Hi girls!!
Just got home from Steamboat, the weather was much better over the pass out of there, nice temps, clear skies...there was a cold front on the way in, and it was their first snow on the pass.
We took a lot of pictures in just one stop and by the condo, if any turn out, I'll post them on my blog once I get them uploaded to my computer. It was fun just to experiment and Erin is so photogenic, which I am so not!! We had a great time, although too short...wish we could somehow capture and freeze these memories...well, I guess I can through the pics we took.
So the drive wasn't too long, and nice to get home at a decent hour. Now need to unpack and organize, and do some of Bible Study which is tomorrow.
Robyn, how fun to have a stamping retreat and classes!! I bet you are tired, though. Any news on your job?
Peggysue!! That is too bad about the day later thing...remember I told you we found our house online long before we got to see it...and I was pretty sure that it would be the one. Not because I absolutely loved it, but because of the short time frame we had to find one and move and start school! So maybe, just maybe, you have found it! And really relieved to hear of the earnest money. That is great news! Hope you had a good trip. I opened my lovely card today, thanks so much, sweet friend!
Laurie, hope you make it through the day...and it's not too long. Not sleeping is the worst!
Lori, try to take it somewhat easy! And no, I did not see you!
And that's all for now, just had to check in with my dorky friends.
I am home from work, and I had a great day. My boss is just the best. He bought us lunch at Qdoba (his favorite). I am tired, but I have four projects on my list before I can go to bed tonight. Swaps for stamp club, take Chey for her walk, vacuum, and fold a load of laundry and put it away. I sure wish Chey could learn that last one!
Traci, glad for safe travels and good times with DD. That is AWESOME!
Wendy, glad to see you home and posting here!
Karen, do you know...when you have furlough days, does unemployment have those days off as well? Just curious....
Quick post (shhhhhhhhhhh, I'm still not here). Kathy told me she thinks I need to stay home this week. I wanted to be there for her, but she understands that I need to be here to be ready for Saturday. AND I have a friend who is loaning me her EZ-up canopy! Yea! Fading into the woodwork now.....

Lori, that's great news about not having to make a trip in to Houston and the canopy. Wishing you the best!
Laurie, I'm glad you love your job and your boss!
Joyce, I love my camera too...I just previewed all of our pictures, I got some really good ones of DD!! So DH put them on a picassa web album, because he couldn't figure out a zip file, and I have no clue...and I couldn't send one by one because I had 77 pictures! Yikes! So if you want 77 pictures, I'll send them, otherwise, I'll just put a couple on my blog soon...there were quite a few duds in there, too!
Anyhow, it always takes so long to figure that stuff out, and now back to my previously scheduled study...
good to see you gals!
Had a great weekend with 9 other stampers. We went to a cabin up north for a retreat. Lots of great food and fellowship and very little sleep. We swapped Christmas Cards and 2 - 6x6 Christmas Treat Recipe Cards. I taught a class Sat. night where we made binders for the Recipe cards using the new Deck the Halls DSP from the SU Holiday Mini. Another lady taught us how to make a Never Ending Card and 2 others taught us how to make a 3-D pumpkin using the Lg Scallop Circle Die. Sat. morning we went to a Craft Sale and found some good bargains on old craft products. We then went to Archiver's and a local scrap store that just opened up. We may take a road trip some Sat back to the LSS and make some cards. They had some beautiful samples that we want to learn how to do.
The weather was perfect for the entire weekend. I spent today getting everything back in the craft room and catching up on the web.

