CAS69 - Heroes (May 31)
What is CAS?
CAS is an acronym for Clean and Simple. There are different ways people view CAS. It is very subjective. There is no list of rules that will fit everyone’s personal definition. The following are possible guidelines, only. Please do not feel afraid of playing in the CAS challenge or debate with yourself if you’ve created a CAS card. If it is a CAS card to you, put CAS in the keyword box. 1. Clean: the design is uncluttered with lots of white or open space. Simple: having a clear focal point without a lot going on to detract from it. OR 2. simple in design regardless of the number of embellishments or how long it takes to color, stitch or to use a special technique OR 3. can be copied and mass produced fairly quickly… usually without a lot of coloring, layers, embellishments, tools and/or techniques OR 4. any combination of the above ************************************************** ******* This is both a sad and an exciting week. It's sad because it's the last week for the spring 2010 CAS design team. I have enjoyed working with these ladies and will miss them. It's also exciting because on Friday I will announce our new DT for the summer! Thank you to all who have participated in the DT search and in the weekly challenges. Without you, this wouldn't be so much fun. :D CAS Theme Challenge: Heroes On Memorial Day in the USA, we honor the people who have served in the armed forces and lost their lives. Today, I thought it would be fun to honor them and/or our everyday heroes at home. I chose to make my card for my husband. Keyword: CAS69 DT samples to help you get started with ideas: Alanna's Card Carly's Card Kelly's Card Boo's Card CAS69 Gallery Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma. If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping! Need help linking a card? Follow these instructions! 1. Open 2 windows: One window for your card and one for this thread. 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE. You’re done! |
I am so touched by this challenge Jen - my hubby, like so many others SCSers, is overseas protecting our freedom this Memorial day. Thank you so much for this sweet tribute.

Shame on me! I don't think I have any patriotic stamps. I do have star, maybe I could work something up with them. Or I might have to make a card for Dad's day for my daughter (she is the ultimate Daddy's Girl).

Nice to stop and take some time to reflect! Here's my Poppies.

I have a couple hero cards - both that I'll be sending to Operation Write Home. The eaglet card is a digi from the OWH blog hop this weekend, and the red, white, and blue hedgie is just because he's cute! :-)

Hey there!
Once I realized I had a suitable sentiment for this challenge, I went ahead and made two cards with it: Simple Hero and Homespun Hero Enjoy! |
Another great challenge Jen, especially when it makes us take a step back and really appreciate the people in our lives.
here is my card: My Everyday Hero |
|
CAS 69 Heroes
Here is a basket of red, white & blue flowers to honor those who have fought and are fighting to insure our freedom. It's not very CAS. Hope I won't be booed too bad!
|
Great work, stampers! I am so inspired by all that I saw!
FYI-- There are some free digi's on my blog that would be great for this challenge. http://sayitwithstampsbyjen.blogspot.com/ |
Here's my simple card - glad to be ahead of the game for Father's Day. Thanks, Jen!
