Were working on firewood still. Sunday our chainsaw stopped working so we only had Dad's saw running what a day it turned into you know when one thing goes wrong then everything does. Snort Dad and I did get one load cut though! Dh was able to fix our saw thank goodness!! Saved us some money!! Hooray since I was bad and bought myself an early birthday gift We also had to spend part of Sunday fixing fence a tree this summer fell on the fence and broke the top strand then when we were cutting we accidentally dropped another one on it of course it broke all 3 strands. Yep that's how the hole day was lol Ok gotta run working on firewood again today.
Hope all of you have a great day

Oh Wendy, another unexpected purchase? Or was this all an evil plot on your part to get an entire set of new appliances? You're doing your part personally to support the economy and we all thank you!!!
Yeah, another unexpected purchase. The washer was only 5 or 6 years old so it should've lasted a few more years. We are supposed to get the new ones tomorrow, but it might not be until Friday as we added a stacking bracket to the order and that won't be able to come until Friday. Guess I'll be at my IL's doing laundry again this week! I did 7 loads on Saturday.
Tracy, is your Dad's surgery today then or tomorrow? I saw you made it there but wasn't sure if you had to have him at the hospital this morning or tomorrow? Either way praying for all of you.
It just blows my mind Traci that you have to worry about snow tires in October, but considering the landscape you traverse to go over the river or rather over the mountain and through the woods to your parent's home, its understandable. Glad you're there safely.
Robyn, we'll look forward to the pics from your fashion show!
I used to like cherry cobbler . . Lori if you stop mountain climbing long enough on all those different continents, maybe you can tell me if there is a GF version.
Got a writing assignment done this morning, will bill it at the end of the month and this is a customer who always pays quickly, so no waiting this time for my check!
Leona, how are things?
Holly, of course all three strands broke on the fence, I think I saw a report that Murphy was in your state today.
Karen's advice is very good. I would also recommend LionsBrand.com. I find a lot of my patterns there. They rate them for difficulty and tell you what yarn they used.
It was awhile since I had done any crocheting and all of Karen's talk of knitting and her pics set me off in a good way. In the last couple of weeks I have crocheted sweater coat, a shell, a shawl, and learned to knit. I knitted a cowl neck warmer, fingerless gloves, and am working on a sweater using circular needles,
I found a yarn shop 30 minutes away which issue so friendly and helpful with all my questions. In fact, tomorrow night I will be in a fashion show with other custofmers. We will be showing off what we have made. I'll post pics after the show.
Robyn O
ROBYN! You are so talented! So, have you thought of selling any goods to make some money? Can you get hired at the yarn shop? Can you show us your work? Cool on modeling!

