LOL. Yeah, that guy's name makes me giggle. I wonder if his parents thought that out when they named him.

It's a bit like a guy I met in college (didn't know him too well but dated his roommate for a little while). His last name was Board and his parents named him William, but he went by Bill. He had personalized license plates for his car: RD SIGN.

Well, considering they are averaging speeds of around 210 mph, it doesn't take as long to go 500 miles as it sounds like it should.

I'm not sure I'm following you on "the last big one". Because you mentioned the delay, I'm guessing you mean the Daytona 500. But usually in racing when someone says "the big one" they are talking about a major crash.

I'm sitting here getting all the last bits of fundraiser stuff finished. I got my PC order in and just finished up the Scentsy stuff. I also filled out my medical release form for the walk. 41 more days!

Yes I'm only aware of the big races, the Daytona was the one that went into the night?

so funny! ANd actually makes a lot of sense. DH uses his phone for work at his desk and this would be helpful

Holy cow. Georgia Tech BARELY made it into the ACC Baseball Tournament, like made it on the last day of the season, as the no. 8 seed.

They just WON it. Beat Miami. First no. 8 seed to win the tournament! Now they'll get to the College World Series!!!

Hey Char, did you see the new WW contest? It's an activity contest. You have online access, right? Isn't that what you did?

I just registered for it. Maybe forcing me to track the activity will help. I need it, I had started last week again and then got the toothache.

So wish I could. My parents and I are trying to plan an activity where we can all be together tomorrow without sweating our proverbial balls off. Well, not so proverbial in my dad's case, but for the rest of us ladies, VERY proverbial.

I'll check it out. Being out of school is killing my points. I apparently snack constantly. I can't wait until next week when Bella goes onto daytime gymnastics and we are on a schedule.

Having all of this free time isn't conducive to good weight watcher.

Yeah I hear ya. I have a good five to lose, and obviously am not going to lose it by May 31st, so I'll just pay for this month and get to work.

I just could not stay focused this month on anything. Didn't work out much, didn't watch my eating well enough, I mean I stayed the same but needed to lose the easter candy, didn't stamp......

Things were just too stressed and unsettled. I feel better now. Sad, but more peaceful.

Wrose, I know you're rarely on FB so I'll go ahead and tell you that I contaminated my eyelids with poison ivy oil. So I'm gonna be kvetching a lot about my eyelids in the next couple of weeks and I wanted you to understand why.

Oh, and E thinks it's karma because she still has to work but she's wrong. She's just jealous that I have time to garden. Of course, now I have the time but not agreeable weather.

Yes - this year's Daytona 500 was delayed from Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon, then postponed again to Monday night, all due to rain. Then when Juan Pablo Montoya ran into the jet dryer and caused the big fiery explosion, the race was red-flagged for about two hours for the cleanup efforts.

Of course, since the Daytona 500 and Indianapolis 500 are two different racing leagues, talking about them in the same train of thought is kind of like talking about apples and oranges in the same sentence.

Whoohoo! Glad to be of service! I made 6 cards this morning, all but one of them was CASEd, although I used different colours and papers etc. They'll be going on my blog when the camera batteries are charged. Or... I could use the spares I've just remembered about. Doh!

Cool glasses! I don't think I've ever known a dog so good at accessorising. Cats on the other hand - did you see my Caturday post yesterday? And talking of accessorising, Cobweb has just this second walked through the door with something large and unidentified hanging from her rather excessive whiskers. Going to investigate...

.... it was a dried-out flower. Looks like a viola of some description

Yup. High fever(almost 105), fussy and lethargic. Throats were swollen and red with the white spots. CLassic case. I knew it before I even took them in.

Ew, sorry to hear that. Just googled strep throat because it seems common over there but I've never heard of anyone having it here. Wondered if it was some sort of US-only bug. Turns out we just call it something different; tonsillitis. Used to get it a lot as a child, it's horrible

Or maybe it isn't (tonsillitis) - just found another page which doesn't mention it: http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/strepto...roduction.aspx

That's the trouble with the internet; find two pages and you get two completely different theories

Or maybe it isn't (tonsillitis) - just found another page which doesn't mention it: Streptococcal Infections - NHS Choices

That's the trouble with the internet; find two pages and you get two completely different theories

Here in the states tonsillitis is completely different from strep. Tonsillitis is a generic bacterial infection whereas strep is a specific one. Streptococcus

You can develop scarlet fever from strep but not tonsillitis.

In addition strep can affect your heart.

Oh, and E thinks it's karma because she still has to work but she's wrong. She's just jealous that I have time to garden. Of course, now I have the time but not agreeable weather.
Oh no, Char!!! And thank you, you're right, I'd have missed it. My goodness, so what do you have to do with them? Sounds awful!!!

Please, kvetch all you want!

Had to google since in my experience, a viola is a large violin! Pretty flower!

Tonsillitis would be something different(at least here it would be). Strep throat isn't anything exciting...just basically a bacterial throat infection. If accompanied by a rash it is Scarlet Fever and if left untreated it can cause a myriad of problems.
