Yeah after I posted that Matthew had a bad night. He was up at least 4 times between 1 AM and 5 AM this morning. But only one of those time did I have to get up and resettle him. I am tired today!

Hubby and I got a pre-lit fake tree for our house. I thought I would miss the real trees, since that is all my parents ever had, but I love it! No vaccumming up needles, stepping on needles and watering. Except last year one of the strands on it was out... that took a while to figure out why it wasn't working. It is not supposed to go out for a bad light... We haven't got our tree up yet this year. I am not going to complain though, hubby has been working hard redoing the basement so I could take over with my crafting.

Good morning chat sisters! I hope you all are doing well today. I am still tired, but mostly because I have been crafting until midnight every night so far this week.

Just cards mostly. Hubby gave up his big corner desk last weekend and I moved most of my craft stuff onto his old area. I now have taken over about 1/2 of our basement with crafting supplies/area. I'll have to take pictures once I am finally settled in and everything has a home.

I am hoping to get back into scrapbooking, but I feel better when I make cards... instant gratification rather than SB pages (where I can sit on them for months trying to figure out what I need to make them "perfect").

I am so behind on my scrapbooking. I have at least been trying to keep up on Christmas pictures but I still haven't scrapped 2009 and it's already Christmas 2010. OMG.

I've scrapped two layouts since my boys were born, their arrival picture and one from last Christmas with them in their jumperoos. I have an 8x8 album that I wanted to monthly layouts for their first year, plus all the other "extra" pictures to scrap... (first foods, haircuts, Christmas, etc) I just joined a scrap kit swap, so hopefully I get some things to inspire me to work.

Don't worry about writing in your cards that's fine. If thats how you want to do it I don't care. I just didn't write in mine so if you wanted to use it later to give to someone you could

I loved documenting my son's first. We both go back and look at his first year scrapbook its funny for him to look and say was that me? Was I a baby. I'm so glad I did it.

We don't do anything for New Year's Eve. In fact, there are times I am sound asleep by midnight (I'm just not a late night person -- definitely a morning person). Last year we went out to a seafood restaurant (5pm dinner reservations -- home by 7pm). Most of the time we don't even do that. After going out and having steaks that were so-so my DH said let's do steaks at home. We don't have steaks very often. The steaks he grills are much better than what we end up with at the restaurants. ...we have salad, baked potato, grilled mushrooms. It ends up so much less expensive than going out, too.

No, we are lucky if we make it up until midnight for New Year's Eve now that the boys are here. Before them we would usually go to a friend's house for a small party and fireworks... but not this year. This year is Christmas with my family, which means a 10 hour drive to northern Wisconsin. DH is taking a flight home Christmas day, and I am staying up there with my family for the week. Otherwise I would only get to see my family for two days until next year, at Thanksgiving.

So we are finally working on getting our decorations up, and the Christmas lights have definitely won this year. Over 1/2 of our pre-lit tree was not working, and DH was going to throw out the tree until we saw the prices on new ones... so he is working on cutting off the old lights and wrapping it in new lights. Poor guy. And then we usually wrap our front pillars with garland/lights. And out of the 6 strands of lights there, only 1 works. So off to the store to buy new ones!

That's nice that you'll get to spend that time with your family Kelly.

Did your DH get your tree working? We had that happen one year where every strand of lights we took out didn't work.

I actually got to make 4 cards yesterday and they all turned out just how I pictured it in my head...I love when that happens. I find myself using my cricut on my cards a lot more now, even if its only one little thing like a flourish, it really comes in handy.

DS has his first 2hr delay this morning. Not much snow but it must be slick out because I heard the salt trucks go by. We're supposed to get 2-4 more inches today. I hate the snow, I'd be happy with a green Christmas like in Hawaii. LOL

Hope you all have a great day today.

Does your Dh do a lot of cooking June? I wish mine would learn how to cook more than a couple things so I could cook less LOL

He cooks only when it comes to grilling outside. Cooking meals in the kitchen is not his thing. And yet he watches all these cooking shows. I always ask him "why do you watch these shows if you never cook?" His answer "so I can get ideas for you to make." Yeah, like that is going to happen. Like I mentioned before I am not a cook. I only cook to survive.

One of my new year's resolutions (beside my craft budget and lose weight) is try new recipes. We will see how long that lasts. LOL

LOL June. I watch all the cooking shows too and cooking is my least fav thing to do. I love chopped and next iron chef ( like I could ever make anything from nothing like they do) I also like the next food network star and diners drive ins and dives.... that food on that show looks so good and I never would think of ordering any of it if I was in one of those places.

Carrie, yes DH got the tree up yesterday. It's a 7.5 foot, I think, and has 750 lights on it. LOL I think that is more than when we originally bought it! It looks really nice though, I am happy he saved it.

I love to try new recipes all the time, although I wouldn't say I like to cook. Check out Allrecipes.com - the top web site for recipes, food and cooking tips. I find that's where I head when I feel like trying something new.

June, I received your beautiful card today! Wow! Was that a SU set? (the holly leaves)

I was a SU demo for 2 years prior to my boys arrival, but I gave it up last year, since I was not working anymore. I miss it quite a bit, but maybe I can become a demo again once the boys get a little older.

Kelly, I received your lovely card today too. I love the fabric. I haven't experimented at all with fabric. I've done a little with felt. Thank you for your letter and the photo of your twin boys. They are adorable.

That stamp is a Papertrey Ink (PTI) stamp I used. I've really gotten addicted to their clear stamps. It's so much easier to use than rubber or rubber clear mount.

My husband watches all those shows except the Next Iron Chef. I sometimes watch the Food Network Star and Top Chef with him. Oh he really loves Guy. He watches other cooking shows that I don't care to watch.

I love to try new recipes all the time, although I wouldn't say I like to cook. Check out Allrecipes.com - the top web site for recipes, food and cooking tips. I find that's where I head when I feel like trying something new.
So so funny.... I signed up for Allrecipes.com's emails and they are always sending me recipes. I print some of them off and put the sheets in page protectors and put them in a binder. I feel like I am a collector. These are the recipes I intend to try out in the new year.

I like having a sense of accomplishment. When I make a card if something is not going right I will change something to my liking. If it just plains sucks it goes in the recycle and I start over. With cooking I don't know if it is going to turn out until it has finished cooking and by that time it's too late to toss out or my hubs won't have any dinner. I just don't feel like I have any control with cooking.

June, with allrecipes, I usually just try and find a recipe with an average rating of 4 stars and above, with over 100 (closer to 400-500) people reviewing it. That way it usually turns out good.

Carrie, I just sponged on some color to a piece of glossy white CS, inked my image and added glaze and glitter to the butterflies.

I am glad you gals like the cards!
