Thanks, vikkijo. We made one of these at our monthly stamp club but I forgot about it. I'll need to make some of these. I have so many ideas from everyone. I don't know where to begin.

Well, I took another shot at a quilted card. I made this one a 3x3 square. I also found my 3/4 punch so I think I will take another shot at the 5x5 square. I need to pull out a quilting book and look at some of the patterns! This brought my total down to 60 bucks in the red. I have Michael's coupons but am going to look at storage options. I do better when I can find stuff.

Pamela, that is a beautiful quilted card! The embossing really fits in with the quilt idea!

That's adorable! I wonder if you could run the squares thru the Xyron so you didn't have the issue with corners coming up?

That is the general agreement around here... I didn't think of it when I made the hippo card, but if I make any more that will probably be the way to go!

Please add me to the list. I will try to do 10 cards per month. I can't believe I am already 2 months behind. I need to get back on track so I am not in a bind later in the year!

Thanks!

Default It's a Christmas Card Stamping Day!

Good morning all my Christmas Card buddies! Are you planning to be busy little elves today?

I am. Between getting my Feb. Christmas Cards done today, finishing up a couple other projects and then sliding into VSN this afternoon... I'm going to be so covered in ink and glitter... Whoooo Hoooo!!

For any of you experiencing blizzard/ wintery conditions today - take advantage of it! You weren't going to do anything but work today anyway. Count it as a vacation day and absorb yourself in your hobby.

Kids you say? Let them play too! My grandaughter was cleaning my stamps when she was 2 - and did a very good job! 'course I precleaned them but she THOUGHT she was helping grandma

So pour your favorite beverage, drop something in the crock pot and put on Christmas music! It's ELF TIME!

Wish I could stay home all day and make cards. But, alas, I do have to work. I do get off early this afternoon. It is so cold here, it would be a perfect day to be able to stay home. Nothing shuts down here no matter what the weather is like.

I sorry Debbie. You know, if you'd move south where places like Nashville shut down if they even forecast snow hehe...

We didn't get any snow here in the southern Ozarks of MO. However it did rain for 10 hours straight yesterday... flooding the low-water crossings at both ends of my road. We have a reprieve today and tomorrow. Then it moves back in on Sun, Mon, Tue. guess I need to go to town for a few things tomorrow just in case.

No snow in the Ozarks but it is damp (gee - it did rain for 10 hours yesterday) so I'm still running the wood burner to keep the damp/ chill at bay so I can enjoy my day. Trying to decide on which Christmas movie to watch. Has to be one on VHS as we've not set up the new combo player in the studio yet. Narrows my options.

We don't have snow but the temp is -25F. Even if it was -60 nothing would shut down. When we moved from Nebraska (and the humidity) 9 years ago, I wanted to move south but dh wanted to come back to our home state of Montana. I don't mind the snow too much, I just hate the cold. It's been a long time since Montana has seen such a long, cold winter. I remember winters that were colder. I hope you all enjoy your snow days. At least I get to work around books. I'm a library clerk and only work part time.

I've about finished clearing the work surface. I found lots of little boxes of misc. stuff last night when I tackled the office side of the dungeon. Most of it got put away right off. But there were a few things I just wasn't sure where they were going - or even if I was keeping them. After 3 hours of cleaning I decided enough was enough and this could wait until today. I only have one small section of the office to sort and the dungeon will be completely 'sorted/pitched' after 9 long months. But that part will wait for another day. Today I just want the misc. stuff out of my way for good - one way or th other.

When I'm not stamping, I'm writing. So other than working in a stamp/ scrapbooking store, the library would be my other 'dream job'. That or a western history museum

I keep looking at other jobs that are full time, but haven't found anything to compare to working in the library. I used to read mostly historical romances because they're pretty mindless reading with some history thrown in. Since I started at the library 5 years ago, I have been reading a lot of different genres. I just started a book by Wynona Judd titled Restless Heart. Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks?

When you are amongst things you enjoy, it is kind of hard to think about going elsewhere. Sometimes happiness is the best job

My desk is cleared. Do you know how many credit card/ glue spreaders I've accumulated? Let's just say as I put away more that I found last night I had to search for a new storage container. And do you know there were more American Express than any other 'solid plastic' pitch cards. Discover came in 2nd.