That is the neat thing about the digital cameras, you can delete those without paying for processing costs like in the old days, when you took in a roll of film and discovered someone had their thumb over the lens in each shot, or your toddler decided to take 24 pictures of the sidewalk and you got double prints . . .
Boo, Laurie, on not getting enough sleep, but just think, you can write up this experience and submit it to National Geographic! :} Sorry to hear about the migraine too, those are yucky!
Karen, what a relief to have those cards done, huh?
Holly, girl, you make me tired just reading your posts. 5-6oo calves would wear me out just looking at them!
Lori, you're not here, go work on craft fair stuff!!!
Okay, so we were gone all weekend and I had the strongest feeling I should at least stay for one more day to look and DH said we had to get back but it is Columbus Day and littlest DD had the day off. Of course we saw a house online that we didn't see while up there that now we both would like to see, but don't know when we'll be able to go back.
The good news is that we are getting our earnest money returned, so that is a huge relief. And like Karen, I got my last card done for the next MFP blog hop/new product introduction. I didn't make more than one project per set, like usual, but I did get my stuff completed and the posts ready to go.
Traci, glad you got some time in with Erin at Steamboat. Wow, cannot believe you had to follow a plow up the road, we have such warm temperatures here right now, really unseasonal considering the time of year.
Have to get back to house cleaning and writing. Smooches to all!!!
Oh that is good you'll get your earnest money back!!!

Wendy, how was the conference? Was it nice to be in Atlanta? Any job news?
Same for Robin . . . any job news at all???
Hey! The conference was amazing. It was called Catalyst and there were about 13,000 people there, mostly church leaders and pastors. It was great to get away for a few days and we were able to see one of DH's best friends, who was the best man in our wedding. I'll post some fun videos hopefully in the next week or so.
Well, I did hear back from the job. They want to hire me, but their budget doesn't alow it probably until March! I really think they spoke too soon about hiring since it seems like the corporate people actually made the final decision. So, it's back to drawing board...
DH is going to stop by a few places to look at ovens as ours doesn't heat up past 150. wonderful. BTW- you can cook apple crisp in the microwave. And our washer sounds like a mac truck during the highest spin cycle. When it rains, it pours, right?

Oh, Wendy, that is tough!! Do you have a toaster oven? I could usually cook a lot in one of those, especially when our kitchen was remodeled. Our daughter wants a nu-wave oven, does anyone have any experience with one of those? It's a countertop convection and I think can rotisserie...but it seems like a fad gadget to me.
Hi girls! I missed my Bible study, DH left at 3:00 a.m. and then once I got back to sleep, I overslept. Will have to go to the one on Thursday night to make it up.
Feeling very thankful today for my blessings...how about you?
Traci, I have not tried a nu-wave oven. Sounds fun though! What stops me from buying all those gadgets is that I have no place to store them.
I am very grateful for what I have.
Wendy, glad the conference went well and I hope the job will work out.

Traci, I thank God every day for my blessings....my vision, family, friends, faith, job and home just to name a few. Yes...every single day I thank Him for these. I am very blessed.
Laurie, got your happy mail today! THANKS...so pretty. Ilove those colors and are those pearlys and pearl brad SU's? I guess I could go look but I rarely go back in that section of the catalog for some reason. I should, I guess!
Dog has had the poopy runs for a few days now. We are cutting backon her food and giving her immodium. Doug said someone mentioned giving her cottage cheese. Laurie, any other ideas. She seems to be acting find...just runnypoops. She pooped in her crate last night...just liquid poop. Ugh. Poor baby girl! She's had it maybe since Friday, on and off.
Okay, she's sniffing and whining...better go take her out again.
give her an equal mixture of cooked white rice and cooked extra lean ground beef mixed together, no fat of any kind. Don't feed her any of her dry food for about 24 hours first, then give the rice mixture. we have had to do that with our dogs when they had the same problem. Works really well.

Oh, boy! That sounds like a blast! I'm so glad you had a great time.
Leona, you too. Sounds fun, except the hang over part. Ugh. That's NOT fun.
Peggysue, super duper yee-hawws on getting the $ back. I'm so thrilled. That's great. Hope the right one comes along soon-soon!!!
Hollydoodles....I agree with PS, 6-700 cows make me tired! I saw your blog and they look adorable. I need to take a closer look at them though. I'll go back and see your blog again.
Wendykins...glad you ahd a great time. Those conferences and all can be so encouraging. I'm glad you had a great time.
I forget what else I read.
Tracy, I'm glad you and dd had a great time too. Nice to just get away but ucky on the snow. It was 80 some here today but I think this is the end of it. It's supposed to be rainy and then turn colder.
Okay, we are watchign an episode of Father Murphy w/ the boys then I have 2 cards to still work out and prep for for my stamp club on Thursday.

