ok so you can basically wear the same thing flying in and out
a night dark easy dress for around that can be dressed up with big jewelry for a dinner
the event outfit
event shoes
wear flip flops most often and on the plane
I'd go so far as to buy CHEAP ked like shoes and toss them before you come home
IN your personal bag go big, a tote, makeup, meds, capris, shirt, wear a jacket to the plane so it doesnt' need packing
So then you'd still need 7 undies a few bras 2 or 3 shorts 2 or 3 pants and 6 shirts? You could do a carry one.
Purse counts as a personal item, but I'm going to take the biggest allowable personal item and put my purse in it. I'n just taking DD's little Coach crossbody purse.
I have to buy clothes because I don't have any that fit. My budget is super tight. I need a swimsuit and bottoms. I can prob make my shirts work or buy cheap target tanks.
If I go w decent leather flip flops I could double them for beach and the wedding. I'm just getting a thin flirty sun dress for the wedding as it is in the beach.
I'm just wondering if I am going to get too hot and sweaty to wear clothes twice. KWIM? If I thought I could get away with wearing the same shorts two times, I'd be golden on the carryon.

Yeah that piece of luggage I got at Costco was just over $100. I was shocked til I compared with the other boxes. I kept it still tagged until I checked the racks at Target. I decided I will keep the Costco one, it was comparably priced. I have a purse which I might put in a larger bag, plus I have an awesome medium bag, great for the personal items I don't want to be separated from.

If it's just you and DH (where are you going???), I'd say stick with the carryon and "purse" (I've seen lots of purses that are as big as suitcases! but they still have to fit under the seat). If the whole family is going, check one or two suitcases and enjoy traveling as unencumbered as a family with small children can!
What size are you wearing? I have an unworn 1X tankini, pink, that I got cheap from clearance year before last if you want it.
For a one week trip (the hardest length trip as far as I'm concerned...) in warm weather I either try not to sweat or do laundry once. This is my typical packlist:
- long gauze button-down shirt that doubles as a coverup and bathrobe, or can be used as an overshirt with a camisole
- two capris, one skirt
- three to five tops (do laundry once)
- three sets of underwear (wash in sink and hang to dry)
- sandals and walking shoes
- light cardigan
- two scarves to change look of tops worn twice
- minimal health and beauty supplies - I use the hotel shampoo/conditioner figuring that in a week my hair can't deteriorate to a frizzy mass too quickly. Beauty routine similarly minimized - it's a vacation!
HTH!

Oh, and don't put anything in your larger bag that you absolutely need right away (or during flight) - I've seen many flights where several (usually late-arriving) people had to check (presumably without fee) their larger bag at the last minute because there wasn't room...

This morning she meowed and meowed. I thought she wanted to be petted so I picked her up and scratched her sweet fuzzy little ears. She kept meowing.
And then
she pooped right in the middle of my comforter.
Sigh.
I guess we need to work on our communication skills. Well, she doesn't... I just need to learn to read that cue. Sigh. YAY poop on the bed at 5:30am!!!! Whee!!!
LOL, yeah, we've determined that meowing and meowing and meowing means "CLEAN MY LITTERBOX YOU IDIOTS!". Can only guess what Sonny did next. Bet it made cleanup easier, though

It's not just that. If you got there way ahead and are just by luck seated in an area that gets boarded toward the end (I know there's a lot of variety there) and everyone in front of you had a carry-on, you're screwed. But people have told me they didn't get charged for that? I'll give it some thought as I prepare and pack.

Hey sometimes I suggest that out here! It's rare - most of our dining out is ethnic food. Stuff that if I attempt to cook it, it's okay but just not quite as good......

On my way home today from a not so great day (the kids are so off the walls right now), I was in a bit of a funk. Then I passed McDonald's and saw some poor guy scrubbing out the outside trashcan. It's all about perspective. At least I don't have to scrub stinky things in the hot sun.

She cracked up.
I swear, it just came out. I've picked it up from you.
See? You changed my life, LOL!
Oh I really really really love this.

Oh my, Craig doesn't actually bleep, they insert a small picture of a flag of some sort over the offender's mouth if it was showing, rather than pixelating - Craig always jokes about trying to cover his mouth when he curses because pixelating is so expensive.... Then instead of a bleep, you'll hear "Crikey!" or "What's a come and a go!"
But there were some silent parts too.

I was thinking $25 for me, but I hadn't checked sites recently. Ugh.

I really used to enjoy flying. They do cram people in more, now, and give you less treats and people weigh more and ... ugh.

One thing that struck me so profoundly when I met all of you was just how much love you all share. You could tell he found it frustrating sometimes not to be able to get up, but there is something so accepting in him--that he has love, and he's with you all, and that just makes him so happy. His eyes just light up when you come into the room, and when you sit down with him, all of you, but you most of all, Wrose.
And for all of you to take on so much to take care of him, and keep him comfortable, warm, clean and so very well cared for was a lovely thing to see. He's a big dog and that is not a small effort.
I just saw so much grace and love there, between all of you. I guess to me, that felt like a gift you all gave every day--Phantom to all of you, and all of you to him. That is one thing that has stayed with me so strongly from the trip.
Whatever decision you all face, I know how much love and caring lies behind it. I could not feel more certain that Phantom knows, too.
Thanks. I have kind of gathered that it's very difficult to know the right time or the best time to do these things and it's just best if at least everyone knows it's not going to ever get better and it's getting worse.
