On old laptop, so I haven't clicked any of your links to shoes and boots. Will have to use my imagination. Jane, I always had a mountain cabin too. I'd see things in stores and say, oh that would look fantastic in my mountain cabin. My imaginary one.
Not fond of this keyboard so if I missed any typos, oh well. ha ha
Miss you guys. Will try to check every day or so.

Oh yes, Ziva is beautiful. Glad DH got the TV working so we can watch tomorrow night. Er, unless we're at dinner with neighbors, DH wants to take them out cos they keep an eye on the house. But at least NCIS is on demand when we get home.

Holy cow Karen. That's a lot to go wrong at once.
Glad the desert could help with the carpet drying, though!

Yay!!! Sounds like a great party!!!

Been raining here since Sunday afternoon. Which is fine. It's cool. Back home they are having a heat wave. Hottest temps OF THE YEAR. Yep, the year. We have had an incredibly mild summer.
Couple more days of rain in store, I think. I haven't seen rain since I was in PA. Before that, last spring.
Wow! That's quite an arid summer climate y'all have got going on there!
I have to say other than the booking snafu, United did a great job of getting us to Alaska and back. Everything left on time, arrived early and other than the seats being teeny, everything went well.

Went to the Mad Italian for dinner last night. Best cheese steak hoagies ever. I NEVER get one of those to eat anymore unless I'm in Atlanta.
Kids are good, DS was pretty much taking care of Pippin while DD was at work, she started her part-time job at the haunt and is doing VERY well. Got the "best of the weekend" award Sunday night! Apparently most characters start low and have to work up to that, but her experience at other haunt prompted them to offer her a character right off the bat. And they were slightly concerned but have been very impressed. She also earned two comp tickets for being on time each day! ha ha So she said DH and I can have them when we get back. Nice.
I rented a Fusion on my trip too! I liked it--handled nicely and got really decent mileage. Rented a Fiesta not too long ago and really liked that one too--and it got about 40mpg. I'd seriously look at a Fiesta or Focus if I were in the market for a new car. Top ratings on safety and reliability, fun to drive and about 5-7K under the Fit and Mini, the other two things that have been driving around in my head from time to time.
Hoping Wagony will hold together another few years though. Even if gas hit $5/gal (which I sincerely hope it doesn't) it would still be less than a car payment.

On demand FTW.
I think we should watch it On Demand Saturday night just on principle, LOL!

Sounds like things are going well for you in GA and back at the home front. It's good to hear from you.
Side note on the cars: The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams that use Fords use the Fusion, and the ones that run Toyotas use the Camry. Just sayin'.

Yes the Fusion is very much like the Camry. The ones I checked online were the Camry, Honda Accord and Ford Fusion. Slight differences, similar pricing and everything. There was some little thing that made me choose the Camry, I forget what it was. Maybe the power.... I forget what it was called. Get up and go. But PH, yes, I can see each racing team taking the comparable one for their team.

Yeah I do wonder how much it was Newark. Or specifically United at Newark. They did not communicate what was going wrong very well at all. They were not proactive. When we were finally boarding the commuter flight to home, on a different plane (cos our got stuck somewhere with weather), the guy boarding us took five minutes for the first 3 passengers (I was third) EACH to take the boarding pass. I believe he didn't know to enter the fact that the plane was different and all our seats had to be changed. He was picking up the phone as he was taking care of me - why it took him that long to realize it, is beyond me. After that, it went quickly. To me that was incompetent. Oh yeah United did send me emails every time it changed. Unfortunately I have no smart phone and didn't get them til later. How stupid is that. But at the gate? Nothing.

Except, no cable here (they wanted a two year contract, we only wanted two weeks). We have TV for the basic channels but no On Demand or no USA or anything. No NCIS reruns.
V, have any insider knowledge about the next Vera Bradley sale? I need to get DD a lunch bag for Christmas, but don't want to pay $34 for it. I'd like a super sale like you always get on your purses.

They send me emails every day about some sale or other. plus I google vera bradley coupon codes and usually find something on retailmenot.com. but other than that I'm not sure
BB how are thnigs? How's everyone health wise, still little sickies?
Things are going ok.
Bbaby is still not 100%. Poor little thing.
DD's back injury has improved a lot. She got her boot off of her foot on a Saturday and hurt her back immediately afterward. I'm probably going to kill her soon!
How about you guys and your 100 degree weather?

A friend of mine asked what it would take for me to come out of office manager retirement. He's looking at opening up an after hours/urgent care clinic in my town and wants local trustworthy people to help him get it up and running.
I'd probably work a couple of evenings during the hours of operation and spend the rest of my time working days.
I'll know more as the project becomes more complete, but it sounds like an opportunity I can't pass up given how badly we need more money in our checking account. Our medical bills have us drowning and we've already been told that we'll be paying more next year for our benefits.

Sounds like lots of changes happening. I bet you'll really enjoy getting back out there. Best of luck with that all happening the best way for you and your family.

Aw, that kind of makes me sad. If the meat wasn't bad, I wish he could have been allowed to keep it and feed his family. I hate to think the deer died for nothing.