Thanks' Grace, we'll give that a try. I know I have rice on hand and we only gave her about 1/2 her dry food tonight. But, we might do the rice mixture tomorrow. I'lll have to get some lean meat though on my way home from work tomorrow. But, I dy have rice on hand.
Yep. about 2 cups of rice with about a pound of the meat and I would highly recommend giving your vet's office a call too just for confirmation that it is ok to give her. We knew about what Pharaoh got into the last time it happened so were pretty comfortable with doing the rice/beef mix. If you are not sure what Tessa got into, ask your vet if he/she is ok with the concoction I told you about.

Beth, sorry about the doggy poopies. Thanks for the lovin' on my blog. I gotta go visit all of yours soon. I have been a bad dork sister.
Lori, pictures are posted on my blog.

Beth, I know it's gross but BOIL the hamburger - don't fry it. If you notice any blood in her stool, take a sample to the vet to test. She might have a parasite.

Beef, it's what's for dinner!!
I think Tessa is having a better dinner than me, I haven't eaten yet. Went to Athen's for lunch, it is a Greek gyros place, and not expensive, but not exactly fast food...it was yummy! Then shopped for a couple of birthday gifts for friends, and found some cute things!
Hello dorkies. I'm checking in after co-op then a nap. Going to do some sewing. Kathy volunteered to do some work for me, so she's trimming corners & snipping threads for me. If her machine were working she'd even sew for me. I could send a machine with her to the chemo room. I'm sure they'd love that. ha, ha!
Gonna go do a bit of work then get girls to bed. G'night dorkies!
I had a good swim last night and Lori, you did a good job about not whiinning while we were there! Then again, your face was in the water so you could have been cursing me out with the most foulest of foul mouths and I wouldn't have heard you!

I am happy that it's Wednesday...specifically stamp club Wednesday! YEAH!
LOTS of work today, but that is ok. It makes the day go by really fast. One project I have no interest in at all. The other projects won't be so bad...so I will start with the yucky project and get it done as soon as I can. May take a better part of the day, but then it's over.
Beth, how is Tessa? Did you try the boiled hamburger and rice? Boiling the hamburger makes it less greasy and much easier on her tummy.
We think we found a oven/stove. It's an LG with 5 burners. we looked at a maytag with 5 burners and 2 ovens but it didn't have very good reviews at Consumer Reports. There's a Kenmore on that Dh is going to look at and try to finagle a deal on a similar model. So, we'll see. The LG one is not available until Nov 10. Luckily we do have a toaster oven that we can use until we get a new big one.
DD just plunged her hands into a new container of Vicks baby rub. Argh! I think she was trying to rub some on herself...
And of course I got hamburger out for dinner.....no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I guarantee it won't be with rice
I just got the email today that my Halloween tag tree won the contest on the EK Success site. I love their prize packs, I can't wait to play! I'm so excited!
Tracy, I don't have one but have seen the infomercial. They are suposed to be healthier. But I already have the George Forman rotisserie and like Karen, I love those gadgets but really don't use them often enough to make them worth while.
Robyn, that does sound like a fabulous trip. I went to a friends Friday to scrap then my husband and Ashlyn met us all at for Mexican. It was fun just chatting and getting to know Andrea's husband. We had never all met before despite getting together quite often to scrap.
Although there is no snow in the forcast, I am sitting here with the fireplace on. It's just a little chilly.
How about an Amen for those miners being rescued! And continued prayers for getting the rest of them out safely.

Amen, Joyce!!! That is such a huge relief, and I am thrilled to see it!!
Morning ladies! Joyce, thanks for the info on the oven, yes, Caitlyn saw the infomercial and really wants one, but she doesn't have much storage, so for her, it would have to be out on the counter. She probably would use it, though! Do you like your George Foreman rotisserie?
I have a birthday dinner tonight for Cindy (aka Mothermark) and 2 other stamping friends...her birthday is Oct. 19th but I will be gone next week to see my parents. It is a long story about that. Anyway, the dinner should be really fun!!
So off to run a couple of errands and then stamp, maybe?
Joyce, a big congrats!!! for your win...I love their punches!! Your tree looks really cool, too!
