PS is moving too, how did I miss that news. We looked at houses in the Detroit burbs for the kids and maybe for us too. I don't like being so far away from my daughter and would love to live on a lake again.
We will see in the Spring if we still feel like moving and if our house would sell where we want the $$$ to be.......
We had Thanksgiving dinner at the kids house Saturday and spent the week-end with them, it was so nice to spend time relaxing. Didn't care for the 2 1/2 hour drive to Detroit but we managed. ( hint, hint for the mingle being in March and snowy roads, ugh ! ) But I do love Archivers in Novi Patty so who knows !!
and hi Joni! You didn't scare me off! I was super busy with last minute holiday prep and now I'm Oregon visiting the family for a few days. It's nicer here than in So Cal, where there is record rain this week! Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely holiday filled with love, peace and joy. I'll be back next week, or maybe next year!
Merry Christmas!! I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!
We found a house! We don't settle (i.e., can't move in) until mid-Feb BUT the school system will allow me to use a signed contract as enough proof so I can go ahead and enroll the girls in the correct school - so they won't miss anything!
Hi girls! Hope you're all doing well. I can't believe it's 2011 already.
Karen, you getting settled in the new place yet?
I had a super busy December and January started off busy, too, but I'm hoping it'll start to calm down now so I can get back to crafting. I haven't picked up a stamp in nearly a month! I may need a mojo-jumpstart when I finally get a chance to get inky.
Happy New Year too y'all too! I agree with Joni - let's hope it is safe & happy for everyone!
Michelle - I'm in temporary quarters for another month. The girls did start school today (at the school they'll be at when we finally move in). It is a 25 minutes commute, but traffic isn't bad. And they have the start times all backwards here - elementary school starts the latest - so it works out.
Belated birthday wishes to Joni - what's a month between friends, eh? ((hugs))
I'm finally getting settled in. We had a couple weeks of unpacking and then my daughter and I caught a bug. It is still hanging on, but she's back at school (taking standardized tests, poor girl; she missed some the week she was sick so she's doubling up as well). My mom is coming to visit in a couple weeks - hopefully she'll keep me to task enough that I'll actually finish unpacking (that would be unique for me, lol). I am loving my new home and really think I will love living in Colorado as well.
Hi Karen, hi Patty!
Glad to hear you're getting settled in, Karen. And congrats on getting your card featured on the PTI facebook page yesterday! Good to see you stamping again!
Hi Patty! Hope you're doing well!
I've been busy, as usual. Not much stamping the last couple of weeks. I'm gearing up for lots of visitors - all my friends and family from Oregon and Washington seem to be planning visits to So Cal for spring break. Work is work. I'm just happy they still give me a paycheck every two weeks! I am also planning a big summer vacation with a trip to NY, followed by a cruise New England and Canada, so that is exciting. And my sister is now 1 year post chemo and she is doing very well. Otherwise, it's pretty dull around here!
Hi Girls !!! I miss all of you too and I really don't know where time goes.
I even missed Michelle's birthday and I am so sorry ! So Happy Belated Birthday Michelle !!
I did a couple craft fairs but people are still pretty tight with their money in MI so I didn't sign up for next months event.
I have been selling alot of retired CTMH items and may be dropping down to Jr Consultant status at the end of this month. CTMH retired a huge amount of items for the first time since I became a Consultant but it was bad timing for me. Now that I am retired and could do workshops to have so much product unusable was bad.
It did feel good to clean out some of my stash but I still have so much of it, ugh ! And I really don't feel like crafting right now...hope that passes, lol !!!
Hi Joni! Thanks for the b-day wishes! That stinks about the craft fairs and the retirement of all that CTMH stuff!
Hi Karen! Thanks for the darling b-day card. It arrived a few days ago but I keep forgetting to pop in here and let you know.
Hi Patty! Hi anyone else who might stop in!
I have been busy, as usual, but did manage to get a little crafting in this weekend. I also did some clean-up of my space; I was running out of room to actually work! I decorated for spring this weekend - since I love bunnies, I have a whole collection I get out for spring/Easter. Now I'm on the hunt for a cute little Easter project or two to stamp - maybe a candy holder or basket of some type? I'd welcome any ideas or links!
Just popping in to say hello. I feel bad that I've not kept up better but life keeps throwing curveballs my way. Funny how that happens.
In January my husband went for his yearly physical. We got called back because of some elevated liver enzymes. 4 months of test after test we got the news, he has a rare form of cancer.
Because it is rare, there are only a hand full of surgeons in the US performing the surgery he needed. We thought we were going to need to go to Pittsburgh but eventually got in with a great surgeon in Milwaukee. Stephen underwent a huge surgery a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately they were unable to get everything at that point (he was on the table for 11 hours) so he will be starting chemo soon, and will need a second surgery in a couple months.
So that's what has been keeping me busy. I do, however, stop and think about you all often. I hope everyone is doing well. I miss you!!!
Vicki! So glad you stopped in. I'm sorry about your hubby. Cancer sucks. I was out of town last weekend so I could support my sister in her Relay for Life event for the Cancer Society. We raised a couple thousand dollars and the the event overall hit like $200,000. Anything we can do to help put a stop to cancer is a good thing, I think!
I have been super busy with work and family, not much time for stamping lately, but I hope to do some this weekend. My big news is that one of my cards is being published in the Holiday Cards and More issue that is due out in late September. I am super excited! Ok, I better get to work. Let's do better at staying in touch, OK? I don't pop into SCS quite as often as I used to, but I am still around!
So glad I posted and it feels so good to talk to all of you ! Sorry I didn't get back here right away but my Aunt passed last week and before that we were in the ER for the hubby ( kidney stone and a small Abdominal Aeortic Aneurysm ) all his bad habits are catching up with him !
To answer your ?'s, we did not move to the East side of the state, it is wayyyy to congested for me and wayyy to much traffic ! We have had a rough year helping our Heidi out as her ( ex ) husband did not turn out to be the guy she thought he was and they are no longer together....so we have a Grand-dog ( some of the time, mostly a nuisance, lol ) and no Grandbabies.
We try to visit her as often as we can, our hope is she will move back closer to home but they had bought a house and it was in her name only so it is kind of hard to look for a job over here when paying on a house. It is a fixer upper and one income is tough with home repairs so we try to help as much as we can, she does have a room mate so that helps with the bills.
Things are settling down and she is doing better, but it was heartbreaking.
On a happier note, I love being retired, I don't craft often and I am no longer with CTMH. If you don't see people ( like at work ) they kind of forget about you and don't place orders, lol. I couldn't afford to keep my minimums up myself now that I am on a fixed income. Not complaining though!!!
I hope all of you are doing well and I will check back here !! Love you all.
So good to hear an update, Joni! I am so sorry for Heidi's situation. So sad for her. I hope she can eventually move closer to you and your hubby. I know my mom would love it if I moved closer to her!
Things are busy as always for me. Never have managed to get laid off from my job, so I just keep plugging away. Eliot the kitty is getting old - she'll be 16 in April - but she's hanging tough. I still stamp regularly, but I also am learning to digi-scrap, which is kind of fun.
I hope you all keep checking in. It is so nice to catch up!
