Ian, you can keep the snow. I'm liking my weather here. It's 68 F right now, but it's supposed to get much warmer this afternoon.

What a great, multi-national group we have here!

I saw the snow on the news yesterday and they even showed it on tulips! You didn't let the Weather Channel in, did you, Ina? Just kidding, they were somewhere in western PA.

No. Sorry... didn't mean to confuse you. In my real life I am a writer. I had short story and novel competition deadlines I had to meet. Lost time when the granddaughter was here last month.

I feel the same some days. And I don't have any kids at home. Things are going to be pretty hectic for the next few months. We start plans for our annual community 4th Of July Festival that DH, BIL and I host. This year will be #11. We have live music and bbq and the city park and it's free to everyone. We have a very generous community. A lot of the food is donated to us and what isn't gets purchased with the monetary donations. A lot of businesses give us things to raffle the day of the fest so we have seed money for the next year. You wouldn't believe the donations we get from people at the picnic. We finally had to put cans on the food tables because our pockets couldn't hold the money people "force" on us. It's a lot of work but it's worth every single minute. So anyone want to come to Montana on the 4th of July this year? We'd love to have you. In the past we've had someone from Norway, England, Canada (the border is only 40 miles from me) and a few from different states. Oops, didn't meant to go on and on.

Sounds like a blast!
I've always wanted to visit Montana. But not this year. that holiday weekend is the final days of Adrian's 6-week visit. Mommy, Daddy and baby Abby will be here to take her home.

There's always next year. You can swing by here for a day or two then go on to Glacier Park. I live approx. 150 miles from there. Then you can swing south and go to Yellowstone on your way home.

If you move up here, remember the winters can be very cold. This past winter was the exception. Be sure to let me know if you move up this way.

It seems to be that time of the year when some of us are slowing down on the Christmas Card Challenge. I didn't get my April cards done on time, but they are on the work table about 25% done. At least I have the idea and some of the pieces cut & glued.

Those who have kept up and even stayed ahead of the challenge are making some fantastic cards! Good for you! I'll get there...eventually.

I know what you mean, Val. I have one card for May done. I don't know if I'll have time
until later in the month to do the rest. I agree with you about the fantastic cards. You ladies are very talented.

I should have posted this a week ago and didn't think about it. If you want to take a little break from Christmas cards, Perfect Sentiments is having a Blog Hop this weekend in honor of National Scrapbooking Day. We will be doing cards though, not scrapbooking pages. Each member of the DT will be having their own separate challenge and will be giving away a prize on their blog. If you take part in at least 4 of the challenges, you will be entered to win a grand prize from Perfect Sentiments. Also, if you grab the button off my blog and post it on your blog and then go link up on the Perfect Sentiments blog post, you will also be entered in another special drawing. Lots of ways to win, so I hope you all will stop by, grab the button, and take part in the challenges this weekend. It will be running the whole weekend, starting Friday night through Sunday night.

Got home this afternoon from my visit with my girls. I miss them already, but I do have to admit, it's going to be nice sleeping in my bed tonight. This past week went by so darn fast. I told myself I wasn't going to buy any more paper until I used up what I have. I couldn't stay out of Hobby Lobby and they had a pretty good sale on papers. I bought more Christmas papers. If my youngest DGD hadn't been with me, I probably would have bought a lot more than I did. She kept stealing my shopping cart so had to chase her down. Good thing we were in the paper aisle.

Sounds like a good time with DGD and HL......I say to myself everyday "Self, do not buy any more stamping product until you use what you have" Then low & behold I see something I just have to have.....I'm so addicted

I have been on SCS a long time and just realized this challenge was here! Wow! I already make one card a week and have been doing so since January, so please sign me up for four cards a month, please!! Thank you! I'd like to start in June, if that's okay, unless you want me to go back and share the ones I've already made for May.

Hey Candace! Welcome. I'll get you added to the database this evening or tomorrow. Have the 4yr old granddaughter and not a lot of computer time. But I do need to get everyone closed out for May. I see some have been posting to the June thread. Overachievers LOL Go you!

Also, please PM me your snail mail for the database. Thanks!

I figure I got one day left, right? It's been a rough month and I found it hard to focus. Got some new stuff and would just sit and look at it.

Then last Friday we finally let our 16 and a half year old Lab go to Doggie Heaven. It was sad but now I've been able to get stuff done this week. So I've been plotting my cards and WILL get them made and posted to the May thread tomorrow!

I am so sorry - I know exactly how hard that was for you as I've been there. And I know how sad it is.

Kathy, so sorry about your Lab. I know how devastated I was when we had to let our 2 dogs go 3 years ago.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your Lab. I know what you mean about having new things and just sitting there looking at them. I am continually thinking about cards I would like to make and then can't seem to make it into my craft room.
