Linda is having surgery at 8 a.m. After her hysterectomy in May, or June? It was after Kathy's surgery, right? Gosh, I forgot the details. Anyway, some cancerous lymph nodes were left in. They weren't near the uterus/ovaries, so didn't get found in surgery. That means cancer had metastasized (spread). The dr. thought chemo would shrink those & radiation would get rid of anything left. Since she just finished chemo, they thought she'd start radation ASAP. Well, with this infection (her counts were so high she was septic), they HAVE to take the nodes out as they are "inflamed." That's all I know about it at this point.

Her hubby is beside himself with worry. DD is very worried about her mom, too.

Meanwhile, my pee-pee test results came back, but I wasn't home & left my cell phone here accidentally. The message said, "We did find something in your lab work," to which Kathy, when I told her, said, "DUH!" LOL! "and want you to start on some medication IMMEDIATELY. It was too late to call back when I got home so will call in the morning. I've been having some pains tonight, so hoping they stay small. I'm such a dork, I've already been thinking if it's a stone & I need to go to the ER, "Linda is in North Central Baptist Hospital. The dr. told me to go to NorthEAST Baptist, but we've ALWAYS gone to NC Baptist. If I go to NC Baptist, friends can just visit us both in one trip." Now how dorky is that to plan a trip to the ER, just in case. And, if she's getting visitors, you see how selfish I am & want to get them, too!

Good morning, Dorkies!

Whew! Lori was the last one to post so my day will go smoothly now.

Lori, wow! Too bad that cancer wasn't found the first time.

Laurie, how's Cheyenne doing today? Did you get the ear infection under control?

Today at work we have the haunted house. It seems like it would be fun, but I have worked her for 11 years. Each year we have the haunted house and each year I have to escort the residents through the HH. It gets old very fast. Then tonight, for the first time, we are coming as a family so the boys can go through. Hopefully that will be more exciting because it is with my kids.

I have a big zit between my eyes and various other spots. why at 37 am I still getting zits AND starting to get age spots? Unreal!!!

Morning girls.

Uh, I still get zits too and it's embarrassing (sp). Couple of long days in store for me so won't be online much.

Heard an EF2 hit Peotone yesterday. Yikes! Hope it's not too close to PS.

Need to get ready for work.

Karen enjoy your trip to the Bahamas and Tahiti in search of the missing mojo... Are you bringing members of the DSS with you??

Grace, I have to! I have to protect my identity. What if someone tries to figure out my middle name? Oh goodness, oh goodness, that would be a catastrophe!

Morning ladies!

My middle name is Ann.
My oldest daughter's middle name is Gail...Caitlyn Gail. I love it, she's not so crazy about it. But my mom (who did not get to have the choice of naming me because she did not give birth to me) once told me that if she had a girl, she had planned to name her Wendy Gail. So I used the second name for our first child.
Erin's middle name is Jean, also love that.

I have no zits, but lots of age spots, especially on my hands...which is better than my face! But I have lots of peach fuzz on my face which I don't notice until at the makeup counter trying on concealer...yikes!! No moustache yet...something to look forward to!!

And I am sad because last night my dear Father in law, the surgeon, had his foot removed. I keep thinking of the saying, if God takes something away, it is to give you something better (more valuable.) Praying that is the case. We will go to see him this weekend. Actually husband will see him today, but has to go from work.

Lori, thank you for the update on Linda, I am praying for her! And you had better take care of yourself and no trips to the ER or hospital stays for you!!

Karen, I too have some ugly zits. One is near my lower lip. I know it's not a cold sore. I feel like a teeny bopper in high school. It's mother nature messing with me. I've been extremely cranky and now my face broke out and I want to eat tons of stuff that is bad for me. Thankfully I am too lazy to go get the food! YEAH! All this in time to meet a new client this morning at 10am...looking like a pizza face. UGH!

Are all of you getting these high winds that Laurie mentioned? Sounds scary! Move to San Antonio! LOL!

I have a lot of zits. Though, I'm thinking they are really some other skin reaction as they are different from what a teenager would get. I've also noticed my skin clears up a lot when I'm on antibiotics. Weird!

Speaking of antibiotics, you'll love the efficiency of the clinic where we have to go. The "news" the nurse had was "You have an infection." Really? Gee, what a surprise! LOL! It gets better. "We need you to start on Cipro right away." Um, I did that last Friday. "You need a follow-up appointment in 10 days. Is morning or evening better." Afternoon. "I have a 10:15." Um, okay, that will work. "Are you finished with your antibiotic?" Um, no, I just started it Friday.

This is the company my husband works for! The doctors are good doctors, the nurses are good nurses. The doctors & nurses just aren't good at the business end of stuff.

Just talked to Danette (she is the NON-cancer friend who is part of our "4-some on this side of town) & she said she talked to Linda's dh & Linda's platelets were low so she is NOT having surgery, but is getting platelets & will have surgery tomorrow. Also, she did not sleep well. She sounded like she was about to fall asleep when I talked to her last night, but sadly she didn't sleep well. Some people from a Christian Healing Center here in town, where she has gone, are scheduled to come see her & pray with her today, so that should make her feel better. Her own pastor, well, hers retired & there is no full-time pastor, just an interim, I think, so not someone she is familiar with. Anyway, I need to go send out an e-mail for her. Y'all get to pray first!

Hugs!

Maybe everyone's mojo blew away with all the high winds. i try to trap it if it comes this way. We had a lot of rain and wind this morning and the weather people said it was a remnant of the midwest's, but def not as bad as it.

DS has had two yellow days in a row! Argh!!!! he already lost his computer/tv time for a week and DH are going to discuss another punishment. He usually spends the night at my IL's on wed nite but not tonight. DH was out of town until today.

Going to try to get a little nap now. HOpe I can wake up in time to pick DS up from school.

Hmmm, Wendy, I have used that phrase many times. Unfortunately, my dry sarcasm is lost on them.

Sorry about DS. That's frustrating!

Lori, you could have come to me and I could've told you that you were sick. I would have charged you a lot less too (maybe a skein or two of yarn!)

Laurie, then they can honestly say, "You look good enough to eat!!" Bad joke...

Wendy, hi!! Miss ya lately, hope you get a good nap in today!!

Lori, thanks for the update. I just got a phone call about the mammogram..."Your mammogram results came back benign." Ok, one question, "What does benign mean?" dorky me...she was laughing at me. Why can't they just say, you are fine, see ya in a year!!

Peggysue, I saw on your blog that they want more pictures...just want you to know, sweetie, that they usually do that with me too...any cyst or anything different and they want you back. Mine have been identified over the years, so they know they're there. I will pray, though.

And big hugs to all my dorky friends, today!

Lori, the dr's will see you tomorrow afternoon at 10:30, and start you on the cipro that you're already taking, and by the way, you're not feeling too well! Did I get that right?? Oh my, I am laughing...

Karen & Traci, I think I should pay you our insurance premiums. The good thing is we don't pay when we go to our clinic, just our premiums, b/c of being an employee. The trade off is they make all of us look NON dorky.

Traci, I think that was a rather benign question to ask the nurse. LOL!

Chey----okay, I really did just type that when I meant to say, Laurie, I'm glad Chey is getting better. I suppose I wanted to address the dog directly. The dog typerer. Like whisperer.

And, Laurie, I just want you to know your dog has an ear infection & you need to start treating it now. Are you finished with that treatment now? LOL!

Wendy, remember, you ARE that mom. ha, ha!

Okay, gals the reason I came back on now (I forgot for a minute why I was here) is to give you a NEW update.

Linda's surgery is TODAY at 4. I guess the platelets worked. Talk about a roller coaster ride. I'm the contact person for e-mail. Danette takes calls & gets the info, tells me & I send it out. she is constantly on the go, so can talk on her cell, but can't get to a computer & is more of a phone gal than computer gal. Anyway, let's pray for Linda's surgery TODAY at 4. Unless they change their minds again.

I still get zits too. I hear we're supposed to be happy that we're still young enough to do so . . .but I also have age spots. Why do I have both???

Yes, they took more pictures and the radiologist likes them so much he wants more in a few months. But for right now, we're fine. I was wondering though when they called, uh oh, what's up now?

Traci, I am sorry to hear your FIL had to have his foot removed. Wow, I can't imagine. He'll be in the hospital for a while, right?

Lori, i think you have an infection. And these afternoon/morning timeframes are just too confusing, why not come at midnight? Will that be quite convenient?

Okay, in prayer for all these concerns. I need to go look at Karen's yarn on her blog. Is it squishable? Its no fun if it isn't squishable.

My daughter is on yellow so often one week I didn't even ground her or anything, I got tired of handing out consequences. This week we're back to handing out consequences for any color other than green but I'm running out of ideas . . . no TV, no computer, no friends to play with, writing lines . . .you name it. Pick up dog poop . . . that's always a good one. The idea is to come up with one that causes a change in behavior and I haven't hit on that one yet.

