Default Color trueness?

Hi,
I want to begin digi-scrapping and card making..probably hybrid. Do you find that the color you see on the screen matches what you print and also matches the item you'd pick up in a store? So if you use digi paper, add photos, but want to use real embellishments from the same line, will they match?

Thanks,
Mob

Hi. I've been trying some hybrid cards and am working on a hybrid scrapbook. I use mostly Stampin' Up products. I have had the same concerns and have done a bit of research; it seems that your printer has the biggest impact on colour matching. My printer is not a very expensive one and I find some colours print closer to true colour than others. Stampin' Up does offer it's own printing service and the colour match is guaranteed with them. Hope this helps.

I'm going to bump this up to digi-cards and maybe we'll get more input.

I've been digiscrapping and printing the layouts for a couple years and the colors are always true for me. I guess if you had an old monitor you might have problems but there are ways you can calibrate the colors. Also, I print with PersnicketyPrints.com and the colors are amazing. When I print things myself, the colors are pretty good but I need a better printer!

KatieNK,
Do they print 12x12? I don't have anyplace local that will print 12x12. Our printer doesn't print that size either. it's an older HP Photosmart 7300 series inkjet. Of course, the ink is expensive, but I was thinking of printing some pics or cards on it.
Thanks,
Mob

Yep they sure do print 12x12! I love their prints! Twice a year they have a semi-annual sale and the prints are pretty cheap.
