. In fact, I have made 12 digital scrapbooks so far! As of yet, I have not tried the bound book feature (which looked really exciting on the infomercial).
I went to the website that Sandy mentioned above and it threw me to a .tv site trying to sell me the software again (I did not see the button in the upper right corner for those that already own the software). When I found the real site (same as Sandys with the a /home added) I found a bunch of papers and packs that are pretty cheap. I purchased a couple and everything is high resolution that I can also use in Photoshop too. Nice looking stuff on the site. I am making some of my own papers in Photoshop now to use with My Memories Suite.
Hi DBlack,
Don't you just love the My Memories Suite s/w? I am an avid Photoshop user but I find, like you, I can quickly create albums fast and easy. It's great for me as I am a busy mom who works full-time and manages a big family. Yes, the webiste is a little confusing to get to designer templates, but I just love the designs you can buy. I've checked out other websites for digital scrapbooking and wow, it seems to be much less expensive. Do you do a lot of digital scrapbooking?
Sandy
Thanks Sandy. I will definately be giving tech support a call. I've been a little hesitant since I'm not very computer savvy. Glad to hear they're patient.

Hi, Karma,
I really have the same requirement for digi scrapping. I visited many websites and compared many digital software. My friend recommend me a good choice:Wondershare Photo Story Platinum+Photo Collage Studio,YOU know, the total price is $69.95. Cheaper than Polaroid's My Memories Suite - $79.98. AND the main function is similar, Wondershare product enables you to make collages and scrapbooks. It also enables you to make DVDs, create video for Youtube, Ipod, iphone and more.
I have bought wondershare product and feel easy to use, especially suitable for green hand on PC. but I Find your thread late.
To me, share this information will provide more choices for many new friends here have same requirement on digital collage or slideshow.
I looked into Wondershare Photo Book Platinum and I did not really care for it. The designs seemed very limited and it looked like an ordinary photo book look. I prefer My Memories Suite (Polaroid) because you can keep it simple, or you can make your pages look like real scrapbooking albums. It so versatile too. With My Memories Suite you can add music, video, page transitions, and hyperlinks to your pages and export to DVD, iPod, CD, and of course to printed pages to hard bound albums. I also made a nice calendar and designed my Christmas Cards in this software. I think the software speaks for itself. I have made several DVD presentations for my parents of my kids since we live in another state and they love just popping in their DVD and watching us on TV. I added music and also used the video footage from my son's piano recital on a couple of the pages. I find that if I make DVD's for my family, I can include everything onto one disc and send it off to them every few months to see how the kids are growing up.
I am just glad that I stumbled upon this software. It not only saves me time, but lots of money from traditional scrapbooking and it does so much more.
Sandy
Hi. In answer to your question...Yes! You can purchase more elements. I was just at the My Memories Suite store and they have a lot more new templates and designer packs you can add to the software. They are competitive in price with other places I've gone to.
I just stumbled onto this thread and find it fascinating! From what I understand about this software, you can add any of the free digital scrapbooking kits that are out there in blog world and there are tons of them (I'm on of the ones that gives away freebies). You don't have to just purchase them!
I was watching a video online just yesterday showing you how to add your own paper and elements to this program. I'll try to find the link and post it.
Hi - I just recently purchased My Memories Suite and am happy with it but am having a problem with elements purchased later from the 'store'. I downloaded them but once in Memories Suite, cannot find them. How do I access them?
i just purchased my copy of the software a couple months ago and have been having so much fun with it! look at all the cute things you can create with it
I'm new to digital scrapbooking but I recently tried My Memories Suite and the thing that's so much better than other products are the templates. In my opinion, they are much more professional-looking than other products. You can see more screenshots, video demos and read some reviews on this site:
i was wondering if there is a limit on the text that can be entered in this program. i am looking to use it more as a journal than a scrapbook, but i do want to add photos.
if you have any other suggestions for an online journal that can be printed as a hardbound book, i would love to hear them.
Joan- you and I can compare notes. I just ordered (earlier today) the Memory Mixer program. QVC had it for a sale price and I can return it for 30 days, so it's a no-brainer.
I am waffling between Memory Mixer, My Memories Suite and Creative Memories Storybook Creator. SOOOO hard to choose without using them- and learning to use them, lol!
I'll let you know when it gets here and I've had a chance to play.
thanks, I have a MAC so I had limited choices. I'll post when it gets hear and I've had a chance to try it out! Look forward to seeing how your software works.

ooh, sorry you are sick. yes, I got it the other day. It is really geared towards scrapbookers, not cardmakers. the elements they have are pretty basic so I may want to get some other digital elements that I know they sell. That said, I've been fooling around with it and having fun! I think there is potential here for me!

