thanks Jen, I see I am in round 2, but instead of a down hill slope the competition is steep, it looks like an up hill challenge for sure...lol...thanks...I will get my gear on and get at it! *~*

Woohoo glad to hang in here still!! The bar is certainly set high already!
I'm making the card now, but I've been wondering... hopefully "inspired" by an Olympic sport means, that there does not necessarily need to be snow there, right?
You are right!
Jen

Thanks for letting me continue on with all these talented stamping Olympians. I am putting my thinking cap on for this inspirational challenge...it's a good one!! :-)
It's been fun playing and seeing everyone's work! Congrats to those who made it to the next round. I look forward to seeing what you come up with for that tough-sounding challenge!

Wow - Thank you so much for picking my cards! I had a chance last night to look at all the competition and I was so impressed by everyone's entries! I feel very lucky!
OMG - thank you so much for letting me be one of those going to the next round, and congratulations to all the others too! As some of us say here in the UK at amazing news, 'I'm gobsmacked!' Looking forward to making a card for this new challenge!
Jen and all who have pulled this together a big thank you! We appreciate you and the current design team. I truly was amazed I made it through to this round...I almost didn`t join in with all these great stampers but thought it would be all in good fun! I appreciate the opportunity. Good luck to all! Still thinking on my card. :-)
Congratulations to all who made it to the second round! Don't be discouraged if you didn't! I'm sure it was a very difficult process for Jen to narrow down the field! Keep 'em coming!
I just posted something on #6 but thought I should post it in a more current place on the thread.... and expand on it.
* This is so much fun! Just wait until you see what I have in mind for the closing ceremonies! When you think of The Olympic Games Closing Ceremonies, what do you think of? Well, if you think like me, it will be showy.... AND a walk down memory lane like a reporter would add to it. You won't want to miss it!
Why? It's one of those creative moments when an idea pops in your head and you just gotta do it. KWIM And literally, this popped in my mind when I got on the site to start posting... totally not kidding! This is really motivating me.... all the enthusiasm, the Olympians keeping the theme spirit alive with their comments, the "underdogs" taking that first chance. I wasn't sure I was up for a new DT call because life has been crazy, depressing, and stressful lately. That's why, I realize now, that I needed a change in the new DT search to keep me going.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are the ones actually making this happen. There wouldn't be excitement without you (and our moderator included - TexasGrammy). And therefore, the fun closing ceremonies wouldn't be more than announcement without your excitement. Because of you, you won't want to miss it!!
**I know that naturally there are disappointments when the field gets narrowed down. As the Wide World of Sports says, ".... the agony of defeat." You can't run from it. But... you can run back in! I want to see you in 3 months!!!
***There will be guest designers this season. And some of the guest designers will be chosen from the original torch runners that did not move on to round 2. Seriously. It will be announced in the closing ceremonies.

Oops, I'm so sorry, I had my 2, two year olds at my feet when I read the post, created my card, uploaded and just went back now to read everything again to see that I needed to have a slope inspired card. Yikkes. My mistake. Can I re-make it?
There are two views because of the cut of it, I wasn't sure you could tell on the first view how it opens, but on the second view you can't see the cute penguin as well.
Good luck to everyone!!

I didn't peek see what everyone did until now because I didn't want to be influenced but maybe I should have...can you tell I live in FL where there's no snow? Do I need snow? I've had butterflies in my stomach all day so I just transferred them to my card....here I go:
Oh my - living in Florida I had to really think about this one. Now - if you had a challenge for flamingos or palm trees I would be set for life!
Anyway, here is my "slope inspired" card. I was inspired by the beautiful scenery of the cross county skiing events:
