Whoa, quiet night here!

DH and I went to Chili's for dinner. It was busy and so, slow, but at least everything was hot and didn't come all at once.

DH has been watching all the Harry Potter movies, we read the first four (he and I) but not the rest. Anyway, they are complete. I enjoyed them.

And I'm so tired, now I'm going to bed. I cleared off the guest bed - just in case.

Well also with the wind chill it was about 17F... it was mid 30s but frigid blustering gusts felt pretty intensely chilling. My eyes were watering before we even went a block. Not even the dogs seemed to want to go any further. When we hit the corner where we can go for 2 miles or head home, they pulled hard towards home and I wasn't much inclined to coax them the other way.

Reminds me of all the folks in Congress who think health care reform is a terrible, dangerous idea while they have the best plan in the country. Nice.

I was up at 3 with DH "just in case my alarm goes off can you set yours too?" Grr. Dozed fitfully after that. Kids back at school! I'm baking and prepping stuff for DS1s after school Odyssey of the Mind today. Library, pet shop for fish food, Target for new undies for DS2 and me. Those 3 places are very close to each other. Then some food shopping and in to school to volunteer. Although as it's the first day back I may leave it. The kids would be too excited and need to get back to their routine.

There are really tons of people on Google Plus; it's just not friends posting what they're doing today.

I do have one friend who really needs to find twitter. When she's watching "her" football team (or any team, really), my feed has running comments on the game as her status update. *rolls eyes*

Google Plus seems to have a lot of thoughtful people posting about current events or technology or .... well, you just have to find them. I clicked on "what's hot" once and it was amazing.

Why yes, yes it is! I went through all the boxes and have recycled quite a bit. I tend to hoard them as the holidays approach and then afterward get rid of a lot of them.

I didn't need it last night but I didn't sleep well either.

Olympic fencer and movie sword master Bob Anderson appeared in some of film's most famous dueling scenes though few viewers knew it.

Anderson, who has died at age 89, donned Darth Vader's black helmet and fought light saber battles in two of the three original "Star Wars" films, "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi."

Anderson, who worked with actors from Errol Flynn toAntonio Banderas during five decades as a sword master, fight director and stunt performer, died early New Year's Day at an English hospital, the British Academy of Fencing said Monday.

The sun is starting to come through.

My sister said she left late for work, as the weather had been bad overnight and the state said it didn't get out soon enough to clear things. This is her last week of 90 minute commute. I was glad she emailed me when she got to work safely.

We had a dusting of snow yesterday and school was delayed an hour today because of icy road conditions in some parts of the county. DH made it to work safely.

I too like it when you can use wrapping paper for multiple occasions. Last summer I needed something for a baby shower gift, so I picked a pastel stripe that's suitable for birthdays too.

Before Christmas in the Target dollar spot we found little rolls of wrapping paper, maybe 16 or 18 inches long. I bought several. They're a lot nicer for wrapping small gifts than wrestling with a "normal" sized roll.

You make it seem like a bad thing that I still haven't quite finished using a few rolls of wrapping paper I bought after Christmas about 10 years ago! LOL

(the 10 year estimate is not an exaggeration)

Is your project on your blog yet?

Speaking from my experience, it does get easier with time. Unless you're stuck with an image or a sketch or something that you just can't get into - then it can make you feel pressured to create, which isn't as fun.

Ok, I need to scoot. I'm picking up ODS from school so we can go to the instrument store and check out a new clarinet for him. Not looking forward to going out in 28-ish degree weather (not counting wind chill) but a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do.

LOL! Well, I have 4 rolls that are extra long, and so have to fit in the under bed thing, and even then slanted, and barely fit. So I used only them this year and still have four rolls....... then there is the stand up container I got last year on sale and stuffed with sale paper... (but the extra long rolls don't fit in it). So I think I have probably enough for ten years now myself. LOL!!!!

Not a bad thing but I would love to use up the extra long rolls. I have a box of gift bags separated because they don't fit in the under-bed container with those stupid extra-long rolls.

No....I had to post it as draft, "early for review" on the CC blog. It'll go live on Sunday 1/8. My day is always Sunday, but they want them at least 4 days early.

The biggest issue for me was working with the digi stamps. Was giving me fits.

I'm still using up "sale" wrapping paper from before I moved (4.5 years ago). Refuse to buy more till it is gone.

Of course as kids get older, their presents typically get smaller in size & fewer in number.

I need a certified copy of my divorce decree for the pension people (because of right of spouse survivorship payments, etc).

Have been on hold with the county clerks office for about 15 minutes.

Target run complete. I got a large bucket on sale, that was on my list. Didn't even look at anything else clearance.

Got a few groceries and other things.

Then some food shopping and in to school to volunteer. Although as it's the first day back I may leave it. The kids would be too excited and need to get back to their routine.
