Yep..Sign me up for another year. Enjoyed having all my cards done before december and making my friends envious of not having to cram xmas card making into december. I did 5 for 2010 but also found it was easier to make 6. So 6 it is for 2011.
There is some excellent inspiration for Christmas cards in today's gallery. Including one using a build a blossom punch coming up in the new occasions mini. Beautiful layered poinsettia.

Kelly you are such an enabler! LOL
Good Morning Ladies!
So.. has anyone started their cards yet, or have an idea for January's set? I do have an idea for mine, papers ready... but I keep side tracking myself with other projects! LOL

I hope this answers everyone questions
I have received a few PM"s asking if you HAVE to wait until the first of the month...
Nope!
This is not a race. You can start your cards well before the 1st of the month or wait until the middle of it.
This is just motivation to have a set of cards done before each month ends.
The "prize" will go to a random person who has completed their cards for a month within that month.
Example... say you upload you cards for January today, You have a chance for the prize,
Now say someone uploads their cards for January, February 1st.. they will not be in that drawing.
I am keeping an excel sheet with names on it and I will keep track of uploads (cards done)
I might cut the names out and let my 3 yr old gs pick one!
Then again maybe not, he might think he needs a prize too!
I really hope that helps... please let me know if not.
Please sign me up. I enjoyed participating in the 2010 challenge and I love the fact that I have my cards done. Now I need to get them in mail. My goal is 10 cards monthly.
sign me up for the 2011 challange. I am going to shoot for 10 a month. I personal need about 50 for christmas, then what extra's I have will go towards Operation Write Home. As I'm new to that too. I have 150 Hero cards I need to get done by april. I'm having each cadet in our High School's JROTC program write a card and there are 150 cadets total. I would like to do this twice a year, so I'm hoping that by doing this challange it will keep me on track for christmas too.

I have an idea for my January cards. However, the studio is in a shambles right now. I just finished painting/ covering the cabinet all of my stamps/ embellies are stored in. Now I'm working on covering storage containers and making new labels for the drawers LOL
I promised Bob I'd have the studio done by the time he got home next week so all I'll have left is the new table top and transfering stuff to the base filing cabinets...
Oooh can I join in too? I still need some for this year as I was so disorganised. I will aim for 4 a month, definitely agree with the even numbers idea!
I am still new to this craft, (only 9 months so far!) so I am worried that I won't like my January cards come November. Any tips?

HI Bexx
Welcome to the group. VikkiJo will officially add you to her excel sheet this weekend when she gets back.
First off, don't worry about how your cards look. As long as they please you, that's the important thing. However, to boost your confidence, cruise the gallery and find cards you think you can 'copy' or CASE as we say. Make a few. Soon you'll find yourself turning a mat a way you think looks better.
And never be afraid to look at a sketch or card and ask WHAT IF? What if you used a different color/ stamp/ turned a mat a different direction, etc.
As to liking your January cards by November... your style will always be growing/ changing. The cards you do in November may not be your 'style' by next January. Don't fret. Just have FUN playing.
Oh and one more thing, make sure you upload your cards to the gallery. We as artists we are our own worst critics. The comments you'll receive will reassure you.
Good morning everyone! Just popping in to remind all of you to share this link with your friends. If you've done this in the past, you know what a blessing it is to have your cards done by this time. We had over 200 sign up last year. Let's see if we can surpass that number this year.
Oh yes! Please sign me up for 8 cards a month again. 2011 will be my third year and I've enjoyed it so much. A lot less stress come Oct. or Nov. And I do get so much inspiration from the cards posted in the CCC challenge gallery.
I didn't post on time each month this year, but I did get them all posted by the end of November. I don't put too much pressure on myself about getting them all done on time.
Also, now that it's December, I'm very happy with all the cards I made - even the ones I made in January.
And yes, the whole idea behind starting 2011 cards in Jan is so there is NO PRESSURE come Nov.
I went to Dollar General the other day and picked up a lovely photo box with a winter theme. It is all swirled in colors of blue and white (my studio colors) with a beautiful peace dove on the lid. Haven't figured out how I'll display the lid yet but the box is ready for it's place on the shelf to hold all of my cards as I get them done.
Count me in please! I did terribly with the challenge in 2010 and am still making my cards for 2010. I'm hoping this year to do better! Count me in for 10 cards per month!

Welcome to the challenge Bexx! Tips for relative newbies... let's see...
I recommend checking out the gallery here for ideas, where you search "CCC10" or for particular stamp sets you already own and you will see something that makes you say "Hey! I can make that!" I have gotten ideas for a few month's worth of cards that way. I recommend starting simply so you don't get overwhelmed, there are a lot of pretty CAS style holiday cards out there. When you feel more comfortable, step it up a notch. Most of all - just HAVE FUN with it!!
If you end up with extra cards they make great gifts for relatives and friends and there are tons of charitable organizations that will be happy to receive the cards, like Operation Write Home. I love knowing that some of my cards will be used by troops sending cards home to their families. Lots of animal shelters will be happy to collect some to auction off in gift baskets as fundraisers, I am told schools and churches do this too but my personal calling is to help our furry friends.
I would love it if you could sign me up for this challenge too. I love making cards and I seem to rush at the end of the year for my Christmas cards. I am going to be making my cards to donate this year for Christmas to different groups in the area such as the Salvation Army, Women's shelters and hospitals. I love giving gifts and this is one way I can use my talents. Keeps me happy and content.

Got to work early so i could try to get caught up on here... only to be put to work! LOL
That's okay I still got caught up!
Thank you ladies, so happy to have you!
Thank you Kelly for staying on top of things for me, no clue if I can get back again before I get home Friday night
Lisa and Blondena, do you know how many cards you'd like to do per month? Some are finding an even number works best. Others are just going with the number based on what they need by the time November comes around.
I am so excited about this challenge since I didn't have enough cards this year (I had to use some bought box ones...yuck!). I wish I could start them now but I just have too much "Chistmas Work" left to do. Plus I still have a couple of special cards to make for family yet...hopefully buy next Christmas they will be all done!! I will be doing some of my January cards during the Holidays!