I'm going in search of protein then can start playing. I have 2 batches of stamped images. Haven't decided which ones I'll start with. Both have 'drying time' involved so those can be in progress while I work on another project.

I've been at work for an hour and I'm bored out of my mind. This cold weather is keeping people home. The circulation desk is cleaned up. I don't have any phone calls to make. And I can't read a book at the desk. It's a good thing I work in a small town library. I think I'll check out some stamp companies and do a little dream shopping.

back from the dr's.....the good news is that the bones are healing, despite the osteoporosis....the 'boot' contraption on the left foot can go into storage as long as i wear 'sensible' shoes - have to check to see if i own any!

i can start physical therapy for the arm/shoulder to regain range of motion....i called them went we got back...we're checking to see if they are 'approved' from my insurance...if they are i start march 7!!! orders are for 3 days a week for 4 - 6 weeks..AND...they have night hours!!!!

the bad news is - the short term disability insurance company has determined that my 'injury' only allows for 14 days of coverage...so that means that they paid me through feb 17.....dr had a good laugh....he will be calling them today - he thinks they are ignoring the arm/shoulder...hope so...

i'm hoping after a few sessions of physical therapy that i might be able to start making cards again.....need to make the february cards and the march cards!!!!!! i'm not that far behind!!!!

Seems to me they'd let you read! Goodness what better recommendation for a book and the library than have the librarian enjoying one! Silly people. let us know if you find anything awesome on your 'shopping trip'.

Great news, Carol!

Right after my last post, about being able to get started, my wood man called to let me know he'd be out with a delivery. So while I was bundled up, I brought in a week's worth of wood (it's suppose to be wet and cold most of the week) and took care of the dogs. I THINK I'm finally done.

I am going to break about 4 p.m. to go into town for catfish. After the slow progress I've made today, I've decided someone else can cook. I'll be squeaking back in just after the first VSN challenge is posted.

But for now, I have about 3 hours I can accomplish 'something'. hehe

I'm good at tuning out everything around me once I open a good book or a magazine. I look busier if I'm on the computer. I found lots of great digistamps and I never made a dent in all the choices. Good thing I didn't have my check card on me at the time. I got to thinking about all the money I could make if I could talk dh into selling some of his artwork as digistamps. I might have to have him make a few for me. I am so happy to be home now.

Carol, hope you get the insurance stuff straightened out. You'll be back to stamping in no time.

I've just been catching up on the posts! I've been sleeping my days away....literally! I'm working nights, and having trouble getting to sleep, but I figure I need to stay in bed in order to get to sleep, so that's where I've been all day! I may have time to do a bit of stamping before I go off to work tonight at 11.

Insurance companies have no grasp on reality do they?

March isn't even here yet darling so you aren't too far behind!

Well i wrecked my room again. I took the big Entertainment/book case from the living room and brought it in here.

I left work early to go to the clinic, got home and moved it. then at 6 logged on here. Started VSN then couldn't find the stamps i want. So I had to finish what I had started. Looks good now. The TV is eye level, not such a crook in my neck to look at.

I'll be back tomorrow to catch back up with VSN, and you ladies galleries.

i can start physical therapy for the arm/shoulder to regain range of motion....i called them went we got back...we're checking to see if they are 'approved' from my insurance...if they are i start march 7!!! orders are for 3 days a week for 4 - 6 weeks..AND...they have night hours!!!!

the bad news is - the short term disability insurance company has determined that my 'injury' only allows for 14 days of coverage...so that means that they paid me through feb 17.....dr had a good laugh....he will be calling them today - he thinks they are ignoring the arm/shoulder...hope so...

i'm hoping after a few sessions of physical therapy that i might be able to start making cards again.....need to make the february cards and the march cards!!!!!! i'm not that far behind!!!!
Carol - so nice to hear you are progressing along. I hope the doctor can sort out the insurance company for you. Seems like insurance dictates health needs anymore instead of the doctor who has actually examined you!

i hate insurance companies!!!! I had a fight a few months ago with our medical insurance - and that is still unresolved...now i'm fighting with the disability company - I was joking with the head of HR at work about why every insurance company she picks hates me!!!