It blows my mind that anyone ever needs snow tires. If it snows or ices here, we just stay home. We have like one sanding truck in the city! Seriously!
That's so funny that you just said that about GF cobbler. Nope, haven't gf'd it yet. Do you have a good gluten recipe? I can try to gf it. You know "to gluten free" is a verb, right?
Laurie, how's our puppy today? Been thinking about you & Chey. I told you my friend Mary in Houston has a Cheyenne dog, right?
Kathy's 14 year old poodle died over the weekend. Waaaahhhh. I loved Molly Marie. She'd been sickish off & on, but seemed to be doing well, then gorged herself on the big dog's food & they think that did her in. Kathy even tried to give her mouth to nose resussitation (no clue how to spell that).
Grace, hi!
Holly, glad to see you pop in.
And hugs to "God bless what's his name" (everyone I missed). Love you gals!
Such a dork. I have all these pages open to copy & paste challenges onto a word doc. I thought I was in the Shabby Tea Room & saw PS's picture. I thought, "I didn't know she was on this team, too. She never told us!" Then I realized I was on Stampin' Sisters in Christ.
Funny Bethany dork quotes lately. In response to me saying Natalie was doing something goofy & B. trying to say Natalie was like me she said, "The apple doesn't fall from the tree." Then, when discussing going to see Dora on stage as little kids, she was thinking Boots the monkey's costume didn't look too real, but she got the characters confused, "Dora looked more like a man than a monkey." She keeps us laughing.
My cookbooks are packed away, but I googled and came up with a blueberry cobbler recipe. I noticed that King Arthur Flour has come out with a GF baking mix or GF flour mixture and once we move {if we ever move} I intend to order some. But here is the recipe link:
I made dinner on my new stove. We had piccata style tilapia with angel pasta and peas. I sauteed some fresh green beans, but they ended up burning. The burners work really well so I don't need to heat them up so much. I made some banana bread tonight and was going to wait until morning to have a piece, but it smells so good.
I definately have a cold! Uck! My neck and shoulder were tight yesterday and it won't go away so I took some ibuprofen. Then last night and today I had to take some allergy medication for sneezing- was thinking it was most likely all the dust. And then this afternoon my head hurt and my shoulder and neck were hurting. And the achiness. So I took some tylenol cold stuff. Hopefully it works. I'll use the netty pot before bed.
We get our new washer & dryer tomorrow. Yeah! The stacking bracket won't be in until Friday so DH will have to do that later. I think he is going to call a plumber to move the water line anyway so we can put in on another wall. At least I will still get to use it.
Looking forward to having dinner with my cousin and her DH on Friday night. We are meeting in New Hampshire since they live in Maine.
Joyce- How is your DD's friend doing that was in the motorcycle accident?
Traci- Hope things go well with your parents and hope you won't need run into any snow!
Holly-Hope you were able to get all the wood cut. If only most people had your work ethic, we would all be better off. You are amazing!
Grace- Hope you can continue to get some rest.
Beth- How was school? Are your kids enjoying school as well?
Karen- Hope all of your sons and your dog stay healthy! It is super challenging this time of year isn't it?
Laurie- How is Chey?
Lori- Are you going to make the same things for each craft fair?
Both Lindas- Hi!
Leaona- Why does Calgon take us away but then bring us back!?! Sending you hugs!
PS- DH got fall break in grad school which we first wondered why, but after the first year, we realized he needed it to do all his work! I never got it in school.
I'm sure I forgot someone, but I did my best! So, "hello" to those!
Okay, I can't resist my banana bread. Going to get a slice, slather it with butter, and watch Biggest Loser on my DVR. DH is a meeting tongiht.
Just finished my first batch of cookies in the "new" oven. Found out with the first batch in that the temp from the chip package was too high, almost burnt the bottoms so lowered it 25 degrees and fortunately they came out perfect in the next 3 trays. Yay!!!!
Enjoying the radio, dh is sleeping. Now I may relax even more with a cup of herb tea and a good book. Anyone wanna join in my tea party... you can even have the magically gluten free chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven!
TTYL, I'll try to get caught up with everyone this weekend.

Traci, glad you made it to your mama and papa's with the jeep w/ snow tires. That makes you feel better, doesn't it? The tires that is. Hope all goes well.
Holly, all your chopping wood makes me tired! How much wood could a Hollydoodle chop if a Hollydoodle could chop wood. Oh, wait..she already does chop wood! LOL!
O, Robyn, O!! That sounds so fun. Yeah, pics would be lovely to see.
Karen, how are the sickies in your family? I hope better today.
Wendy, how fun to have new appliances...but stinko on the wallet! Ouch!!
<-----is envying Wendy and her new fridge. Love the style you got. I hate my side by side. The freezer is way to small and skinny. You can't even fit a 12 inch pizza in there or a 9x13 casserole very easily. Next time...I'm getting one like yours!!!
Made 25 tile coasters tonight..well, finished them off. My neighbor and long time friend plays the harp at weddings and special events. She's doing a show/booth at a florist who is also including a cake person, etc., for a bridal open house at the florist shop. Each vendor has to have 25 goodies to give away at their booth. So my friend had me make wedding type coasters, sort of generic, and will put those in a nice mesh bag with both our business cards. Sweet, eh? I gave her a good deal cuz it is free advertizing. It paid for all my tiles and a bit for the work. I also made a sample to put at my booth with our monograms and wedding date. Thought it might be a great idea for a bride as bridal favors, or for someone to give (with their bride and grooms personal info, of coarse) w/ a set of wine glasses and a bottle of wine. Would make a great wedding gift. I'll get them off myc amera soon to add to my blog.