Well, I've played with the MM software a little bit. I am completely addled with this cold, but had to see how it works. I am totally NOT happy with this page, but wanted to play with various things, so this is how it came out.
The more I read, the more it seems that MMS is much more popular- or at least seems to have a much bigger web presence. I am thinking I may probably send the MM back and replace it with MMS, just for more available support from others using it. Then again, the MM was a great price. Then again, it's only a $20 difference, and how much is $20 when we're talking about scrapbooking?
Mostly, I wonder how much of this is the Nyquil talking, lol!
Anyway, here's the first, totally bad but I used a bunch of the tools, page from MM.
Just wanted to update for anyone reading. I did, in fact, return the MM and order the MMS. After minimal time spent with the MMS, I don't see a lot of significant differences between the two. Both seem easy to begin playing with and I've created pages in both. My final decision was based on the MMS activity online- an active Facebook group and also support from Digital Scrapbooking Place for MMS. In fact, I bought the DSP version of MMS.
I have not figured out yet how to save as jpegs so I can't show a picture. :( This may be the first downside I've found.
Has anyone else who has My Digital Studio (by Stampin' Up!) noticed that Polaroids My Memories Suite seems to be the exact same program style with different elements. When I saw the screen shots of MMS I noticed it is basically the same program as MDS.
I really love MDS and I find it so easy to use. Since it looks the same parent company must make that software I don't think you could go wrong with MMS either.
I thought I read somewhere here on Splitcoast stampers perhaps, that MMS doesn't have the card sized templates. Being a cardmaker at heart, I do love having that option available on MDS. I don't know if there is any update or newer version of MMS that has that. when you just got the MMS did it come with card templates?
I love all the support out there for MMS. I've bookmarked the pages and I'm going to go there for ideas (and maybe some extra kits to use with my MDS) since they are basically the same thing...as far as I can see!

I have My Memories Suite and think that SU's program must have been based on it as the similarities are striking. MMS does not have a good card template, at least not one that I have been able to find. Nothing that just lets you build 2 A2 cards on a page or even 1 A2 card. However, it does allow you to convert your items and print them where ever you want, which is an advantage over SU's.

would love to know how you are making greeting cards. I'm a dork.

I have made many pages, but haven't printed them outside of my home printer yet. I was very happy the way it printed on glossy paper with my home printer, but I was planning on taking them to somewhere like Costco where it is cheap and probably would make sense than using up all that ink at home, I think the Stampin' Up! printing is outrageous...I really pray there is an easy way to print it elsewhere then home. How could I recommend something to my customers that I think is too pricey myself? I love the software and recommend it wholeheartedly, but something has gotta change about the printing prices.
From what I understood it is very easy to take my completed pages and put it on a disc and go have it printed somewhere like Costco. I haven't tried it yet but I imagine it is easy to do. I printed a card through the printing service but the shipping was way too pricey, and everything I've printed at home has been fabulous anyway.

I have MMS (as well as CM's SBC+) and really like it a lot!
I find MMS, so far, a little easier and more intuitive than the CM program but I like the CM elements and papers a lot. Having both is terrific (although expensive!) and I have found that I can use the elements and papers interchangeably. I'm not sure if that would work, though, if I didn't have the CM software program.
I am looking at buying the two as an investment. I won't be buying much paper anymore, and I really wanted to switch to digi-scrapping as we are planning to downsize our house (to one significantly smaller!) within a couple years, so getting out from under the storage needs for all the paper and tools was a big factor for me.
Hi, I did a google search about MMS and found this forum. I have been using MMS for about a year and love it! I love that this program is so easy, I was making pages right away. I love that you can also use outside content with this program. You are not limited to just what they offer in there downloads. You can go to mymemories dot com website and order online for US and Canada. I have a $10 off coupon code that MMS offered to me to share w/ friends and family. Mostly all my friends and family leave it up to me to do the designing so, I wanted to find other digi scrappers out there to this with. MMS offers several tutorial online and their FB page is very active with wonderful support from other digi scrappers.
Just copy and paste this code: STMMMS20257
This is a $10 discount on the purchase of the My Memories Suite v2 scrapbook software. (Software also comes with a $10 coupon for downloads-a total value of $20!)
