Your payment allotment sounds interesting but terribly scary to me. It sounds like something I should do but I am afraid of the results -- how much I spend. But I'll have to seriously think about doing this.
I have difficulties passing up a good bargain either. I have resisted not going to the last two LSS sales -- they have terrific prices with stamps for 80% off and some stamps for $.50. And I did pass up the garage sale at the other LSS where stampers sold their oversupply of stuff. Kind of proud of myself for resisting. But think of the deals I passed up.
It is scary! But it helps you put a perspective on impulse purchases. I don't know if could have resisted going to those sales. I may have been able to resist
buying something, it depends on my mood. Know what I mean?
Oh, you are one of those talented ladies that decorates cakes like it nothing. I have always admired people who can decorate cakes. My niece is always baking and decorating themed cakes for her two kids. It's interested me but I have never taken the plunge because I can imagine the mess I would make.
Your payment idea sounds like a good idea. I would be scared to see what my spending vs using amt was LOL What mags do you submit to? I submit my cards also.
I don't have a hobby lobby around me, never been to one. I did get to go to an Archivers once when we took our son to Kings Island amusement park, there was an Archivers down the road. Good thing I don't have one of those I would be broke for sure!
I've only done it once so far and I don't even remember which magazine it was.
Do you ladies use Spellbinder dies? If so, do you own their Magnetic placement mat? I was thinking of getting one but did not know if it made the sandwich thicker and harder to roll through.
After I little more digging, I think I found my answer. Thanks.
I found a thread here on SCS and most people's opinion was that it is too thick with the Cuttlebug. People suggested using the cheap thin magnets, yellow stickies or tape.
I wanted to take two dies that fit into each other and cut out a thin frame.
Hi Ladies!!! I finally have a free moment and I am checking in... I am a stay-at-home mommy with 3 girls (15, 11, and 6). I love reading, stamping/ papercrafts, and spending time with my family. I am so excited to "meet" each of you and look forward to getting to know you

It was great to get a response. I am living in San Guiliamo Terme near Pisa. I love living in Italy and will be here for 3-5 years. I am learning the language "piano,Piano" but loving every minute of listening to it. It has such a melodic flow to it. I hope you will correspond again. Ciao,
Cathy

Italy is such a beautiful country. I would love to travel there someday....
My youngest daughter was just learning about Italy in her World Cultures class. I think some of the kids in her class were surprised that the Leaning Tower of Pisa was not really called the Leaning Tower of PIZZA, lol

Good Morning Ladies. Hope you all had a great weekend and a fun Halloween. Had a super busy weekend but I'm happy to say I got some more christmas cards done, this one with my cricut which made them fast to do. Just wanted to pop on today and say hello. I have cards ready to go out to you so watch your mailboxes. Have a wonderful day.
Good Morning ladies....We survived Halloween. We didn't get that many trick or treaters. We had bought this HUGE bag of chocolate candy at Costco -- 150 pieces and I think we had more than half left over. I told my DH that he has to take the leftovers to work because these are the candies I love and I will eat them. He wanted to keep some at home so i told him he needs to hide them from me. I LOVE chocolate.
I also got some stamping time in. I have 57 Holiday cards made -- I have to reach 90. Actually I am much more ahead this year than I have been in the past on Nov 1st.
My mom didn't get many trick or treaters either but only her and one other house had their lights on this year so she is stuck with 35 treat bags left over. I don't know what she is going to do with them...probably pass them to the grandkids every time they stop over LOL.
Wow 57 cards done already. Do you upload any to your gallery here?
Christina, what did your girls dress up as for Halloween?
My 6 year old was a monkey- for the 3rd year in a row, lol. She LOVES that costume, but I think this is the last year she is going to be able to sqeeze into it , My 11 year old was a vet, and my 15 year old went to school as a nerd. She taped Smarties candy to her pants so she had "smarty pants" lol! It was SO cold here!!! We didn't see as many trick or treaters out this year.

57 Cards!!! Wow - very nice! Wish I was even close to that with my holiday cards. We had about 75 trick or treaters. I love all the little kids, but I have to say my favorite this year was a doberman dressed like a unicorn! So stinkin' cute! Had to give her a doggie treat!

omgosh that is funny. Is the dog in your avatar yours? What kind is it? Its so cute.
Yes, my Avatar is our 10 year black and white Cocker named Copper. He won't wear a costume! LOL Actually, he'll let you put it on him, but then he lays down and won't move!! Silly dog.