Long day here, and my frame of mind is not the best...but thank you all for the prayers for Dad's surgery!! It went really well, they used a nerve block and so he was not given general anesthesia. He is having pain from his stroke??? but they said his knee should not feel anything for 3 days.
Anyway, it was good. Mom isn't doing so hot, but that is to be expected...it takes awhile. She misses her doggies. I would offer her mine, but don't think they'd let our dog in the home, either.
Wendy, I like those styles of fridges also...maybe I should unplug ours and see what happens? What kind is it?
And this is one of those times I am not going to try to keep up...but just wanted to let you know the surgery went well. And yes, Beth, my car has good tires, too...but I was thanking God for having a car that could get me here for sure!!! And there was a bit of snow at the top of one of the passes.
The fridge is a Kenmore and the range is an LG. They both had good reviews from Consumer Reports. Thanks for the compliments!
I have been up for almost 2 hours b/c of this stupid cold. Dd up for an hour. My neck hurt from having the pillow too high but if it isn't high, I can't breathe very well. I'm on the couch now which seems to better. Took some more medicine and will try to get back to sleep soon as I need to get up early. Bye!
Oh boy, so many posts and I can't remember it all.
Laurie, I remember awhile ago you asked about Sophie's ears, they are normal for now (knock on wood)
Grace, feel free to push a cookie through the computer screen to me. I love cookies! Then again, if it has sugar and chocolate I like it!
Beth, good luck with the coasters!! That maybe a new market for you.
Wendy, cool new toys!! I hope they last a long time! Sorry about the cold.
Lori, how's the homeschooling going?
Traci, glad Dad is doing wellish. Hope Mom adjusts soon.
PS, which house are you thinking you might put an offer on?
Joyce, that would be a lot of work to make a bowl full of candy corn! I think I will just buy them at the store and eat them!

Joyce, the candy corn is sooo cute. glad I don't knit or have the desire to. I think I would have an even more difficult time keeping my supplies safe. I have to leave my score pal on top of my craft cart now or Baby Dew,my orange tabby, starts pulling brushes and sponge applicators out to use as toys. I've found them all over the house.
Remember the gray cat that we took in from my bil? Her fur is growing back in nicely and she has become my little shadow and is doing really well. She doesn't like lots of people around, like the family get together on Sunday, too much chaos. she loves to jump on my lap and snuggle. She is watching me type this message right now. Hope I can get a nice pic of her to share here.
Gotta scoot, need to get ready for work. hope everyone has a great day. I'm glad I only have a half day to fill in for reception. Hope this afternoon I can get some stuff caught up at my desk before payroll tomorrow.

Grace, maybe you should give hime some paint. You might have a feline Picaso!
I agree on the candy corn, as a matter of fact I picked up a bag Monday.
Wendy, Ashlyn's friend is doing really well. The removed the wires last Wednesday. He still isn't aloud to chew or open wide but can at least brush his teeth and such. He looks really good. I think they were going to allow him to start driving on Monday. He couldn't drive because of the concusion.
I see you got the finger proof appliances. Good for you I realy think they need to invent a self cleaning microwave, kind of like the oven. I hate cleaning that thing!
We had dinner out last night, then I was up all night sick. I hope it was just the food and not the flu. Yuck!
Oh, I will take a cookie and a mug of hot cocoa. That sounds good to me right now!
Can I put out a prayer request please? My friend Paul's DAD. He is 81 and having issues. He has a really bad infection in/on his heart. There are actual puss sacks on his heart. He was sent from the hospital to a nursing home the other day, and now he is back in the hospital. He has been on very high doses of antibiotics. He is a religious man that goes to mass almost every day. Actually, he missed two days in a row, so friends went looking for him, and found him kind of out of it in his bed at home. Anyways. Please pray for him. I would appreciate it.
Chey's ear isn't looking much better. I really cleaned it up well again last night and put in more solution. If it's not looking better in the very near future, we will be going to see Dr. Eli...again...

With Natalie we are doing LOTS of work b/c her co-op classes have so much homework. That means B. is not doing as much as she should. We need to go work on that today. UGH! Thanks for asking!

Today my friend Linda has her last Wed. chemo. She has to go back on Thursday (they do hers 2 days) & then she will be done. Yesterday was her birthday & bless her heart, her mom's death certificate arrived in the mail yesterday. That stinks. This is so hard to go through. Losing her mom is way harder than the cancer.
Need to take a quick shower & then get ready so we can go pick her up, then we need to hit the books this afternoon.
I send out a few resumes a month and nothing has ever come up, very rarely I'll get an email response indicating they received it, but nothing more . . . freelance is always slow this time of year.
Lori, sorry your friend is dealing with so much at this moment.
And yes, his company had said they would keep him on which is why we went ahead with selling the house because we cannot afford this area and this morning they told him they changed their minds. So . . . here we are.