Wind, wind, go away!
Wind wind, stop it I say!!
You've come swooping in like you own the place,All proud and haughty, a smug little face.
But your welcome you have overstayed!
So out the door you go, far far away!
The moon, I hear, Is a nice place to stay

(A little dittie to go along with the incessant whine outside...or howl...)...trying to stamp, need some better background noise!

Peggysue, thank you for the kind words for my father in law...I don't know yet how he is taking it, I really think it will be traumatic...can't imagine myself and just feeling pain for him right now. But he is strong, and in good mental health, and since he is a surgeon, maybe he will be better off with that right now. Knowing him, he will try to have everyone over for Christmas dinner to prove he can do it!!

Traci, I missed the fact that they did do the surgery for your FIL. Can you share the info again? When did they do it? Linda B might have some insight as her dad is an amputee.

PS, what pictures do you have to have retaken by the radiologist? The (*)(*) ones or other regions of yonderland?

Linda should be in pre-op now. I'm appreciating the thought of heaven a bit more each day!

The radiologist seems to have a fondness for the right {*} . . . notice mine have wrinkles . . . LOL!!

Traci, nice little ditty.

I think I'll join you in stamping. I've had an idea for a card now for a few days and if I don't do something about it, it will be lost.

The surgery was supposed to be today, and they went ahead and did it last night at 5:00 p.m. Thank you for praying, too! I know Linda is a source of comfort with this as her Dad has been through it!! Just so upsetting to me.

Oh, Traci, I forgot to mention about FIL. I am glad it is only a foot they are taking and not a whole leg.

PS, I would image the yarn is very squishable. It has angora in it. I read a review on it and the review was very good. For the review it states that the yarn needs to be handled a bit for the angora-ness of it to come out. I think I am going to make a sweater for my Mom.

What!?! {*}!!! I have saggy ones, now I have wrinkles to look forward to? What sick joke is God playing on us??? First zits and age spots, a monthly cycle and now saggy boobs. Geesh! As it is I feel my fat hanging down further than it used to.

Oh, I forgot to mention that we went, as a family, to the haunted house. DS1 was still scared, but he held it together.

Daycare had DS3 picked up for a "fever". UGH! DH took this one. You know how kids will spike a fever for a few seconds to a minute and then go away and show no other signs of being sick? Yep! That is what it was. Funny, last month she did the same thing...both days were early release days for the schools. I am sure it is a coincidence, but still. Anyway, rant over. Back to your regular scheduled dorkdom.

Unreal!!!
Oh, the HH sounds fun w/ your boys but I can totally see how it could get very old and b-o-r-i-n-g visit after visit!

I get zits all the time too. I'm 45. Stinks! I finally switched to Proactive skincare about 8 months ago and it has helped..but I still get zits! I used Mary Kay for years...like all thorugh high school/college/young adult. Then switched to some stuff one of my daycare mom's sold and I really liked it but it seems my skin gets used to one type of cleanser and something that it doesn't work. I think now it's due to hormonal changes as I'm aging.

Love your dd's names...so pretty.

Peach fuzz....LOL...I get some of that along side my face by my ears. Then I get these wild and crazy hairs on my chin that I have to pluck out.....an occassional wart on my nose and I'm set for Halloween! LOL! JK about the wart on the nose.....

Lori, thank you for the update on Linda, I am praying for her! And you had better take care of yourself and no trips to the ER or hospital stays for you!!
Oh, goodness! I'm so sorry to hear that. I new it could happen but am sorry to hear that it actually did. Praying for him and for your hubby...for you, too. For safe travels and all.

Lori, forgot to say that I'm praying for your two favorite not so well girls there too. Hugs and prayers to them and for you.

Yeah, those winds are crazy. Especially after pizza! LOL! Okay, dork humor and I couldn't resist.

We had 6 tornados touch down in Indiana. Crazy. I'm not surprised you got some winds your way, Wendy...or should that be Windy! Hehehe.

Yup, my ds game home with a yellow today, too. Goofing around with his pencil and it bonked on the floor. I'm sure he was warned but didn't listen. Ugh...boys! Our ds has been grounded for 2 nights after homework...to his room till daddy gets home. Just not listening, being distructive, sassy mouthed.....ugh. Parenting is HARD sometimes!

*giggle*giggle* yup, bad joke.

Glad your results came back fine...and say on PS's blog the same thing. Glad all our boobies are fine!!! I've had to go back several times for more pics too......glad they are thorough I guess, but such a pain.