What a great idea your daughter had taping the smarties to her pants! Love it!!!
Just popping on real quick today. My son is sick, this is about his 5th time since he started Kindergarten and he thought he'd share this time and pass it around to me and DH. ugh! So I'm trying to get everyone better, including myself. Hope you all have a great day.
Hi Everyone - Hope you're having a good weekend. A little rainy here, but then it's Oregon afterall. Carrie, I hope you and your family are feeling better today. I'm off to do some stamping.
sorry i haven't been on its been a rough couple of days with very little sleep. we had snow flurries yesterday and it was only 28 degrees this morning. im not ready for winter. hope you all are having a good weekend
Good Morning Good Morning. I finally had a full nights sleep so at least I feel well rested this morning. Hope you all had a good weekend. We're supposed to get some warmer weather this week...up in the 60's and then back to cold this weekend. Anything is better than the 20's and 40's we've been having.
Glad to hear you got some sleep last night, Carrie.
We went to my DH's cousin's wedding reception on Saturday evening. I took tons of photos. Oh no, that means I am that much more behind on my scrapbooking. The reception was nice and the food was delicious. The only thing wrong was that the air conditioner was running and it was freezing for the longest time. I felt sorry for the ladies who were wearing sleeveless dresses.
I did get a little stamping in this weekend. Worked on more Christmas cards. I also worked on a couple "Save the Date" cards for the annual Christmas dinner we are having at our house in December. I need to get my Thanksgiving cards done in a hurry. It's closing in on us.
I'm going to enable a little bit this morning LOL I was reading on the cricut messageboards about HSN... they are running a sale on almost all their cricut carts for 29.95, even the disney and some of the new ones. I'm going to order a cart. Just thought I'd pass that info on
We have two families over for a "friends" annual Christmas dinner and there are only about 9 of us. I do this annually on the second Saturday evening of December. We eat, talk, and take photos by the tree (yes, more photos I add to my "have to scrap" pile). I try to keep a tradition going.
We celebrate Christmas Eve with my DH's immediate family usually at my BIL/SIL's house and then my MIL or my DH's aunt does Christmas day with the larger family (aunts, uncles, cousin's and all the cousin's kids and their kids - getting quite large with the kiddies). I've done Christmas eve but never Christmas day - way too many people for our house.
Carrie, thanks for the enabling for the carts. Thank goodness I don't own a Cricut. As I mentioned before I've debated but haven't taken the leap. It's not only the cost involved but the space involved. I don't have any extra table top or shelf top space to put it.
Thanks for the heads up, Carrie. I think my local craft store is going to have a big sale soon, so I am holding off for that. I'm going to their Open House this weekend, so may find some then. It's a big event held each year and is so much fun. People line up for a 1/2 block waiting to get in. Kinda like Black Friday. Should be fun.
Good Morning Well it looks like the beautiful weather we had the past week is going to leave and we're headed back to the cold...boo hoo. Hope you all are staying warm.
Barb that craft sale sounds awesome! Good luck, hope you get a lot of good deals. I talked myself right out of buying a cricut cart from HSN. The one I wanted I only wanted for 3 specific cuts and then decided I could wait. Watch me regret it a month from now LOL
June your Christmas celebrations sound like a lot of fun. We go to my mom's on Christmas Day evening and have dinner with my 2 brothers and their families. We stop by my grandfather's on christmas eve and visit while family pops in and out so you never know who you might see that year.
I'm trying to debate about what to do for my son's bday this year. His is the 29th of December and we usually wait till January to have his party but I was thinking I might have it on his birthday so the family that comes in from out of town can come if they'd like. I guess we'll have to wait and see when it gets closer to time.
So what's everyone's plans for thanksgiving? We go to my mom's... my son loves it he can't wait to go to mamaw's for the "big feast" lol Can't believe its only 2 weeks away. We decorate the day after thanksgiving, I'm definitely not a black friday shopper though my DH loves it.
Hi I'm here. I've been having some creativity block this last week and yesterday as well so all I've been making is quick gift tags for Christmas (I mean how hard is that?). I haven't made a single Christmas card all of last week nor any other cards. I have cards half way made and don't like the direction it is going so I just stopped. I can't think of ways to change it so that I like it. Does this ever happen to any of you?
