My third card for this month, finished with 1/2 the month to go so I might get to do a couple extra's and catch up my previous months!

This is another twisted easel, using retired SU! color Real Rust.

Hi folks,

I have two more cards to add to my May CCC11 list - that brings me up to six done so far. Four more to go for this month!

The two new cards can be found here:

Card 1
Card 2

I posted the other four earlier. I'm now up to 52 cards already made for this coming Christmas! Yay!

I'm a little ahead of my goal, but the months are starting to catch up to me. My cards are done through June. I've been busy with birthday, anniversary and graduation cards. I thought about addressing the envelopes as I go, but you never know when someone might up and move. So I'll wait until later. If I put notes in them now, I'll think of something that needs to be added later. I'm just happy that I have a start on the cards.

Oh yes, VikkiJo, 52 is only about HALF of what I need for everyone who receives Christmas cards from me and my other half. Family, friends, coworkers. I know I did over 100 cards last Christmas and yes, they did all get hand-written messages inside and then addressed or hand-delivered.

Definitely a good idea to get a head start on making them with this challenge.

This year, I am considering whether I should be addressing them ahead of time as well. Writing in and addressing all the "mailouts" in one weekend in late November leads to some pretty sore fingers!

CCC11 Xmas Card Challenge-May 2011 by sodell - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1976304

I sure hope I have done this right! Here is my link to my May Xmas cards! The 10 cards are the same, but with varying BG papers. A big shout out to Nicole at Creations Galore in Green Bay, WI for allowing me to CASE their card and for helping me find all the supplies to make mine. And also for helping me with the Copics--still learning!! The Peachy Keen Stamps are very high quality clear stamps made locally, and I was very pleased with this set. The coloring took alot of time, but the cards are so simple, they went together quickly, once I had them colored and cut out. I hope you enjoy the theme --I thought it would be a fun one, especially with how the last football season turned out! -Stacy

Yay - my May cards are done. I know I only signed up for 5 cards a month, but I did make 10 of these ones. They were so quick and easy using mostly pre-printed cards and 3-d stickers.
Here is the card uploaded to my gallery
and here is the thumbnail showing all 10:

I address my envelopes when I'm ready to file them in my box. I've even been buying the Forever stamps and stamping them as I go. Come Dec. first all I have to do is take the box to the PO and away they go

Kelly, thanks for your comment on my card.

It's a good thing I have my cards through June. I'm having a difficult time making graduation cards and I'm forcing myself to making them before I do any more Christmas cards. I have no idea why graduation cards are so hard for me. Maybe I try too hard. Have to have them done by next weekend.

My set for May is another CAS. I just noticed I used the same color scheme as last month. I really like navy and silver. LOL!CCC11 May Set by klpt58 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

It's a good thing I have my cards through June. I'm having a difficult time making graduation cards and I'm forcing myself to making them before I do any more Christmas cards. I have no idea why graduation cards are so hard for me. Maybe I try too hard. Have to have them done by next weekend.
For graduation and wedding cards, Debbie, I've found the best way to go is simple and elegant.

Pick 1 image, 1 sentiment and pair it with 2 colors - one usually being white or cream. If you can use a CB to dry emboss the white/ cream and mat against a darker color it has that punch effect without the fuss and gives it an elegance.

If you use a ribbon, keep it light weight if possible.

For graduation, try to go with the school colors when possible or black/ white and add a touch of gold (most school color combinations have a gold accent somewhere)

There's my recipe. Hope it helps.

Nice card, Kathy.
The fact that you were still with the Navy/ Silver combination shares a bit of you in your cards. Our cards usually reflect us in some way - even if we don't know we do

Thanks, Kelly. I went through the gallery last night and found a couple very easy but elegant cards I'm going to make. I'm going to start on them right now and refuse to do anything else until they are done......that includes the pile of laundry that needs to be done......that should be a pretty good incentive for getting those cards done.

I finally got my two graduation cards done. I made both of them the same. I'll get it uploaded tomorrow. Now I just have to make a couple birthday cards for June and I can get back to my Christmas cards. Now I can take care of my laundry. Today is a good day for cardmaking. It's gloomy but at least it stopped raining for now.

I need a grad card for this coming weekend and the school colors are green and yellow. Yuck. May do black and white and not worry about trying to use the school colors at all. Wish I had a race car image I would use that. She is into electric car at school, soit would be appropriate for her.

Definitely a good idea to get a head start on making them with this challenge.

This year, I am considering whether I should be addressing them ahead of time as well. Writing in and addressing all the "mailouts" in one weekend in late November leads to some pretty sore fingers!
I am in awe.. all handwritten!

Maybe we should make that part of the challenge? Addressing envelopes?
I took my box and address to bed with me one night and did the address parts while we watched a movie. It was storming so bad the Dish quit so we put in a DVD. and I wrote out all the envies in about 2 hours last year!
